To be quite honest, Pokemon X and Y are the most original Pokemon game names in a long time. We've seen colors and arguably precious metals/stones, but never letters.
In any case, I'm pretty pessimistic about Pokemon at this point. It has long felt like a cash cow Nintendo is milking rather than a game the developers really care about to me. The few Pokemon they've shown are actually pretty good, though.

Well it may seem like a cash cow but when you look at it, I mean the fan base is going no where, and if they just stopped making games for it people would be unhappy o3o I just wonder how long it'll really go. I wonder if we'll have 1000 pokemon one day.

I myself will probably buy Y if I get a 3DS. The legendary just looks cooler to me. The Pokemon look somewhat strange, but in my opinion, better than a few B/W Pokemon.
I like how it isn't "Oh you can't get a single old Pokemon till you beat the elite four! Aren't you happy?" From what I can tell from the commercial it's not that anyway.
Also, full 3D is nice, haven't had a full 3D game that wasn't just battles since XD: Gale of Darkness. (That was a good game, just saying.)

Hm... sounds allot like wonder cards, if you ask me. But, if your not talking about just Pokemon and items, I think that'd be cool.

Not really because the Pokémon's data is already in the game's code they just make it accessible through events (It's like dlc). With dlc they can add stuff that isn't already programmed in the game.

So, like completely new items or Pokemon without a new game? Sounds interesting...
I still like the idea of new areas via DLC, that would be amazing.
I wonder if they'll improve the multiplayer mission mode thing. I'd kindof just like to run around in my friends world, without the mission constraint and maybe being able to enter buildings.
Heck, maybe even being able to battle wild Pokemon from the friend's world, making finding a friend who has the opposite game more desirable.
Just a thought.
EDIT: Double battling certain trainers along side your friend would be fun too, because I don't have enough friends where I live who like Pokemon so I can't do a team double battle... ever.

Yeah, I know, but in practice there's not a lot of difference, except that they can theoretically give you more stuff. (And charge you for it, as well. I'd take a game already shipped with everything on it than get it later by paying again.)

It'd feel really weird though... Would you be able to battle a friend who never got this Pokemon? If it's adding completely new data to the game, would't that kinda break something in multiplayer?
