Maybe, it never stated whether they did or not. Who knows? Plus it could be a different type of morph, a morph created especially for this world. We make it up as we go, so.

Meh, In Character can still mean plot advancing.
If you want, the next town can already be destroyed by Cecil when we get there, and we can all be captured, and put into that arena idea of before.
