I haven't seen this movie in theaters yet but I really wanna see it. This movie from what I heard makes many video game references and seems to aim more at the gamer audience.
What do you guys think of the movie? Whether you have seen it or not.

I saw it, I am a hardcore Halo gamer, and I hated the movie. The story was great but the editing got to the point where it just got annoying or made no sense. A lot of the scenes were confusing and made absolutely no sense whatsoever. I give it a 2.5/5 stars.
I won't remove this until I get a killtacular in Halo MLG- Started December 29, 2010.

I've already watched the trailer for it and i really don't like it too(with the same reasons like Anonymous. But hey, the heros chick looks hot

I enjoyed the comic books, but I have no idea if it translates that well into a film. I haven't seen it because I don't think it's out here.

I also don't feel Michael Cera was a very good choice for the lead, he can really only play one type of character...

Am I the only one who actually loved the movie? Well probably cause I'm all nerdy when it comes to games. Also, I didn't think Cera was that bad. This was one of the times when he tried a very different role then he's used to.
He's not playing a social akward teenager, in fact, he is also known for having multiple ex-girlfriends. So it was a bit of a different role then he is used to.
Today I actually went to powell's and saw all 6 volumes of scott pilgrim on the shelf. I wanted to get them so badly! Oh well, I'll have amazon do the work

Holy shit this film was brilliant, I just got back from seeing it and I loved it,
Michael Cera was very funny as the lead and all the video game references were fun to figure out but also

Yeah, he still is, in a way. He's emotionally retarded. He's awkwardly trying to woo the girl (wtf was her name again? Ramona?) like he always does. He's so retarded he's fake-dating a girl to seem not out of place. But he still is.
There were probably only two or three things I liked about this movie. Firstly, the minor characters (namely, the evil exes) were actually interesting and funny. Some of them, anyways. I don't remember anything about the first ex, but the Chris Evans action star and the Vegan Psychic were very funny and good. The way they portrayed the gay guy was refreshing, in that he wasn't totally flaming and in love with the main guy, and lastly, the effects.
The main cast was awful. Michael Cera does what he always does. Boring. The Ramona girl has no personality and seems so bored, but not in a good way, it's like the actress herself was just bored with the movie. The first half hour is totally plot-driven and yet, ironically, it makes no sense. He's also a complete freaking idiot. He has the choice between a 17 year old (although the actress is like 25) cute Asian girl, who is completely in love with him, willing to do anything for him. And then he has the choice of this average looking American girl who changes her hair color changed every week and a half. She has no personality and is completely aloof from everything.
Once the League is introduced though, it gets more tolerable. Again, the Exes are cool and actually interesting. But the way they die makes no sense. I get they're appealing to a hipster/gamer crowd, but even still, try and at least make sense with your plot. It's like this is some alternate reality where when people die, they turn into coins. One person kind of points it out, and nobody questions it.
I decided to turn my brain off entirely after that, and when it got to the climax, it was decent. The effects were nice, but still, the story made no sense. Ramona goes back to one of the evil exes, and they don't even explain why. By the end of the movie they must have realized "Oh crap, we need a reason for why she left him" so they made her have a hole in the back of her head like the Deus Ex Matrixna.
I'd give this movie a 4/10, and that's me turning my brain off and being generous. If I had to actually pay to see that movie, I'd have felt ripped off.

I agree with you on that, the first half hour is just a bunch of jump-cuts , but then it picks up
Part of the blandness for the characters stems from the comic books I believe

Hah, I would've ddone that... if any of the shops here had manga sections...
All they have is half a shelf entitled "Graphic Novels" that include about 5-6 DC/Marvel comics and then scott pilgrim...

Well there is one specialist comic shop that has Manga and anime, but it's only whats super-mega-popular, all it has is Naruto, Bleach and Fruits Basket, not to mention it's ridiculously overpriced
33 euro for one volume of any anime, ridiculous.
I gotta get me back to London, 3 for 2, 6 pounds a book, and they had everything...

I used to go to Borders (or whatever it was called) in London, but I think they closed down, they had like, everything which had words on pages there xD
