I'm struggling to see if it's worth attempting a full FE build in it though as there are certain flaws which I'm not sure I can easily fix for my own purposes (a big one is stat cap seems universal as oppose to enforced for each unit)...but it's a fun and intuitive system. I could get a working map with all the trimmings (opening, closing, event triggers) going in a couple hours.

I'm gonna leave this thread up, despite my name change. If any of you want to get a sprite from me, just shoot me a message or something, okay? I'll post all the frames for you on whatever thread you have dedicated to your romhack.

Oh wow, they're animated! That's pretty cool. For some reason animated GIFs of sprites still impress me a bit to this day, haha. It was one of my fave parts of FE spriting and such back in the day.

As a little bit of critique for the first one (but only if you want it), it feels like the mouth is moving "up" a bit compared to when it's closed. Like normally the top of the lip moves up a little and the bottom loves down a little when you open it, right? but his mouth looks like it opens up above, towards the nose, it just looks a tiny bit weird. (I guess the chin line or w/e should also move down slightly because when you open your mouth a bit, the chin moves too? maybe reference one of FE7's sprite sheets to see how it works exactly)

Also, sorry for not responding for a while, I've been gone from the forums for a while! I can also rename your thread to "Paz's Spriting" or some alternative if you want, just let me know. (I think if you edit the first post you can do that too, but I'm not sure anymore, haha)

Thanks Blazer, that sounds very helpful! Sorry I was gone for so long myself, I just wasn't doing many mugs as I've been getting work done in the guts of my own hack. You don't have to rename this thread though, I'm probably gonna put up a new thread for my hack soon, once I figure out how to make custom battle animations of my own. It's not so much a problem of doing the work as it is finding all the necessary spritesheets to reference from, you know?

Ah ok, no problem. And yeah, back in the day I think I just downloaded and opened up a lot and I'd just copy/paste reference poses at the bottom or corner of my MS Paint so I could use them easily

anyhow, it's good you're getting work done on your hack, good luck~!
