http://www.feshrine....otball +manager - Original.

IT'S COMING HOME, IT'S COMING HOME

IT'S COMIIIIIING

FOOTBALL'S COMING HOME

Okay, so I'm doing this again, but on 13, as that was the original, and it worked much better.

http://www.guidetofo...ayer-attributes - List of stats. The max is 20 (world class). Messi is world class, and that's why he's joining Reading.

We're going to take an asset/flaw idea on this. We'll take say, 5 or so stats both ways in which you think you'd be good at/bad at, and voila!

CODE Name (First/Last, or nickname):
Date of Birth:
City of Birth:
Nation:
Height:
Weight:
Position:
Dominant foot:
Weak foot ability:
5 'Assets':
5 'Flaws':
Personality:
Extra:

Notes:
You can have more than one nation, and yes, you can pick a 'declared nation'.

The first 2-3 assets/flaws will be the major ones. Alternatively, give a description of how you want to be, ie. 'pacey winger with skills, not the best defender'.

Scary picture of all the positions.
You can have more than one position if it makes sense, but pick the main position first. You can be a GK, just say and I'll get the stats for that up.

Personality is what it says on the tin - are you ambitious? A good sport? Able to deal with pressure? Loyal? A firestarter?

Extra is for things like say, your favourite clubs or player, or anything else that is relevant. If you want to flesh out the physical stats , or other things here instead, go for it. Languages? Useful. If you play, tell me a bit about how you play, or at least, how you'd like to play (cutting in for LONGSHOTS).

Here's an example:

Name (First/Last, or nickname): bblues - your username is fine for this.
Date of Birth: 30/01/1992
City of Birth: Guelph
Nation: Canada/England
Height: 1.78m (use whatever system you want)
Weight: 72kgs (again, whatever system you want)
Position: CM/CDM/CAM
Dominant foot: Right
Weak foot ability: Not great (A solid 7/20)
5 'Assets': Work Rate, Stamina, Tackling, Agility, Determination.
5 'Flaws': Long Throws, Positioning, Concentration, Teamwork, Free Kicks
Personality: Unambitious, quiet, dedicated.
Extra: READING FC bitches, Sunderland and Malaga as secondaries, I hate Fergie. Decent at Spanish, rusty French.

I know it looks a bit daunting, but ask if you have any questions or suggestions.

I hope to see you on the virtual field!

I'll keep the old ones unless people want them changed.

10/10 amirite?

Name: Dec'la Ration of Independence
Date of Birth: 04/07/1776
City of Birth:  Philadelpha
Nation: The United States of America
Height: 6ft 2 in
Weight: 180lb
Position: Striker
Dominant foot: Right
Weak foot ability: Decentish
5 'Assets': Pro as heck as at scoring and getting around stuff.  Good aim and awareness I guess.
5 'Flaws': Terrible at defending and working with teammates because he's all "MANG I GOT THIS"
Personality: Arrogant, filled with pride, but caring of friends
Extra: Speaks only English and went to Texas State even before it was founded, not some cushy Ivy League. Looks like Uncle Sam but totally isn't him. Favorite colors red/white/blue. Thinks this is American football.

Here I was re-reading that topic for fun.

I'm in again.  Can I copy most of it over?

Name (First/Last, or nickname): kirant. Let's just go with that again.
Date of Birth: 15/11/91
City of Birth: Weyburn (If not possible, pick Regina or something)
Nation: Canada
Height: 167 cm
Weight: 72 kg
Position: Defensive Midfield/Defensive Centre
Dominant foot: Right
Weak foot ability: Reasonable.
5 'Assets': Anticipation, Positioning, Decisions, Vision, Composure

5 'Flaws': Leadership, Long Throws, Flair, Balance, Technique

Personality: Calm and quiet professional who insists on performing well.  In essence, the technician on the TVtropes technician/performer scale. Personal results are irrelevant as the team has a solid performance, so stuff like goal scoring points are not the first priority.  This would make him the ideal player to slot in a "coach's dream" game: controlled, low chance affair.  Owns ice water for blood; isn't rattled in the least by most things.  Likes to elevate his intensity in highly competitive matches.  Unconcerned about money and the like; considers the team heavily in his contract.  That is to say if a short term contract is better on the team's wallet than a long term one, he'd sign short.
Extra: Depends what extra languages are possible. I've learned English, French, Latin, Japanese, and Chinese at different points of life. Check off English as primary and possibly broken knowledge of the rest? No favourite club. If the above isn't a sign, the play is at a more "cerebral" level - know where to go, how to act, and what to do. Almost viewing the game as a chess match, if the motif works. On the same level, it makes sense that movements likely end up more simplistic with no sense of flash or drama. "Consummate professional" seems like an appropriate term there.  I tend to model my player information above after certain hockey "two-way forward" players.  They are players which typically can play in any type of situation and perform though to less proficiency at any given role...full court press, even game, or defensive grind...all are possible.  The points above focus slightly at defensive emphasis but also fit the "jack of all trades" mould.  This obviously also means that compared to other players, there's a bit of less "shine" and probably won't have as gaudy stats as some other players made in this topic.

(Edit - Another excellent example would be that the character I'm envisioning is a good soldier but not a good warrior.  If that makes sense...if not, imagine it as a soldier being a combatant who drills and trains to work seriously and in the team formation.  The work is precise, purposeful, and exact.  Meanwhile, a warrior is fierce and wild with brutish force)

Thinks this is American football.

There's a joke like that on a Canadian TV show.  I have to admit I spent far too long laughing at this comment for that reason.

Going to be a bit self-reflective here, but not fully

Name (First/Last, or nickname): Q
Date of Birth: 07/10/91 (not my exact year)
City of Birth: Cleveland, Ohio
Nation: U.S.A.
Height: 6"3 (no I'm not actually this height)
Weight: 175 (or this weight)
Position: AMR, MR, WBR
Dominant foot: Right
Weak foot ability: Decent (12/20?)
5 'Assets': Reflexes, marking, finishing, anticipation, above-average eccentricity?
5 'Flaws': Tackling - high foul chance, technique, dribbling, concentration, decision (essentially, I'm a klutz/prone to silly mistakes)
Personality: Good spirit and competitive but not too into it; able to bite lip and hold back feelings when necessary. Ready to give it one's all, even when there's no point and a game seems lost.
Extra: Nothing comes to mind now.

Sorry this is coming late~! I asked others to sign-up too, they're punks if they don't >_>
