Hmm well agai an opening statement, "I'm glad you took the criticism relatively well despite dismissing most of what I wrote as irrelevant"

This topic still is about homosexuality. The reason I hauled Christianity out is because I knew you were a follower and I wanted to compare your comments with your religion.

While I strongly disagree with both your religion and your attitude towards homosexuality I do admire the fact you stuck to your opinion instead of pretending you weren't serious in your former posts and pretending to agree with everyone. Just as a point of note I usually tend to disagree with the original poster since it generates discussion. Though most of the time I actually do disagree (such as now)

Hmm polite? I find debates/arguments are alot more interesting when we leave that part out. I mean obviously we don't have F*** as every second word or any other of it's like but I find open discussion much more progressive since one can express their own opinion.

What does this have to do the whole homosexuality topic?

Well the whole post outlined some flaws in your argument in being anti-homosexual. I mean you state "unnatural" as a reason against but much of what humans do is unnatural in terms if the rest of the environment. Your brainwashing argument was flawed as most religions still target young children and the emotionally down (depressed life crisis etc) and as for the "daddy" quoite you stated there was no evidence it was genetically linked. Yet in the same sense there is no evidence that your god exists either. No evidence does not neccessarily equal force.

Also note that the only reason I brought in Christianity is because I knew you were Christian, and guess where I got that information? That's right this topic.

@Leo; Hmm I'm warped, or as people who have seen me comment on love have said "asexual" which I guess could be homosexual at a disturbing level..... xD

I don't get it... since when has this topic been about bashing Christianity. I recall this topic being about homosexual marriage in general, not faith. And besides, in a topic like these, there must always be a dissenter... must I agree with everyone? If so, it would be a stupid and dull topic... and I am sticking with my opinions, despite all your attempts in attacking my faith.

I actually see it the other way around. While reason is indeed the enemy of faith, Christianity isn't what you make it out to be... it is a lot more complex.

Thank you very much. At least you can respect my point of view, even if it is not favorable from the others. I don't know why people always attack Christianity when it comes to controversial topics like this...

Here's some stuff I found regarding homosexuality and genetics... it should be interesting.

Nope, I'm still here, alive and well, and none of your points made sense to me at all. While I am at a big disadvantage for not having English as my first language and therefore making me quite inarticulate, I am not done yet. I will do more research on this topic for its sake. I wished we met under better circumstances, for we only got acquainted with each other just now. So how are you? I'm wraith89 as you know... unfitting username for someone of my faith, I know. You are new here, right?

What does this have to do the whole homosexuality topic?
Absence of evidence =/= evidence for absence. Ever.

Let's all try and be civil here instead of bashing other people's beliefs. I do not bash others for what they believe but I am rather stating that I think homosexuality just doesn't work out. If you want to bash my beliefs, do it elsewhere, maybe in spam land or my PM and all. Go attack my faith your pitiful "evidences against Christianity", but you will not phaze me. But even then, WHY are you attacking my faith anyhow? You have no reason to do so... at least not in this topic.

Definately. It's always more fun when there's lots of different opinions.

About Christianity vs. Homosexuality, I would think what parts of the Bible you interperet makes a difference. After all, did not Jesus teach tolerance, acceptance and love for your neighbour?
Leviticus on the other hand does forbid "two men gaining carnal knowledge of each other". But on the same page, God forbids eating of shellfish and crop-rotation. you don't often hear people talking about the latter rules.

I would say that Christianity is doing the opposite of good when it promotes hate and predjudice above love and understanding. Which the feeling I get when talking to some anti-gay Christians.

Those sites are indeed interesting. I would however put more trust in the first one as the American Psychological Association is a respected institution, and is basing it's view on a number of thourough investigations. The latter one is an organisation seeking to "cure" homosexualty, so is obviously going to have bias. It mentions only one incomplete study, whcih is up to interpretation ( I would interpret the results very differently).

Note the line in the APA page;
"Many think that nature and nurture both play complex roles; most people experience little or no sense of choice about their sexual orientation."

As I was saying, most modern experts are of the opinion that no choice is nvolved for the individual.

I'm glad that you do not judge people on their attitudes... Aya-Tsuki is a very nice person when you get to know her (though more a little odd xD )

I'm not against it at all. In fact, I think that God hates gays is Bullcrap, and I'm Christian Luthern. I refuse to believe that God is against gays. If people try to show me Bible evidence, I say that it's most likely a mistranslation or typo. More likely than God disliking Gay people. God is above that.

Well the thing is homosexuality and (some) religions conflict. I mean really would anyone like to be told they can't do something because an authority they do not believe or followed told them they couldn't?

If you look at most anti-gay lists there's always a religious "god" or "natural" comment somwhere. I actually think that discussion on religion could be done pretty well as long as people don't loose control and start demanding others follow their views. I mean most people who have posted seem to think so so far.

It's the same thing with homosexuality if everyone acknowledges that the issue can be debated and that all perspectives presented are just that a perspective then it can work (me thinks) though I admit I tend to be highly flammable (flaming) in my responses.

Your right Shu I think that the Christians god, who they say love ALL of his children wouldn't hate gays. I mean if being gay was wrong why would so many ppl be gay?
