lol wow, how short was it? like, 30 minutes? I heard it was at least a few hours, lol. I mean, that's pretty much all I expected out of it. If it's not at least 2-3 hours, we're going to have a problem, lol.

Each mission will probably take about an hour, I think? But some you can complete in as little as 5 minutes if you know what you're doing and where to go and how to go about it. Haha.

But there are several different missions to do at least, so it's not all bad! Especially if you get it for free with PS+.

I did not think there would be a Metal Gear Solid game be as short as Super Mario Bros. or even Donkey Kong Country.

Anyway it has been some time since I last played anything. I was only able to beat one game sadly but I am working on the games I am still yet to beat.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse, PS3/PS4/XBox 360/XBox One, around probably June 3rd.

I am a Dragon Ball Z fan and knowing about Dragon Ball and watching a little bit of the anime but mostly of the Z series along with all of the GT series and how much fun it looked I decided to get the game and I was lucky to find a physical copy of the game. Dragon Ball Xenoverse is a really fun game which allows you to make your own characters which I definitely had fun with and allows you to use a huge variety of Super Skills as well as Ultimate Skills. The first time playing the game I had a lot of fun playing it but by the time I got to Beerus' test I started to not like how unfair some of the fights were. The final battle is awesome but by the time you reach about level 61 (level 59 for Beerus' test) it was very easy but I am not gonna complain since the game is pretty fun to play despite how unfair some of the fights get. Also not having as much freedom to create as many characters as you want from the beginning I can understand due to my 6 characters created so far. To get that freedom you have to beat the game first. So far I have 3 saiyans, 2 earthlings and a namekian as characters. Well that is about it. I definitely recommend it if you are a fan of Dragon Ball Z.

Well it's pretty much just a prologue/teaser, right? kind of like a demo? so it's understandable for me, though it's weird for them to release that kind of thing, especially at the price that they did, lol.

Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky FC [PC] - 06.21.2015

Man I fucking marathoned this game lol. Was a pretty good game. Fun story with fun characters. Not the greatest story ever, it took till basically halfway through the game before I actually got truly interested in the story. Ending plot twist actually fixed my problem with Joshua that I had through out the story, so that was nice. I felt there was too little resolved in this game. The main narrative sort of was, but pretty much every other plot/sub-plot point brought up never was so it felt kind of scarce I guess. Also I was told the romance was done well, but it made me cringe so fuck that.

The battle system was fun, but dear god IT WAS SO FUCKING SLOW. I couldn't bring myself to ever grind much since the system was so slow that even main battles got to the point of being tedious (cough King Penguin cough). I also really hated the damage scaling in this game. If I have the best armor in the chapter and all the enemies only give me 7 experience a pop, Estelle shouldn't be fucking destroyed by the boss(es) before I can even move someone. I also don't like how easily it was to be overwhelmed by groups of enemies, but I fell that the devs intended that one. Also wish I knew exactly what each stat affected so I could properly use my buffs and such, I just funneled pretty much everything into attack since I had no idea what I was doing. Also whoever decided for the last 3 boss fights to have art cancelling moves needs to go die in a hole. I have to say though, the tournament was definitely the most fun I had with the battle system. I did the same damage to the enemy as they did to me so it wasn't fucking bullshit since they couldn't knock out half my health like previous bosses had.

tl;dr fun game with a nice story, though I had problems with it I overall enjoyed it.

yaaaay you beat it

I also marathon'd it lol, dang game was kind of addictive for whatever reason. I rarely marathon/get addicted to games too, so for me that means a lot, haha.

Your opinions are pretty standard/the common fare, lol. The game indeed doesn't pick up until maybe chapter 3 or chapter 4, a lot of it is build-up and in a way the entire game is build-up for the sequel, so yeah. That's usually the main complaint people have with the game, is that even for RPGs it's a bit slow to get interesting.

I felt there was too little resolved in this game. The main narrative sort of was, but pretty much every other plot/sub-plot point brought up never was so it felt kind of scarce I guess.

That's because you're essentially playing an incomplete game/the first half of the full game, lol. The sequel takes place literally right after FC ends; well there might be like, a one or three day timeskip, but yeah, that's practically nothing lol. Most of the plot points will be resolved in SC and those that aren't, you'll have to continue to play the series for (the game is huge on lore/sub-plots and you probably missed a lot of it unless you followed a guide and played close attention lol).

So in other words, more of the standard fare kind of reaction, really. XP

Also I was told the romance was done well, but it made me cringe so fuck that.

If you're told X is done well, it's probably not going to meet your expectations. I think that goes especially for romance. Though you tend to cringe pretty easily, so meh.

battle system is... well it does get faster I guess, I'll admit it can be slow at times, but no offense, you probably weren't utilizing the games mechanics to their fullest (based on what you said yourself and my knowledge of you as a video game player, no offense, lol). I pretty much never had to grind and did pretty well, and I've played enough RPGs that the gameplay didn't feel slow, but I can understand how it would've been for you.

There are some balancing issues for sure, Falcom struggles with that, so I don't really disagree. The game definitely has some problems, mostly with "balance" (whether it's pacing the story well or scaling the enemies on the battlefield well or something else), but I'm glad you seemed to enjoy it as a whole.

The sequel has even better music, a better/more hype story, the same old fun characters/interactions and such, and resolves a lot of plot points... so I hope you play it and enjoy it when it comes out! :)

I am not very proud of how lacking I was with beating games so here we go.

Metroid Prime, Game Cube/Wii, June

Donkey Kong, Gameboy/Virtual Console, June 30th

Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3, Gameboy Advance, June 30th

Funny enough the first Metroid game I ever played and ever got into the series was Metroid Prime. I remember coming home one day to find out one of my brothers bought the game for Game Cube and man was it ever great. Anyone I talked to would say that Super Metroid is their favourite while mine is Metroid Prime. I am still yet to play through Metroid Prime 3 again.

Donkey Kong for the Gameboy is one of those games I wished I played as a kid but missed out. I have beaten it many times already when I got it on Virtual Console but the copy I played was a physical copy which I was able to find in one of the video game stores that I go to quite a lot. It is basically the same game but with more mechanics which Super Mario 64 really got the triple jump as well as the back flip from. I had a lot of fun coming back to this game.

I remember when I first got Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3 as a kid when it was new and I was happy since I saw it in commercials a lot back then. I put hours into this game and back in its time it would keep me busy for hours for everyday of the month. Now I found it in my drawer where I put my other old handheld games and thought why the hell not. Play through it again since I have the Retron 5. All that I will say it was great going back to play it again. I of course used the warp zone to beat the game quickly. I am going back to beat the other worlds I just needed a world map to get to different worlds in any order I want.

idk

seems like you are a fan of classics in general which is cool ofc just sayin'

so is MP3 next on your list? also, did you eventually play Super Metroid? As Lucia will tell you. great game. lol.

How is the Retron 5? I haven't invested into anything like that but it has piqued my interest as I don't have any consoles before the Wii anymore except like, a GBASP with broken shoulder buttons. It's a little sad but my famz gave away most of our consoles, so yeah. I can play GBA and Gamecube games thanks to backwards compatibility, but anything else I can't and I don't even have any older games either since we gave away those too QQ

I played a lot of Super Nintendo games when I was a kid so we never had a lot of games to play at the time. The same goes for every other console we ever owned so yeah. I am more of trying to catch up on the games I missed out as a kid.

Once I beat Metroid Prime 2 it will be.

The Retron 5 has been good so far. I never experienced any problems other than minor sound problems like Pauline screaming help in Donkey Kong for the gameboy. I feel bad for you since I still have most of my old games from when I was a kid. As for my consoles my brother has them as well as one of the GBAs. We had like 4 GBAs back in the day. We were huge Nintendo nerds then.

Ah I see. It is a good thing to be happy with what you have. It is what I had to learn when I just had the SNES back in the day.

Anyway time for a list that is better than the last one.

Super Mario All-Stars, SNES/Wii, July

Ninja Gaiden 3 Razor's Edge, Wii U/PS3/XBox 360, July

Super Metroid, SNES/Virtual Console, July 10th

If there was one game I put many hours into and always kept coming back to was Super Mario All-Stars and I mean the version on the SNES. If I wanted to play Super Mario Bros. 1,2,3 and Lost Levels I would pull out the Super Nintendo and start up Super Mario All-Stars. This is the one game I have a lot of fond memories of even though Super Mario World is my favourite Super Nintendo game which is at the top of that list in favourite SNES games. I no longer have the copy I had when I was a kid but I was lucky enough to find a copy of the game in my local video game store I go to daily so I was happy. If you don't want any graphical errors then I recommend just playing it on the SNES. The Retron 5 has very little graphical errors and that is only on the Super Mario Bros. 3 title screen.

I remember Ninja Gaiden on the NES which I sadly never got to play it on that system due to the popular ninja character. I went to my local video game store and saw the Wii U version of Ninja Gaiden 3 Razor's Edge and thought why the hell not and bought a used copy of it. I regret neglecting this game. I absolutely loved the story as well as the gameplay. Playing this game made me wonder why I neglected to get this game for so long. It is a really fun action game and as one not played many I would say it is my number one favourite action game so far. It is definitely above Metal Gear Rising Revengeance. I recommend playing Ninja Gaiden 3 Razor's Edge on hero mode if you want to get used to how it feels and just enjoy the story, Normal if you want a challenge.

Now this is a Super Nintendo game I have not played as a kid and thank god for that. I am quite happy I played Super Metroid as an adult due to how some of the stuff in this game can give a kid nightmares like Crocomire's flesh melting in the lava and Mother Brain's final form. I have heard many people including a couple of Youtubers praise this game as the best Metroid game to ever exist and I can see why they do. I had a lot of fun playing this game and I am glad a couple of my friends on Twitter suggested I play this game. As a fan of classic games I definitely recommend playing this game. I might end up getting a SNES copy of it as well.

Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning. - Never because this game has over 200 hours of content and I don't have enough fuckin time.

Really like the game, though. It's not terrible and tedious like most RPGs these days.
Dave Grohl is rock and roll personified.

Actually a real smart genius man, but I'll never show it.

I liked it, it was well-put together and did a good job of being 'retro' while maintaining all the functionality of today.

I haven't really done that much with my list of beating games but here goes nothing

- Mario and Luigi Partners in Time, NDS/Virtual Console, July

- Donkey Kong Country, SNES/Virtual Console, July

- Adventures of Pip, Wii U/Steam, July

Mario and Luigi Partners in Time I have been meaning to beat for a long time now and knowing it is on Virtual Console I finally had that chance. This game is not the best for the series but I would not say it isn't good. I was warned that the bosses felt like they had too much HP which got me to use the bros items quite often which helped me beat this game quite easily. I liked everything in the game but the end of it. I would of liked it if the game didn't get me to think I was done with it three times within such a short amount of time.

This title probably already came up before but I decided to go through it 101% again since I have a way of playing SNES games of its physical copies. I was able to find a used copy of the game and decided to beat it again so there really isn't much to say other than I love it to death.

Never thought to see me playthrough an indie game on the Wii U? Well this is one game I wanted to get for awhile since I was quite curious how it played and I regret pushing it aside as long as I did. You start out as a square what they call a 1x1 pixel and that pixel named Pip had one thing in mind when chaos arrived. It is to save the princess and stop the main villain who I forgot her name since it has been awhile since I last played it. I do recommend playing it if you like weird things like that as much as I do. I sure had a lot of fun playing it. There was actually one boss I had trouble figuring out. When you guys play it you will know as soon as you reach that point.

Well, it might not be a lot to you (or to me, tbh) but you're beating more games than most of us, I think. XD

I haven't tried Adventures of Pip but what I will say is that there are actually quite a few solid if not good indie games on the Wii U! If you have the time and money I'd suggest checking it out. Aside from multi-plats and such there are also exclusives and the like and while there are also quite a few not-so-great titles, the Wii U's actually got quite a bit of potential entertainment hidden away in the eShop.
