@  Fire Blazer : (18 March 2020 - 03:18 AM) hope everyone is managing ok...
@  kirant : (03 March 2020 - 05:41 AM) New challenger approaching!
@  xcrash1998 : (26 February 2020 - 09:55 AM) Not anymore
@  Mage Girl : (17 February 2020 - 02:33 AM) I can safely say I'm so far the only person to post to this shoutbox in 2020...
@  Fire Blazer : (24 December 2019 - 03:17 AM) naw, it's when the bots make collaborated efforts to crawl places, lol
@  kirant : (23 December 2019 - 05:20 AM) What do we do on Index Day? Give each other bots?
@  Fire Blazer : (16 December 2019 - 01:39 AM) LOL
@  xcrash1998 : (30 November 2019 - 11:07 PM) New fictional holiday "Index Day"
@  Fire Blazer : (28 November 2019 - 08:52 PM) yeah just guest bots and stuff I think :( we really were active once upon a time though...
@  kirant : (26 November 2019 - 03:48 PM) No invasion. I imagine a lot of guest bots visiting for indexing purposes.
@  xcrash1998 : (26 November 2019 - 02:15 PM) How is most people online at 959 for the 8th of October of this year? Is that right? Did I miss something or was there somekind of spambot invasion?
@  xcrash1998 : (26 November 2019 - 02:06 PM) I know what you mean, it gets awkard to post something unrelated to the current conversation, and even if somebody picks up on it, it would just become a huge mess in the c hatbox if a multitude of groups talk about different topics.
@  Fire Blazer : (10 November 2019 - 11:45 PM) especially better imo if you want to update on a topic but like only occasionally (e.g. a project you're working on or a let's play of a game)
@  Fire Blazer : (10 November 2019 - 11:44 PM) it's hard for me to explain precisely why but forums just like work better for meaningful discussion over a longer period of time ig
@  Fire Blazer : (10 November 2019 - 11:44 PM) but that's def just not hte same ig, idk
@  Fire Blazer : (10 November 2019 - 11:44 PM) yeah, you can also kind of respond at your own pace on forums. Discord conversations are often like... it's awkward to respond to something that happened a while ago, especially if the server is active, but even just in general. since you sort of need to keep track of multiple conversations at once at times, and it's not like it has a good reply/quote system ala forums, closest thing really is to copy/paste or screenshot the text you're responding to and then type a response below
@  Elwood : (09 November 2019 - 11:29 AM) Adding on to what's been said, I just enjoy the order and structure of the forums. You can look through the threads and know exactly what people are talking about. Conversation get lost and buried on discord which is why I'm not a big fan of it.
@  kirant : (06 November 2019 - 05:31 AM) I enjoy that part of forums too. They become niche communities where you can have very specialized conversations as opposed to the cluttered mess in Discord.
@  Ezra : (31 October 2019 - 01:17 AM) Yeah, part of me wishes I could go back to the times forums were more prevalent. I really enjoyed how even several different forums based off the same franchise could feel so different. It's not like what we now is bad though, I just feel nostalgic for old times.
@  Fire Blazer : (30 October 2019 - 06:39 AM) also forums in general are just not as prevalent, there are so many other ways to interact these days, like Twitter, FB, Tumblr, etc., where you can just throw your thoughts into the void. I think that's the real issue and that the only people rly interested in forums these days are either super dedicated to whatever they're about, have a specific reason/need to (e.g. support forums), or grew up with them and are thus attached to the idea enough to continue to try and use them (this was kinda me for a while lol but things happen, I couldn't keep it up forever)

A practice RP is exactly what it sounds like. An RP designed to allow people to test their skills and to just have some fun. It's pretty much an RP with no storyline, minimal character development, and mindless battles. You don't often need a character bio sheet or any of that sorts, just jump right in.

Shyn stood in the deserted alleyway. All was quiet. The voices had ceased. Shyn began to walk down the corner, into the darkest part of the alley. His hand casually brushed his dagger on his side, a crude steel dagger. Part of him yearned for a fight, one that would test his skills as a fighter, assassin, and even as a thief.

It was dark, al right. To be perfectly honest, I had no idea what time of the day it could be. All I know was that it was late, and that I just finally got out of an incredibly busy day at the restaurant. But that's no big deal. It's satisfying to see people enjoy food you made. But boy are there some strange people in the place sometimes. Like that fat guy today. I guess he was on a diet though, since he only wanted some vegetables. Yeah, things like that happen. But that's not the weirdest, though. The weirdest thing is that a lot of things have been stolen from our kitchen. Not food or anything, but a lot of knives and such. I don't know why anyone would want to steal all that, but the weirdest part is that I now have to take this butcher knife from home to work and back from work to home.

So here I am, walking in the dark, with a huge-ass butcher knife. Or knife... knife sounds like too little a word to describe this huge a thing. Anyway, at least it gives a safe feeling. I don't suppose anyone would be crazy enough to attack a black, muscled black man with a damn large butcher knife blade thing in his hands.

OOC: Check the Ragnarok character sign-up thread for a biography on Leon, which is the character I'm RPing as.

Shyn froze; he heard a noise coming from the end of the alley. He carefully twisted the knife in his hand, preparing to attack. It was too dark to see exactly where the person was, but Shyn prepared to strike this possible thief or murderer down.

((Hm...FElover said he wanted OOC in parentheses, it might not be a bad idea to practice that?))

(( Fine with me. ))

Damn, it sure is cold out here. I probably should've taken a cloak or something with me. I guess I should just keep walking 'till I'm home and go have a feast of my own... Hey, that's not even all that bad an idea. As I kept thinking about having a large feast on my own, with a warm fire in my own house, I started to relax. I put my arms on my back, closed my eyes, and just kept on walking home, letting my guts, surroundings and feeling lead me. After all, all this training allowed me to master this weird ability of mine. Me and Mother Nature? We're like one, you know. And on one side it's weird, but on another side it might be a gift from my mom. She died giving birth to me, so I never knew what emptiness there was. All I knew was that there was some empty spot inside of me. As I developed this odd skill, that spot got filled up slowly. It must be my mother. It just has to be. Forgetting about that and thinking about the feast, I just kept walking, and walking... and walking.

It is almost time..my newest prey was walking, rather stealthily, but not enough for my well trained eyes and ears to sense. The thrill of the hunt was exciting, blood gets pumping, the gears in my head are turning..only during the excitement that is combat. Leaping down from my observational spot, I quietly started following this newest prey. Hopefully, this one proves more entertaining than the last.

((We're using our Ragnarok characters, right?))

((You can, but it's not a requirement.))

Shyn froze for the second time; it seemed that a third person was involving himself. Shyn cursed, and quickly muttered a quick chant. He felt a large sum of his energy fade, as he himself faded into darkness. He was unseen to others eyes, but at a large pace of energy.

What the hell is this? The smell of chicken, roasted beef and lots of other delicacies? Oh yeah! I really can't wait to eat! It's just a pity it's still such a long way to go. And sadly, the tension in my body seems to have become a little bit stronger. I have no idea why, though. But generally when I get a feeling like this, someone's up to no good or something bad is going to happen. Usually I can predict where enemy attacks come using this ability. Now all I feel is danger. It's not just in one place. There must be multiple parties involved in that what's about to happen, whatever that may be.

Multiple targets. Multiple prey. Why not let them encounter each other first? I might as well just sit back and let them go at it first. This smell..a feast. This must be where one of them is headed. Maybe I should just give them a scare, introduce myself and join the one with the food..but then again, my blades and I desire a bit of fun first.

(( Hmm, you must've misinterpreted something. At home, Leon still has to actually make the food... Him already smelling it was figurative speech. ))

((Ah, touche. Well played good sir. but maybe I can..read minds? Nah, that's just silly....The Feast is referring to my feasting on the conflict that is to come))

Keough leaned out of the window on the second story of the inn, bleary-eyed and angry from being woken by some rather loud snoring from the room beside him. "Ah, well, might as well see what the nightlife's like down here..." He thought, "Guess I'll just have to skip out a bit early." Gathering his stuff up in a large haversack, he jumped down from his room, landing with a muffled thud behind a man who was obviously preoccupied with thoughts elsewhere... But he had a rather large knife.
Pimp my wyvern.

"Yeow! What in blazes was that!"

I turned around, only to see there was this crazy dude who apparently enjoys jumping out of inns or something like that. That, or he's an angel who fell from the sky. I figure it's the former, though. Either way, I cannot be bothered to let myself get distracted by random weird people. Maybe this danger I sensed wasn't so dangerous after all. So I continued what I was doing - walking home, thinking about eating.
