Alright now before anyone jumps the gun here, act maturely and take both sides of the matter into perspective. Don't bite someone's head off for their personal beliefs or opinions.

For example, many memes may have been ponifed, or changed so that there was a pony while still keeping the original intent of the meme. Was this necessarily a problem? Well not necessarily but it can become extremely annoying and frustrating should it get spammed, so in a sense it is a meme within itself, ponification. In my eyes, memes should be used sparingly, as if they were spammed they lose their hilarity factor.

However the problem with this was the simple fact that not everyone watches the show or is a fan. In the case of many memes, they are often used generally for example the awesome smiley. It is not tied to any type of fanbase and therefore not thrusting any fandom onto another, and therefore alright to see every now and then.

Take for example if there was a meme that you really enjoyed, which got changed by a fandom, a fandom that you are either neutral about or dislike, then was used endlessly, so much in fact that the meme itself gets overused and tarnished.

The key problem here is that not everyone is a fan of MLP, and if they see something endlessly, they will either grow to destest it (being that they feel it is something forced onto them) or they themselves would attempt to try out the show. If someone tried to force you to play a game that you had no interest in, wouldn't you feel annoyed? Especially if the person never got the hint and continued to nag you endlessly about it? Gradual dislike of the show would flow through you, would it not? This is the case that we have at present, in my eyes. One fandom is trying to force people into something that those people have no interest in. After so much exposure, then surely people would have given the show a chance by now, correct? If they haven't watched the show then they have clearly no desire to watch it. Further more, anything forced onto them will only breed hatred.

On my end, I don't hate the show, but I hate the fanbase. The show as I have mentioned previously is a good show. I definitely feel annoyed when I see "bronies" throwing pony photos around endlessly. I don't see the point. To me this activity by the fan base leaves a huge negativity on the show as a whole, simply because the fans force their like of the show onto other people.

I know that my post is a long one, but I wanted to make as many of my thoughts present as possible. So I have to ask, after listing my thoughts, what was everyone else's stance on this?

This is exactly how I feel... Well, besides the liking of the actual show, that is, but I don't exactly hate everyone who watches it, I just hate how they turn everything into it.

Like Homestuck isn't the same. I think I see more homestuck stuff on tumblr than ponies. And I follow lots of pony blogs. And I didn't realise posting ponies made one a fag.

Personally, I like the show myself, and I consider myself a brony, but I don't really know what you are talking about with the whole, "bronies are forcing people to like MLP". I know a few bronies, and none of them do that. I DO however, see bronies getting constant hatred over nothing.

I've seen people say things to Grey specifically because he's a brony.

Nobodies done it to me because quite simply, most people don't know I'm a brony.

And when one found out, they made the comment, "Oh no!"

Even as a joke, wouldn't that be referred to as a negative statement?

I personally see nothing wrong with bronies, or MLP. Heck, I watch it with my siblings.

Nor do I think MLP is the "Cancer" of the internet. It's just another cartoon. The same way, bronies are no different than any other fanbase in my opinion.

There will always be people who take their fandom a little too far, but the majority of the bronies I've met are nothing like what you make them out to be. This sounds like a huge stereotype to me.

Things get ponified. Big deal.

There's sonic versions of everything as well. I don't see anyone complaining about that either. Everything has multiple counterparts. MLP just added one more.

I really don't see the problem.

You say bronies are forcing their liking the show on everyone? I say bullspit.
What I see is people trying to force their DISLIKE of MLP on everyone.

The difference is that ponified things are EVERYWHERE but I can't remember a single instance of seeing a Sonicified meme.

I honestly don't care either way for the television show, but the rabid fans disgust me. They're among the most hypocritical, disgusting fanbase I've ever seen, even moreso than Hetalia's "Let's make fun of 9/11!" fanbase. Just because you preach "love and tolerance" doesn't mean you can say whatever the **** you want, you pompous pricks. Just because you like a show that YES, their target audience, in that WHO IT WAS ORIGINALLY DEVELOPED FOR, was little girls, does not make you in ANY WAY BETTER than anyone else. Honestly I don't give a shit what you like, but if you're using it as a way to SHOW HOW ****ING GREAT YOU ARE you can go **** yourself. And yes, it was made for little girls, stop trying to deny it like it means something.

I ****ing LOVE Pokemon, whose target audience is for 7-12 year old children. Does this somehow make me better than you? No? Oh. Really now.

Believe it or not, crazy bronies, "Love and Tolerance" goes both ways. You can't go around yelling that phrase just because someone doesn't like MLP, and then criticize them for NOT liking it, because then you aren't LOVING and TOLERATING their DISLIKE of what you like. You don't see me raiding Anti-Pokemon or Anti-TF2 or Anti-Homestuck sites because BAAAW YOU DON'T LIKE IT. Seriously, grow a pair you ****ing assholes. Yes, saying that makes you a complete ****ing hypocrite, and yes, being a hypocrite is like giving me permission to RIP YOUR BALLS OFF.

Oh yes, and drawing pony porn is like cartoon bestiality. Just sayin'. Don't give me this "IT'S MY FETISH" bullshit because the only ****ing difference is that they're drawn out and not photographs. I've seen pics of human characters downright ****ING the ponies and people still claim it's not bestiality! If that isn't bestiality I don't know what is. No, I don't have respect for people who get off to horses and want to **** them.

Of course I'm not referring to everyone who likes it, but it is incredibly overwhelming how many people are actually like this.

The less morally disgusting parts of the fandom such as posting pony memes everywhere and "pony-fying" is irritating at best for me - the former annoys me for the same reason memes annoy me, and the latter annoys me for the same reason why Ken Sugimori imitators annoy me. It's just overdone unoriginal crap with the same theme.

Bottom line, I feel sorry for my sane friends who happen to be a part of it.

Quite literally, the only bronies I've seen on this forum are Grey n me, so for a topic like this to be made would obviously make us feel as though it were pointed at us.

You say that bronies are shoving their fandom down everyone's throats, but that you aren't talking about us. Then who are you talking about? We're the only bronies here.

Only place I see ponies are in the art thread and in spam land.

Calling MLP the "Cancer" of the internet, whether you were using that as a catchy title or not, is GOING to offend bronies. And for the record, why do you need a "catchy title" if it's in the Maturity domain in the first place? That alone stands out.
