now you're tempting me to go back and re-read it lol it was my first pairing and I think I have a fetish for red-haired people which I kind of knew except I didn't think it qualified as a fetish until recently but yeah I'm a sad guy who loves the color red for some reason and has been that way for yeaaaaars (*points to mainsite* *looks down on red shorts*)

err point being that's probably why I chose her (we all know Awakening is like our own little fanfic at least during the first runthrough)

FYI, one of the new Scramble Maps and the first map of the new Future Past Pack is out today, IIRC. Future Past pack is where you get to play as the kids in their terrible future so that should be interesting. Though I'm still way behind so I've got a looooot to do before I go touching that lol.

Owain, Inigo and Lucina have one too. Think that's about it.

Dang, I really wish I had money for the DLCs now. Future Past looks amazing, and I love the conversations in the DLCs.

I'm still as behind as ever... I feel like interest in the DLC has really dwindled since lately. I think they should have maybe taken a break and then started it up again with renewed interest, maybe, but eh... >_<; I'm in this mood now where I feel like if I get started, I won't be able to finish, and therefore I don't want to start because I don't want to invest the time needed to fully catch-up. In a way, it's procrastination XP

I'm a bit behind on DLC too...kinda.

I haven't done the ultimate training maps aside from Death's Embrace, haven't touched the "Scramble" maps, but I DID do the Future Past 1 and 2.

Those are actually kinda cool, but they can be very hard because of how the children's stats work. (Stats of each kid are determined by stats of their parents.) There's also quite a few conversations between blood relatives (which can be annoying to get if you didn't use the parents-- my army of base level parents didn't exactly fair too well against max level risen...)

It was a huge pain to keep Nah alive in Future Past 1 because she kept getting one-shotted by Mire sorcerers...ugh. Damn base level Nowi and Gregor giving Nah single digit stats!

Future Past 2, however, was much easier for me because my Olivia, Avatar (derp), Lissa and Vaike are all part of my max-everything team. If they weren't then that would have sucked pretty terribly.

But yeah, if you grinded parents (lol) for the making of super-children then you'll have no problems at all.

In Lunatic Mode, that's essentially necessary.

The Future of Despair/Future Past DLCs are Post-Game DLCs. On Normal, I barely was able to beat it right off the bat after beating the Final Chapter when it first came out in Japan.

Oh man, and they get generic stats if you play it and their associated parent isn't married yet:

Oh right, probably should've mentioned I was using my normal file (my completed loony file is so messed up that I couldn't possibly do DLC on it >.>). And they're near-capped (only a couple have limit breaker though) and the enemies didn't give me that much of a problem. But yeah, Future Past is definitely made for post-game.

And oh dear...he is so screwed XD. But now I'm tempted to load up my lunatic file and download that just to see how fast those two get slaughtered. Might be funny. (IIRC only Chrom and Avatar got married in that playthrough...woops)

Alright, I got the future past maps and Apotheosis today. Haven't played the Future past ones but I gave a try to Apotheosis to see how hard it was.

I managed to make it through the first battle with the generals and war clerics only losing Lucina. Since I lost Lucina I just wanted to see how far I would be able to make it. I fought the pegasus knights for the second round and was doing very good. I made a stupid move of healing Noire who would've died in the enemy turn instead of my Avatar who died instead which caused me to game over. Having the always half damage skill along with Lunatic + skills made this map f*cking hard as hell. Just like it was advertised. I was playing on hard ode so maybe it a little easier on Normal mode.

What no, this was one of the really good player turn themes in FE8. Off the top of my head, the one for fog maps and one of the mid-lategame themes are the only I consider better; I'll go try to find names. As for the battle theme, given that was originally reserved for fighting the 6 Generals, having it on every battle is a bit excessive, but it's still not the worst thing they could have done.

All I can say is that Future Past was...awesome. Dat ending. almost if not better than the main game

I tried Apotheosis for lulz (my team isn't high level enough to complete it seriously) and made it through round one, but I turned it off before going to round 2 because I knew I wasn't going to be able to beat it. Seems like it'll be fun, though...if I ever have a good enough team tongue.gif

I still hate the name "Future Past"... it felt like the name was chosen for the wordplay like Smash Brethren.

Here's another nitpick at the localization.

Why did they change the "Fin" at the end of the regular game to "The End", and then left it as "Fin" in the Part 3 DLC?

Just a little inconsistent there.

Apotheosis wasn't actually too bad. It all comes down to a little logic. On the "normal" mode of the map, all the enemies will converge on you when you enter ANY of their attack zones, so that gives you prep time. Keep a few rally-bots on you (I had about 3-5, dependant on what I wanted to do with Sumia/Chrom that turn) and force your stats into comparable ranges to your opponent. Spotpass or DLC characters do great here since they can all learn Rally Spectrum (and in the case of female units, Rally Heart), which will pump all stats. That'll make the MUCH less scary. Form your team to abuse Brave status weapons for the most part and you're set until the last round since your pairings, with Galeforce aid, should be able to level the small # of enemies at any location without risk of enemy turn reprisal getting someone killed. Always take the flyers if you're given an option, since they'll be fragile and easier to kill.

On the last wave, there are a LOT of enemies. Find a 2-3 row area and wall them there with Sorcerers with HP regenerating weapons (Nosferatu, Aversa's Night) and Vengeance (Tharja/Kellam worked for me), as well as heavy armoured generals with Renewal who can stand even one of their Armourslayer attacks (my usage here was Kjelle/Owain). Keep in mind that you'll have to likely kill on your turn since there are 4 Forfify bots at the bottom of the map. Between them, they WILL fully heal enemies. So either kill on your turn or drain them for 5 uses by matching it with your own Fortify staves. Other than that, behind them have some durable units to pick off direct units, send flyers with Galeforce out to kill the longbow enemies and keep your rally-bots safe. You'll grind down their army and eventually win.

My only casualty was a 20-30 stat Grandmaster I had from spotpass on the last round. It was an unnecessary casualty caused by me not caring about placement.

At least on non-Anna mode. Anna-mode I got to the 3rd round before realizing I didn't pack enough weapons. Or stats. Enemies start reaching 70s there (and some evil things like Snipers with Counter) so I'll have to raise a REAL army instead of just picking some units as I did for Apotheosis.
