First thread about a book, interesting.
So Dune is a Sci Fi novel from 1965, the first in a lengthy series by Frank Herbert.
There've been a couple of Video Games on it, mostly RTS games.
I'm reading it right now. Very good book so far. Highly recommended if you like Sci Fi and/or reading.
Anyone else read this book before?

Have no access to the books. Read a small synopsis on them after I saw...the Dune movie. I liked the movie.
Very awesome story though.

My favourite book of all time (followed by Snow Crash by Neal Stephenson).
It's hard to discuss a book you are not done reading, as I do not want to spoil it. Just know that it does not lose quality as you progress and I highly recommend finishing it.
If you really enjoy it I recommend finishing the series (Dune Messiah (1969), Children of Dune (1976), God Emperor of Dune (1981), Heretics of Dune (1984), Chapterhouse: Dune (1985)). I remember reading something about another author making a prequel to Dune after Frank Herbert died, but I have never read any. Something to look in to perhaps.
Anyway, a lot of political and philosophical ideals weaved in to the plot which makes the whole series fun and at the same time thought provoking (Like Ayn Rand, but he is a good writer).
Dune is considered the best-selling Sci-Fi book of all time and for good reason. Great pick.

You're correct, the story really doesn't hit a dead point at all. I'm still not quite done with it (I fell off again, doing other things so I haven't read from it in around a week, but I'll for sure be back.) I'm in the last third of the book, however and I make good progress when I do read from it, so I'll hopefully have it finished before the month is out, assuming I stay focused.
I was indeed planning on continuing the story, not just because I love the story, but also because that's just a good series to have, because of how well known it is.

Deleted my past couple posts, for they were just kind of lame updates.
Anyways, I'm on book 4, God Emperor of Dune.
Easily the best series of books I've ever read.
HEYO THIS IS ALSO A BUMP SO PEOPLE PLEASE TALK ABOUT THIS GREAT SERIES.
