Although I'm not entirely sure this goes here, since this sub-forum is rather new. (I haven't had a hacking question in about a year... whoa.)

Basically, events. I get a black screen before the chapter title is even shown.

And if its before the chapter title is shown, it's probably not events, because events are loaded after. Check the map, chapter title, and anything else in the chapter data.

Well, that's the thing. There is no map or anything else edited on to that chapter, I inserted into a clean rom.

Oh, and there is no screeching noise along with the black screen.

that might do it

this code is wrong: look up how to do it. I think it's supposed to be something like EventPointerTable(0x06,Pointers) because your list of Pointers is named... "Pointers".

I should make a tutorial on basic debugging sometime--not like ASM or anything, just like teaching people how to use logic, trial and error to figure out their problems on their own happy.gif no offense to you as you said you RARELY ask questions just something I've been thinking about since I feel like it'd be a useful tool not only in hacking but in many things people do especially with programming and math and technology in general

With the going of the black screen problem, I now have another.

When the chapter starts, there is a black screen, then the OOBB code plays, the screen turns black again right away and starts playing the music. The screen stays black... with the music, forever... I don't see why.

Pointers thing makes me feel noobish, I should have knonw that!

No battle preps, but as far as I know that chapter fades to black already, so it shouldn't be a problem. I'll do some more testing and see if I get anywhere.

UPDATE: Events now work to perfection. Thanks Blazer. Imma done, this can be closed now.
