It's currently a WIP (duh, no shading on the face), but any tips or critique are most welcome. If anyone has any advice for shading the face as well, please tell me. Shading in any form isn't my strong suit, and dealing with five shades on the face doesn't make it any easier.

For the armor, reference Sain's armor. The hair could be referenced by a combination of Hector's bangs and the Wil's hair. I'm drawing a complete blank for a shading reference for the face. >_<
But... I do think that referencing anyone's face could help though.

Here's an update. I fixed his cheek, his eyes, his left shoulder pad, and did some shading on his armor as well as added some very basic shading to his face. Getting better?

But IMHO the face still bulges out too far to the left (OPV) but of course... it's still a WIP tongue.gif

Yes it looks better. I suggest referencing Sain's or Kent's armor trim. They have basic trim so their trim should be good to reference. The head also has a slightly different angle than the base, but that should be that much of a problem after better face shading. And I agree with Shadow, the left (OPV) cheek is a little too bulgy.
Hmm... his eyes are also at a different angle than his head angle. His left (OPV) eye is a little to far right as well. Custom is hard, but I know you can do it. wink.gif

Still too bulgy? Dang. Although just now I noticed that his temple is really freaky. I'll fix that. I'll move his eye over, too. Any tips on how to make them face the same way as his head?

Well... from the style of the hair... I suggest referencing Ephraim for the shape and shading of the head...

It's not too bad so far. I like it.

A few of things though.
1. His collar seems to be at a different angle then the rest of his body
2. His shoulder pads look like they are very tight on the rest of the armor.
3. The left (our left) eye needs to be move <- way one pixel, otherwise he'll look cross-eyed.

I really like how he's coming along. Personally I think the shading on the face so far is near perfect. Just need to add the other shades and he's good to go. smile.gif Can't wait for the finished product.

School started up, and I've gotten really busy pretty much instantly because of that, so I haven't had a ton of time to work on him. But here's another update! The one on the left has just basic changes, while the one on the right has some really big changes from last time. Things you do/don't like and tips on how to make them better still appreciated, of course.

The computer I'm on right now has fail resolution so I'll give better comments before, I would look at somebody like Kent's armor's trim and compare to see how to make a good one, also the neck shading is improper and the outline needs work in a lot of places so before you continue I'd recommend doing that.
