Seriously though, you're really good at noticing those small things, Mercenary. I give you props for that. Only one other person mentioned the description, IIRC.
If I have extra time (highly unlikely) I may do the Battle Background patch... but I still have more to do... I will update the list later today once I finish off like 4-5 more items.
Checklist:
- Any other miscellaneous finishing touches--that is to say, retest, revise, and finalize.
EDIT: More updates, w00t
EDIT2: Finished the Credits (I had more trouble with it than I would have hoped), now I just gotta do some chibi's and battle sprites, playout chapter 15, and then insert death quotes/kill every character to test the death quotes. Then I have to do the following if time permits:
- Insert DS Battle Frame
- Finish DS Battle Background Hack and Apply It
- Insert Even MORE Custom Music

Then once I feel confident in everything I can go ahead and make videos and release it on Sunday... in the mean time, I have a ton of studying to do... so I'm going to be working 14/4 (14 hours for the next 4 days, including today, although I won't ACTUALLY work all 14 hours I am up lol)
EDIT3: Chapter 14 Screenshots as a thanks to those who keep up with the game:

EDIT4: Finished everything on the MUST DO list, now I have the extra things to do, if I can do them.
- Insert DS Battle Frame
- Finish DS Battle Background Hack and Apply It
- Insert Even MORE Custom Music

- Rebalance Chapter 13 because it's WAY too difficult
- Fix chapter #'s in the battle preps

2. Make sure you download the latest version, then extract the ZIP archive, then CORRECTLY patch the game (see the instructions and watch my Youtube video if you have trouble)
3. Play it using VBA v1.8.0.3
If you just tried to download it and then put the ZIP into VBA, it won't work...

ANd Blazer, the hack went from 'fairly challenging' to 'bullshit hard'. Have you seen what you've done to Ch 12 when you get Logan?
Don't mean to nitpick, but I personally think quality>quantity.

Challenging? Not even, the only chapter that is remotely challenging is chapter 13 (note: NOT chapter 12, chapter 13... >_>)
I'm not even good at Fire Emblem either. But the game isn't going to be as easy as FE11 or FE8 or something... it'd be no fun otherwise.
Chapter 15 is extremely easy, chapter 14 is moderate, chapter 13 is hard, chapter 12 is easy if you don't go for the chests or moderate if you do (you can just have Levion escape and the others auto escape with you) and chapter 11 is easy. People can live with one hard chapter to level up their units. Just don't be so aggressive when fighting, stay on the defensive, recruit Logan, keep to yourself, wait for the enemies to clear up, heal with vulneraries as necessary, don't worry about the village, and when the reinforcements clear up you can finish off the map and the boss and beat the chapter. All it takes is some defense.

The chest chapter wasn't all that hard. I just had Levion charge the chests with the chest keys and have Althares (leveled a lot from before) tank the chapter. While the enemies went after Levion and Althares, I was sneaking away with Kelik and finally seized the chapter after getting all the chests.
It's just all the axe-fighters in Ch13 that really gets me. Not only were they bunched up in one spot, but their hit werent usually trustworthy, and thus, I had to use the Lv. 10 Cavalier (forgot his name) and my leveled up Kevin to tank the chapter. Even then they had their limits, so I had to pull them back.
The Peg Knights in that chapter were absolutely unnecessary. I had axe-fighters and bowmen to take care of in the first place.
Besides all that and massive WTD in every chapter, that's pretty much all I had to gripe about thus far.

^Yeah I fixed that on every forum BUT here, so ironic, this is my forum... I'll fix it after this post...
@Mercenary, if you sell his weapons how are you going to have him fight when he rejoins you? *forgot about that, didn't ya...* You get OVER 9,000!!!!! gold at chapter 14 and a blue gem or white gem from the village in chapter 11 and if you're smart you spent money buying weapons for peoplez like Kevin in Siegfried's mode so they are stocked.

Nice XD Although tanking with Althares is weird but then again people arena abuse so it probably isn't

Hmm, I can sort of understand. Ace and Kevin can't really fight too well against axe fighters although the others can. Also, chapters aren't meant to be tanked all the time, people expect to just send out enemy units and kill them all in one round without getting more than like 5 damage, err, no, doesn't work that way. The Pegasus Knights move randomly (

I don't know what WTD is, and I don't mind if you complain as long as it's warranted. If you complain "LOGAN LOOKS TOO GIRLISH" or "THERE NEEDS 2 B MOAR CHAPTERS" then I'll e-slap you. heh jk

BTW, is there any place that lists the game's secrets or you prefer we find out ourselves? I did find how to access the gaiden chapters through the forums you listed, but I'm wondering about all the other stuff I might miss.
Also, is hard mode fully functional, is it the same as normal mode, or should I just play normal mode?

Posted 21 January 2010 - 03:03 AM
There actually is a hard mode but only for chapters 7-10 (the ones with battle preps in Siegfried's mode). I decided not to make a hard mode for chapters 11-15 but starting on chapter 16 there will be a hard mode for it, and I'll include details on that when the time comes.
Also, for the secrets, I will be posting stuff like that on the Tactics Universe section of the Fire Emblem Shrine at http://www.feshrine.net/tactics/ but I haven't gotten the chance to do that yet because I'm so busy. Tomorrow is my last final and then I plan on working on it, just check in a few days and/or subscribe to my YT videos to keep up to date since I update Youtube a lot.

Thanks for joining again, that seriously made my day, haha, feels good to know I

He also came with a Silver Sword, Blazer, which I probably should've jacked for Kelik to use later as well, and give him an Iron Sword to fight with. Unless you fixed that, it's weapon swap, man.

I just realized I could've sold that gem. Therein is my problem. D:

Eddy gets 2-shot by the axemen in this chapter. Ace can never hit these guys and doesn't have enough Def or HP to withstand more than 2 attacks. Anakin is frail in every way imaginable. Kevin will never hit the enemies, but at least he has Def and HP to cover him. Lv. 10 Cavalier (again, forgot the name) and Kevin (if leveled up) is pretty much the only units that can withstand all of these attacks at once.

That would be fine if there werent so many axemen with rather high hit percentage and attack. I'm sorry, but I don't trust 35-38% hit percentages.

Absolutely and purely coincidence.

So stay defensive, and use the terrain to your advantage. Have Eduardo on the forests to the right, have Anakin in position to get Logan in there, then send Logan to the left to defend against several bandits (personally I put him on the mountains), while Nayr kills what's most important and Anakin defends/heals until the enemy # drops down. Ace doesn't ALWAYS miss either, and he has pretty good defense, it's just the enemies are strong.
Overreacting, the chapter isn't that hard, I would have had more complaints I think. Despite that I'll try and make it even more easier next time (yes, it was more difficult before).
EDIT: Please note that Lord Glenn made the Flamberge weapon icon and Anonymous claims to have made the Shon sprite. Arch, the maker of the character Shon, never mentioned this. Sorry to both of them for the error in the credits. They have been updated.

Thanks, I'll check your youtube channel.
Really, though, of the 10 or so hacks I've found around the web and bothered to try, this is the most professional one. It's pretty much like a new gba fire emblem for people who're already familiar with the series. And there's actually a coherent story!
There also isn't an abuse of special items/weapons to the point of them not feeling special anymore either. The maps are new. There are actual secrets (which is awesome! I'll just have to replay to see what I missed later

I guess I'll stop giving too many compliments, but yea, I appreciate the time you spent on this. And I just found a "Let's Play" on youtube, nice.
One last question, in the Let's play I saw, you could get the emblem lance or something from a house in chapter 2, but in the latest version, you can't (or atleast, I can't). Was that removed on purpose?

The idea for the game is for it to be professional and like a completely new Fire Emblem game. I love side chapters too which is why there will soon be a lot more. Thanks for all the compliments too, I really appreciate it, and if you're looking for secrets, I've added a bit of information on the official website.
