I dominated this match. Once I started getting great scientists out, and boosted my science per turn with their unique building, and eventually getting +4000 total science per great scientist allowed me to have a large lead in terms of science which allowed me to make better units.

Nidhogg, PC, July 18th. For Nidhogg, I beat the single player thing. Can't really beat it as the game is more focused on multiplayer, but it does have a single player mode.
Saints Row 4, PC, July 2nd.

It doesn't because the game is called "The Last Promise" not "Fire Emblem: The Last Promise"
^don't mind me just being silly (also I'm starving and will probably get irrationally irritated at everything until I can eat >_>; so really just ignore me)

Anyhow, time for an update from me. First of all, I like to comment on the games I beat and didn't comment on the last update of mine, so:
BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger, Steam, June 16th, 2014
Punch-Out!! Featuring Mr. Dream, Wii U VC, June 18th, 2014
BlazBlue: Continuum Shift -Extend-, PS3, June 20th, 2014
BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma, PS Vita, June 24th, 2014
Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc, PS Vita, June 25th, 2014
Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment, PS Vita, July 4th, 2014
Shovel Knight, Wii U, July 5th, 2014
Recettear, Steam, July 6th, 2014
BlazBlue - fighting games, not too much to say. good stuff.
Punch-Out - terribly difficult, still really fun. Nice to play on the GamePad. I enjoyed it quite a bit.
Danganronpa - Great game, relatively high up there on the games that I enjoy (though I tend to really enjoy a lot of games, so eh). Thanks to bb talking with me I enjoyed it even more. Now Danganronpa 2 is out, so that's next. Danganronpa: Another Episode is also a thing. I'm diggin' it all. It's a nice and pretty unique series IMO that has got interesting characters and personalities along with plenty of plot twists and other elements that make mystery/thrillers great (and it's not just a visual novel which is also nice).
Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment - ugh, super repetitive and silly fan service and other stuff, not a great game overall but I'm still an SAO fan and I spent a lot on the LE so I still enjoyed it. But if it weren't for the SAO elements it wouldn't hold up as a game too well, at least not after being so repetitive. Maybe if there was more technicality to it and it wasn't so grindy and bleh like the offline MMORPG it is, it'd be different, but once you get used to seeing all the flashy cool animations, it gets pretty dull. I kinda had to force myself to beat it, almost. >_>
Shovel Knight - great game, what indies aspire to or something. Awesome platforming, awesome music, solid challenge, memorable and catchy and I'm down to buy the 3DS version and do a playthrough eventually, because it was just a straight-up enjoyable game. I like the focus on gameplay and the good execution in general, it's simple but so enjoyable. Those kinda games are missing nowadays (at least compared to the days of retro games or whatever).
Recettear - great as well, a bit tough and simple but still enjoyable and maybe even a little cute, haha. It's actually kinda surprisingly deep and though it's not heavy on story and the combat is nothing to brag about, it's definitely a solid and enjoyable title (with some catchy music and nice writing to boot haha).
Now for the games that I've beaten SINCE then (my last post).
----------------------------------------------
Resident Evil: Revelations, 3DS, August 8th, 2014
Mario & Luigi: Dream Team, 3DS, August 9th, 2014
IQ Test, Wii U, August 15th, 2014
The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass, DS, August 17th, 2014
Tales of Xillia, PS3, August 18th, 2014
Tales of Xillia 2, PS3, September 7th, 2014
Moon Chronicles: Episode 1, 3DS, September 7th, 2014
BlazBlue: Clone Phantasma**, 3DS, September 8th, 2014
Dr. Mario Express***, DSiWare, September 8th, 2014
Resident Evil: Revelations - Great game, just wish the sequel would also come to the 3DS or Wii U. A shame we're not getting it, I might have to pass up on the game as a result. :\
Mario & Luigi: Dream Team - a solid game but I don't think it's as good as the previous titles, sadly. It carries over some enjoyable elements but the tutorials are pretty annoying and the dialog didn't feel as good either... also felt like I was being interrupted and led on ridiculous amounts of stupid detours all the time. In fact, it almost felt like 80% of the game was just a detour. It wasn't horrible but the execution just wasn't there, I think. They need to go back to what made Partners in Time and Bowser's Inside Story a success, and maybe not make the game so "kiddish" since this one even felt more childish than previous ones--you know, kids are usually trying to grow up so I'd rather Nintendo goes on the slightly more deeper side than the slightly less deep side and I don't think they have anything to lose. Idk if that made sense but whatever. Dream Team was solid, but probably not the best entry in the series or something I can highly recommend.
IQ Test - Ugh stupid Wii U eShop game I got scammed into buying ughhh I ended up bashing the game because it was awfully designed and way overpriced (I think I got it for $3.99 or so but the retail price is $4.99 but it has the content of like, a free game, >_> you just answer like 20 stupid "trick" questions (some of them aren't even tricky and are just plain simple or stupid), anyhow there was kind of a reason I did it but whatever, it's over with now so that's that.
The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass - Oh man I wonder how many years it took me to beat this finally haha, maybe 5? Maybe more? Who knows, but I'm glad I finally beat it. It was okay overall but the touch controls were annoying as was the backtracking. Overall the game just felt lacking and not as interesting or enticing as previous games. I didn't really get the story either (probably doesn't help that I kept not playing it for months at a time) but overall it was just dull and I kinda had to force myself to finish it. :\
Tales of Xillia - My second run-through, this time doing Milla's side instead of Jude's side. Good and I got to experience some new things, I also got to learn how to play Milla better which was fun, and I think I liked and appreciated the game a little more after beating it. A solid game overall, and as usual gets better towards the end, but the combat system isn't as suited to solo play which is sort of a let-down.
Tales of Xillia 2 - Tons of reused assets, tons of backtracking or visiting/revisiting those places with reused assets, lots of interruptions thanks to the stupid debt system, didn't have that same feeling of exploration or mystery as other games IMO, the game balance was kinda bad with the main character being broken and other characters having rather significant offensive weaknesses... it's not the worst Tales of game and it's not terrible but it had a lot of things that set it back from being a great game. The story was rather dark and picked up a bit but even then I feel like it didn't execute some elements of the plot as well as it should have--it had a lot more potential and some things it didn't seem to expand on either (like the ancient civilization they erased or whatever).
In the end it just felt like a bunch of ideas that were kinda done but never really came together to make one amazing story that left you thinking afterwards. The music wasn't too memorable either since a lot of it was reused but from what I do remember of the new music, it wasn't bad. Not a single tune outside of a certain humming one really stood out to me though. I didn't like the customization system (too hard to find crap to make those items), the shop selections were kinda lame especially compared to how Xillia did it (I actually liked that part of Xillia), the way to get artes and skills didn't feel as good either, was kinda annoying to keep switching to make sure characters were getting elements or whatever, and ignoring the story/character sidequests and the stupid sidequests I don't think the game was actually that long.
On the positive side, the combat WAS fun at times since you've got an OP character and you get to use returning characters as well as Gaius, and you fight some cool bosses, but it also has the same solo play setbacks as Xillia and makes it even worse due to the attack type resistance/power hit system where unless you've got a natural advantage against an enemy or something you kinda need help to be able to effectively attack them... idk, I enjoyed it but it didn't feel as good as some others.
Moon Chronicles: Episode 1 - a good game with good graphics but I think some cutscenes might've been slightly upgraded versions of pre-rendered cutscenes originally set for the DS... which would explain why they didn't look too good lol. The characters aren't too memorable and the story is rather simple and there's no reason to get attached to anything and the bosses and other elements aren't so exciting or anything to get you pumped (compare with say, when Samus encounters Ridley in Metroid games... now that's kinda exhilarating, haha). It seems to borrow basic ideas from the Metroid Prime series which is nice, and it was a nice quick run and I'll probably try out episode 2 eventually, but it doesn't really do anything to impress. The biggest impressing point are the graphics and that's moreso because "it's a 3DS game, so we don't expect as much".
BlazBlue: Clone Phantasma - Okay so the game is pretty freaking simple but whatever. I think it might be a couple bucks overpriced but for what it is... it's okay. Nothing more. You just hack away at "clones" of BlazBlue characters. The attack voices and stuff are in Japanese and there's no subtitles for those, even, lol. The story is like, less than the arcade mode of a normal BlazBlue game. It's super quick to beat. I don't regret trying it out, but it's nothing to really talk about in the end, being only like, $5.99 and clearly having a very small amount of effort put into it (no offense game creators I know it's not easy to make games, but it is what it is). :\
Dr. Mario Express - Just a DSiWare game I picked up for free, Dr. Mario is super freaking hard and I struggled to get a grasp on the basics, but after playing for a while I started to get it. Despite that the CPU is ridiculously good and it's kind of insane, if not unfair. The game takes super quick thinking and planning and foresight and who knows what else, I was just satisfied with playing on a relatively low level and struggling to beat that much--hey, I know when I'm beat. If level 5 is a challenge for me, then that's that. XD

Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception (PS3) - 5 September 2014
Shadow of the Colossus (PS2) - 6 September 2014
Shadow of the Colossus is just awesome, already beaten it a LOT, but y'know, bored.
As for the other games? I did a single level for Kirby, nothing for Ys7 DMC and FF13-2, and got the the final boss of Lightning Returns before resetting.
ffffffffffff.
