They're all generally good, but stop saving them in jpeg format. Save as Pngs or gifs.

That's odd. I had originally saved them using one or the other. Must investigate...

You might've saved them as BMP's, when you upload it to something like Photobucket, they make it into a JPG because of the file size, just save them as a PNG, and you'll be fine.
As for the sprites, loking pretty good, though I can't tell the finer details due to the JPG look. ><

Thanks for the tip! This is the first time I've displayed my work online, so I'm still learning the ropes. I'll try reuploading them and see what happens then.

I like the draculaic look of the first one in your second post, adds atmosphere
and I like the third one even though it seems his head is a little cut of up at the top, keep practicing though, these are quite good for early doors

Thanks! The first one is actually my Fire Emblem-ization of Joseph Curwen from H.P. Lovecraft's novel "The Case of Charles Dexter Ward". It was part of a series of sprites, but due to technological difficulties only this one survived.
I intend to do an overhaul of all my sprites once I have a better understanding of splicing.
