I removed the other shades from the hair and re shaded the border.

Also was the image far over 16 colours (A little more than 32), so I fixed that.

Removed stray pixels.

Vaguely shaded need to add details to the hair

e.g. Small strands or singe hair lines

I will try to finish it up tomorrow since now it is 1:14 AM on my clock. Well, this is going to be fun waking up for church tomorrow... today.

(EDIT: 1:28 AM. I forgot to mention I recoloured to 15 colours so you can  add 1 extra shade if you need.)

The new shades (especially the lightest one) are a darker than the original ones (except the middle shade)

I wouldn't recommend to go to higher on a single shade, its better if the stay as close to the same colour as possible.

Well that's my opinion, and I am not a very good spriter (still a little good tough) so don't really value my opinion, I mean you can always test out the shades before making a final decision.

Added an extra shade to have a better transition.

So, I attempted to add details which you can also see on some minor changes in the picture before, but any more than that and I started to look horrible.

So I used some paint brush tools. Yes MS paint. This was the result before and after re quantizing.

Before:

After:

I looks weird, but after looking at it a little I saw that I had some good outlines of where the shading should be to look more realistic.

So I will try to improve it that way another time.

And the portrait really looks good btw.

And I am also quite good at making blinking frames if you should need those.
