I'm struggling to see if it's worth attempting a full FE build in it though as there are certain flaws which I'm not sure I can easily fix for my own purposes (a big one is stat cap seems universal as oppose to enforced for each unit)...but it's a fun and intuitive system. I could get a working map with all the trimmings (opening, closing, event triggers) going in a couple hours.

Well, if you're as determined to get better as you're showing, you'll almost definitely get much better. =)

And hit me up with the sprite sheet to critique whenever, personally I think something that moves more is more worthy but yeah~ (I'd critique ones you posted already but I don't want to if they're outdated XP)

I'm just curious if you have ever heard of making your sprites and showcasing them with transparent backgrounds. It's not much work, and I can show you what I mean, if you're interested.

Woah dude, that one's awesome! I love how he plays around with the spear in his animations. The part where he drops it is especially cool/funny, haha. I really dig it, hope you do more and keep sharing. biggrin.gif

If by "miss animation" you mean the animation that plays when the attack doesn't hit, it's actually his crit XD. I think the final boss of TLP had one though.

So, taking another quick look back though this, a thought came to mind.

I'm involved in a P&P (or text and electrons) Fire Emblem game on another site, and there is a female mercenary among the player group who could benefit from the use of a frame from your animation (with credit, of course).

Haha the one in TLP had to have a different one because the animation got too complex and the game couldn't handle it, sadly. It stinks but whatever, little I can do about it. And yeah GBA Fire Emblem animations were cooler because they did less practical/realistic but generally cooler stuff. In the newer games the animations are a little bit more realistic--no fading out swordmaster clones, throwing a shield up and having it spin around over and over before catching it, disappearing like the Rogue in FE8, or jumping around the screen like Eliwood with Durandal.

Don't even get me started on Lyn's epic clone image maneuvers or Hector wielding a super huge axe with one hand and spinning it around no less. O_o

The shading is alot better, but I'm not so sure about the blur frames.
