It has all that humans are important and it doesn't matter who it is a human life is always something of heavy value and people fighting for the sake of humanity's survival and everybody's a good guy and all that kinda stuff for human pride peoples.
Yet despite all that, I thought the best character is the robot A.I. d:

I'm a big fan of Eden of the East. I'd say watch it. Interesting premise, likable main characters and it's 11 episodes + 2 movies. Give it a shot. |
Bear in mind though that I've come up on a steady diet of shows with really interesting characters. I mean, I'm no longer impressed by a character being dual personality anymore (being able to pull off the typical goofball act while being able to calculate). It generally takes a bit more meat to get me interested in that aspect.
I've heard quite a few problems in the show (it being very main character, weak antagonists), but they don't seem to fully apply as either strength or weakness (the female protagonist is proclaimed to be useless because, in all honesty, she likely would be. A damper on the plot, but I've been fine with this before - see: Re-l in Ergo Proxy. And I've been fine with shows without antagonists period).
The show does sound very main character-centric, so that may make it harder for me to invest in if the male protagonist doesn't seem super strong in this. Unless the suspense is amazing.
It does seem that Ergo Proxy is becoming more the standard line for comparison here. The MCs in that show aren't super strong and Re-l shows the same "less than useful" human problems the female protagonist does here...though, Re-l was also very competent, just not in circumstances that are stacked against her, but I digress, the suspense pulled that show.
Do also consider that I don't have two movies to work off of, having not owning a copy of them yet.

^I've been watching that too, I think I'm on episode 7? The robot A.I is the best character by far, it's an interesting show.

but I will continue to watch OP sub/dub, Naruto sub and occasionally the dub (if only to support Funimation), and I occasionally rewatch anime episodes just for the lulz, whether it be OP episodes or Code Geass or whatever
but yeah since AoT is about to end and FT isn't airing I'm going to be really light on anime, pretty much just two series. Which is okay I guess because I don't have much time to watch anime right now anyhow

Whether or not you find the main characters interesting or not remains to be seen, but like I said, they're very likable regardless.

ANYHOW I finally started watching SAO and it was amazing. Finished the dub up to episode 14 and spoiled myself on the rest so I didn't have to waste time thinking about what would happen (I mostly just wanted to know the ending I don't know a lot of the details so eh, I just didn't feel like waiting like normal). I'll watch the dub when it comes out and maybe buy it to support it, might watch the air on Toonami as well (it's at 2AM and I'm up for OP anyway, so why not?).
But I guess I'm not really watching it anymore since it's not out UNLESS I really do watch the dub on Toonami... which I think I really will

oh man, Kirant is kinda a hard guy to please, isn't he? XD Not necessarily a bad thing, just means he has refined tastes, unlike me who can be pleased super easily by quality content (I mean I still have standards and things I like/don't like but they're not as specific and crap) |
Nah. I just have the "make sure you assume the average quality of a show is average" beaten into me. And I have very specific likes and dislikes. I mean, I think my last post on my blog kind of sets that kind of tone:

Anyways, I really haven't decided where to go yet. Probably give Eden a couple episodes first to see if it's up my alley.

and like I said, genre etc. usually doesn't matter a ton to me so as long as it's "generally perceived as good by a large amount of people", which in itself takes out genres that people don't go crazy about/talk a ton about such as... uh... I guess hentai and ones that are just overwhelmingly gorey/dark or school-romances with highly stylized animation lol

I just stopped watching Inferno Cop, I'm not even sure it qualifies as an anime though, it's a comic thingy where the dudes hardly even move... ugh I guess technically if it's Japanese animation it's an anime right? *shrug*

Also, forgot to mention I'm watching Log Horizon. Which I absolutely love. Haters gon' hate.
Kill la Kill is also getting pretty crazy (battles after battles, for one) but it's nothing totally mind-blowing yet. And the animation can be really sloppy and stuff sometimes, haha. Still a good show though...

Fantastic show. Really recommend it. Movie just came out as well and just got subbed so sexiness all round, for everyone.
Also watching Kill la Kill and Unbreakable Machine Doll. Both great int heir own right.
Figuring out what to watch of the upcoming winter season, some really nice stuff looks to be coming.

Oh. It's that type of show.
I think I'll pass then...stuff infamous for fanservice typically get shredded when I view them.

Looking into Future Diary. Can anybody give me any insight on it?

I'm also watching Samurai Champloo... about one episode a day. Though I didn't watch tonight's episode (I usually watch it around this time tbh).
And Log Horizon is probably my favorite new show airing right now.
Scratch that, it definitely is. Maybe my favorite show overall that's airing new episodes. I seriously enjoy that show way, way too much. I just hope I don't get bored and go play another MMORPG and lose a year off my life for it or something... not that I can afford to do that now that I'm 19 >_>

The everything else isn't too great, but it's fun if you can laugh at it(it's not really intended to be completely serious either a lot of the time), oh, and the opening is awesome. The plot itself does have creativity going for it, at least.

Steins Gate has 0 fanservice, well, as close to 0 as there can be.
It's a pretty serious show most of the time with some funny moments.
Look it up, it's about a crazy scientist and his rat tag band of assistants that live above a pawn shop. They realise that their microwave is a time machine and that they can alter the past... and then they uncover so much more...
