Welcome back to Let's Play: The Last Promise. Chapter 15. Obviously.
This is one of my favorite chapters. Expect this to be long.

Then we have this guy who shows up.



Lord Perry! He was mentioned a few times before. Anakin trust him.
As for Kelik...



"...Well? Is there little man?"



What's my defensive stat again?



Generic Archers always get the short stick.
We've seen Tekun before!

This happens, more enemies come. Perry is pissed.

Then follows...well.

Some people hate it.
Some people like it.
But it's dramatic.


Honestly. I like stuff like what's about to happen
because then I can act dramatic too!

I think I over did it...




It's mentioned a few times but Ether is raw energy, everyone has it.
It's complicatedish. It's typically stuff you shouldn't screw with.



Um...This guy shows up kinda. And then we get the fortune teller.
We need to field Althares.



Here's our set up. Let's get started with the chapter.



Here's something that bothered me with this chapter.

Now, I'm biased and I'll admit this because it's my character but
when you start the chapter Tekun is sort of just there.

He magically appears in that spot and it was a bit of a curve ball.

Granted we've seen Tekun show up all over the place.

Chapter 5x, Chapter 12. He gets mentioned in Chapter 7.

It irks me when there isn't a proper introduction to a unit when
you acquire them. The next chapter has exactly this with a character
named Ben.

Also we're introduced to Emma who apparently is caught in the middle with
this situation. It's not really elaborated upon but she must have had trouble
with Count Perry.




Okay guys. Tekun is my unit. His portrait was touched up upon by...
someone. I'm not quite sure but they did an awesome job.

Tekun's animation is my doing, both myrmidon and swordmaster.

Tekun, as a unit, is going to max strength, skill and speed and should do
decently in his other stats before promotion. There's no doubt he's a strong
unit.

However I notice that he doesn't get alot of use. It probably has to do
with the abundance of sword users at this point.

As for Perry here, Perry is a strong boss with a strong weapon.



I'm going to put this next part in Spoilers. That way people who want to read
this can read it. It'll be serious stuff. No humor to be found.

On Chapter 15 and Perry

Alright. Reading so you're this. Have some trivia.

A long time ago this mod used to be called Tactics Universe but this is
common knowledge in my opinion.

This chapter still reflects alot of what was in the original story line and is
one of the few that hasn't radically changed too much in its overall structure.

I'm sure that if you are familiar with Fire Emblem 7 at all and have played
this game have noticed (or maybe not) that this chapter has ALOT
of similarities with Chapter 14: False Friends. That's the chapter with Erik.

Originally the Mod was set on the continent of Elibe and was suppose to
be prequel set in the distant past. Perry was originally a descendent of Erik,
which is why the portraits look really similar.

The chapter map was the same set up as it was in 14. (And incidentally in chapter 4 of FE 6.)

And then there's also Emma, the troubadour. It was also originally noted that
the Marquees of that particular land had a thing for them.

The map has changed, the enemies haven't altered much and the boss is still
a backstabber. If anything its a homage to Fire Emblem 7. References are
sometimes cool.

It should be noted however that because there is a map change you need to tackle
this map differently. Also you recruit Tekun in this. It sort of reminds me of how
Rutger was recruitable in FE6.

On Tekun: Part I

If you're reading this you're going to be reading about my character since
he doesn't get any real onscreen development save for a few things which are rather vague.
This is about to get wall of texty, if you don't want to read, once again the button is available to click.

"Hate is a place where a man who can't stand sadness goes."

Tekun, The Immortal Soldier of Solem, is a man whose hobbies include swordplay and collecting injuries.
He`s a man rumored to be immortal due to his uncanny ability to survive situations that have killed those he’s worked with in mass.
More often than not in those situations Tekun emerges where survivors often appear to be in the single digits or sometime later down the road in another battlefield or under another employer.

It`s cliché and vague to say that Tekun has a dark past and more often than not characters like Tekun sometimes appear to be
"Mr. Badass" for no other reason than appearance alone with maybe some stats to back him up. There’s a somewhat vague past about “Insert X tragedy” there too.

I think it`s bad that Tekun gets lumped in with a lot of the other characters who have a revenge motive for fighting (Asch, Itsuke, Lyam (who will be appearing down the road), ect)

Since I am Tekun`s creator, I can fill in details that the supports don`t bother touching upon since most seem to be rather general.
Tekun is the Immortal Soldier but really, a title means nothing if you don’t elaborate upon it.

Tekun is not only a revenge case but also falls into another category of character, a character with a daddy problem. (Shon, Liquid, Rex).
Tekun’s case differs in this case because Tekun is vengeful and absolutely despises his father.
His father on the other hand, does not wholly despise him, despite the fact he’s a horrible person and a horrible father.

His father did not fight in the war nor does he appear in the mod and is mentioned maybe once in an A support.
But to give some insight, Tekun has been hunting him down on his own initiative. He doesn`t want to involve others in his vendetta because it`s an ugly matter that’s, needless to say, personal.
That and he doesn’t want other people to help him fight his battles or to see just how low he’d stoop for revenge.

Part II (My Headcanon: Past)

Tekun was born into a violent clan of bandits in Alicia that roamed deep within the mountains of the country.
Their past times were pillaging, robbery and pillaging.
Tekun was adopted into the group in infancy and raised under their leader, a cruel Berserker by the name of Kawl.

Tekun knew his mother for a brief period of time but by the time he was five she`d since disappeared from his life and was assumed killed,
but from what he understood she used to be a Pegasus Rider who had suffered injury and was forced to give up the lance.
His father never spoke of her and when asked refused to comment upon her.

When he was old enough to lift one, he was taught how to use a sword.
Battle was exceedingly common in the cold north and his father had all of the intent on hardening his adopted son into the fiercest and coldest of warriors.
Killing and pillaging were routine and to the child these were daily chores.
Tiring work that for one reason or another had to be done though he didn’t know why.

His father was not a loving father, or a caring one though he was not abusive.
He often viewed his son as more of a tool than a child.
His only concern was ensure that Tekun became another useful addition to the clan he forged in the lands of the Pegasai.
The child relied on others in the clan to teach him, and fortunately some of the men, though amoral weren’t wicked.

Tekun`s life continued down this bloody path until a raid went wrong.

Pegasus Riders, Alicia`s military put an effective halt to their raid.
In a perfectly planned ambush the clan was nearly routed. Tekun`s father had not been present in the battle
that ensued and was thought to have remained at the camp. Tekun was there however.
But where others fell to the lances of the winged units, Tekun did not.
The boy, wounded and angered refused to simply die.

Desperate for his life, the young man fled with the few men who had scrambled out.
Try as they might to flee, in the end only one escaped Alician justice that day.
The others died, forgotten in the snow.

In the end, Tekun was alone in the mountains, lost but he somehow found himself back to their base of operations.
He only arrived to a grizzly sight. His clan was decimated, their encampment was in ruins.
But his father was noticeably not among the dead. It seemed few had escaped in addition to his father and
hope remained in his heart that he could maybe peace together this pathetic life he lived.

In a frantic attempt to find any sort of hint as to where his father might have gone he discovered evidence
within his father’s tent that suggested the clan had been sold out to Alician forces so that Kawl
could, for one reason or another eliminate ties to his past.

Betrayl. Alone. Tekun broke that day.

He vowed to become stronger so that he could one day strike down the man who had tried to send him to his death.
He nursed his wounds as best as he could and wandered off towards the mainland.

You can kind of piece together the rest. Gain a reputation, meet Kelik and company.

Here's a frame of his animation. Killing what I assume to be is a Generic Archer.
Disregard the sword.



Talk to Althares with Tekun, he gives back a Member Card.



"Knife goes in. Guts come out. Knife goes in. Guts come out."

Talking to Kelik nets something very important.



A secret to everybody. We need this for something secret and awesome. :3

Kelik: "MY HAND TWITCHES WITH AN AWESOME POWER!"
Tekun: "ENOUGH! I GET IT!"



Damn Zach... Almost a perfect growth.



Emma: Take me with you! I can heal things.
Asch: We already have one of those... like a coyote I must
scavenge all I can in terms of value in order to be more like
the majestic Swan so tha-
Emma: Please stop.
Asch: You're the first person to ever stand up to me. Okay. You can join.



Ben. I suspect we'll be seeing him soon. Also, she has a celestial ring.
No wonder Tami didn't find her Guiding ring.



Oh no...well. Well, let's prep a little bit ourselves.



Why does everyone think their weapons taste so good?



Kelik: "Just some Mercenary? YOU HAVE A SILVER LANCE BUT I HAVE A
GOLDEN S-"
Perry: "Kelik...Plz."



A rather odd spot to place the house considering we will already recruit Emma by
the time we visit.



"Here you go little boy. Take this giant sword! Can you even use it?"



"Please stop. We can be friends still."



Giving Tekun the kill because I want to train him up. Glass Cannon much?



Also Itsuke got a kill. I forget when or how but someone was incinerated good.



Because Anakin. People suck.



And Perry tries to kill Anakin because he's easy.
Kelik shuts him down permanently.
With his sword.



I'd love to tell you but it's 7:15am. GOOD NIGHT EVERYONE.

Asch quotes are still seriously the best. As for Tekun's backstory, it was more of a serious change of pace, but I like hearing of those, and it's not like it was a bad thing in the first place. Yet another good chapter overall.

- I like the archer CG lol
- My story-telling abilities are better now I won't ever make such a silly scene like that again
- Liuke showing up is a glitch

- sorry about not giving him more of an intro I just felt like he already said a few lines and they were in the middle of a battle and he's not the talkative type and neither is Kelik so I figured they wouldn't say much and meh I can add something in later maybe
- History is boring *skips* *shot by DH for being so heartless* (maybe later I'm in a slight rush now lol)
- lol FE13 ref much?
- Like seeing the flaws in my own game sometimes lol
- Good chapter overall time to run XP

No worries Blazer. You're entitled to skip history It's why they're in spoilers. As for the scene, I had alot of fun being dramatic Live and learn. Things happen.

Thoughts from the writer! (Click Here To Hide/Show Text)

The references to Chapter 14 of FE7 are a bit greater than what you observed. When writing this chapter (Back when it was The Fire Emblem Universe Game- Tactics Universe), this was chapter 14- to correspond with Chapter 14 of FE7 and Chapter 4 of FE6.

The original script was meant essentially as a giant parody of all of Laus, some which still persists. Perry was originally "Erik" and the steward of Devisio/Laus was named "Darin" to reference the character Daren in FE7.

The town in the upper village contains an Iron Blade; the same village gives an Iron Blade in FE6/7. In Tactics Universe, the village did reference that "they had a history of handing out these weapons".

There was also a mention in the script that the Marquess of Laus has a fetish for troubadours looking for their loved ones; Clarine, Priscilla, and Emma.

Also, this has nothing to do with the script, but there was going to be an incredibly bizarre subchapter for this chapter, involving rescuing Liuke from twin bandits wearing Liuke masks. I still have the sprites, and I wish it was still kept in.

I think Ben and Emma were originally supposed to be lovers, not siblings. I really want to see what you do with the two pedo-knights and a potentially incestuous pair.

He meant the other way around, it was Daren in the hack and Darin here. The idea is that the names of the leaders were just slightly renamed, e.g. Erik, Eric, Airic, Ayrick, Darin, Daren, Daryn, Dahren, etc. as they went down the line, alternating from the D chain to the E chain, until eventually it got down to the FE7 ones.

Also the twin bandits wearing Liuke masks things is totally made-up SS doesn't know what he's talking about

It was Raven and Priscilla who were siblings and Ben and Emma are likewise siblings actually there may be some truth to what you said

On a side note DH also doesn't know what he's talking about unless I say he does (this way nothing he says has any worth and if people are like "DH SAID TLP USED TO HAVE THIS AND DO THAT" I'll be like "BLAZER NO APPROVE" XD)

It was an extremely early concept, but one of the wierdest ones I can still remember. I think the chapter had an early draft, but it got lost with FEU. :/

Though really, I'd love to post the pictures of those two if Keriku allows it. They're an essential part of Romhacking history!
