Wasn't expecting to grab it, but still. I suppose Skullgirls is an acceptable choice.For those not in the know, it's basically a fighting game with a pretty cool amount of backstory. There's this thing called the Skull Heart, which grants a woman's wish, but if she's impure of heart, she's turned into the Skullgirl, a monster bent on destroying the world. It's a bit like you'd expect a game with an almost all-female cast to be, but thankfully, it relies on more than double-X chromosomes to sell. The fighting is very reminiscent of Street Fighter or BlazBlue/probably also Guilty Gear and P4A, with an emphasis on a defensive playstyle and huge combos.
The characters are also incredibly diverse, which is cool- my personal favorite is Miss Fortune, a catgirl thief who was hacked to bits on a mission gone wrong but accidentally became somewhat immortal, though her body parts are still easily disconnected. Other prime examples include the girl with a demon sticking out of the back of her head, the girl with the creepy mask and creepier triple-blade thing on a wire seemingly attached to her spine, and Double.
All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed the game, and I recommend it as a great fighter to pick up to learn the genre, if you don't mind seeing more than a few well-endowed characters.
