Rollizo grunted again, and his eyes widened. The words didn't come naturally to him. "N... What we doing?" His face contorted in frustration, his lips curling up to reveal teeth that were sharpened and ornate.

The group shortly left the dwarven city and traveled the direction the messenger had given them. They traveled for about an hour before they heard rustling in the bushes. Before they knew it! The words. "Greil Mercenaries!! Charge!!" Were heard and several well armed men and a few women came out, ready for combat and surrounded the group. None attacked just yet, but they eyed the Illithid, Warforged and Minotaur

Aurora eyed the Minotaur, she was pleased that another member would be joining their quest and the monk seemed ready and willing to join as well, despite just meeting the group. She knew that in order for them to truly work as a team they would need to form closer bonds with each other. Whatever the Dwarven mages had sensed would be a good opportunity to form such bonds.

As a group they headed in the direction the messenger had sent them, Aurora primarily kept to herself. Her mind going over the various spells she would have to obtain in order for her to become an accomplished mage. Her thoughts were interrupted by the yelling of a voice.

"Greil Mercenaries!! Charge!!" A troupe of armed men and woman came out from the bushes. She sighed, their group would need to become more cautious if they planned on surviving out in the world. The fact that they had been ambushed so easily was quite disheartening.

She shrugged there was no use attempting to persuade mercenaries, unless you were richer than the person who employed the mercenary. She knew that she most certainly not was rich so she stepped back behind stronger warriors ready to cast a wind spell in a moment's notice. The group was fairly large, and she wondered whether they would be able to fight all of them.

Kajh walked along with the others, keeping himself silent. There was a strong sence of comradreship in this group that excluded himself and the Minotaur. He almost felt intrusive! But of course that would chafe when they returned war heros, of course. And heroine! he reminded himself, glancing at Aurora. It would certaintly be a new experience, fighting alongside a Mage instead of against.

He stopped his thinking and immidiatly opened himself into a greater sence of awareness when he heard the cry for the Geril mercenaries. Kajh put one hand on his light tome and raised his other, aiming for the enemy that quikly had them surrounded. He placed himself next to Mankut. "If we rush, I'm with you. I don't do longrange, I like to get up close and personal." He told him.

There was silence as the group walked which Seraph found strange. Usually someone was talking, usually the warforged.

Suddenly there came a battle cry from the trees. Serah sighed, he had had enough of being ambushed.
He decided he`d stick near the minotaur that had just joined thier group.

The warforged growled, or what a warforge growl sounded like, and he drew his sword. Looking around, he saw at least two warriors who would be a problem for them. Looking back at the group, he looked at the elf girl. Perhaps she would talk their way out of this? After all, mercenaries are not usually bandits, and no one so far had reason to hate them, he thought. After a short awkward silence, Alark said "Hold. Is there any need to fight? Why would you be after us? If this has something to do with the wimpy bard, you can have him, and we'll be on way, peacefully."

The sniper had his bow drawn and readied just in case something were to happen. He could be heard snickering a little. "He is wimpy isn't he." he said smiling wrly.

The mercenary stepped forth, it appeared he was the leader, he had his sword drawn and looked at the warforged with his blue eyes.

"Your traveling to the cave to the north. Your a warforged, with you are an illithid and a minotaur. What is your buissness there and why are you traveling with the other's with you?" He seemed to hold authority and keep everyone's attention.

The warforged looked back at the mercenary, immediately liking the sniper. "We've been hired, by some king. We're a small force sent to investigate the evil spreading from these mountains, the cave you speak of. The ugly one is a guide, and the horned one is civilized." Lowering his sword, he waited to see what the responses would be, thinking about how if they were evil, they would not have stopped.

The Illithid remained silent, looking around, trying to figure out who would be best to dominate, the mage was out as well as the cleric. The leader looked strong willed, that left the cavalier, swordwoman, fighter, sniper, archer, armored knight and paladin. The Orc remained quiet as well, he was ready for a fight, didn't care much for these mercenaries.

'You're traveling with a mind flayer. You are a warforged, and though I hate to say this, most minotaurs are very chaotic. It's very suspicious. We see this heading to a cave. People have not returned from that cave only chaotic things. Still, why would a king associate with your kind. I find it hard to believe."

[Holy Kensai]

The warforged smiled, "We're a very unique group. If you don't believe me, had down this road till you see short fat things everywhere. One of them will tell you. We're going down this path, and into that cave. If only chaotic things return, than so be it. But it be our choice, not blood-thirsty mercenaries." The warforged raised his blade slowly, showing the man he was ready to fight, but it wasn't his first option. "Surely you have better things to do."

Rollizo snorted and bared his fangs. His eyes narrowed. He stepped toward the front and jerked his head at Seraph, seeing the man's move.

"Dip... Let we pass. I do not want..." He paused, fingered his hammer in concentration, then continued. "I do not want your head to crush on my hammer." He snarled again in victory, proud of himself. The dwarves who had taught him Common would certainly be proud.

[DH_Ninja]

The fighter marched foward.

"Smash my head will ya!" The green haired man said only to be held back by the leader.

"Boyd, you need to calm down." He said turning around to face his comrade.

"Ike, you heard what it said!"

"You misheard. Look, get back to where you were."

Having heard this, the sniper snickered a little bit again. It seemed like he was enjoying the turmoil a bit. Their leader turned around to face the group once more.

"We're not blood thirsty, we mean the best. If there is a misunderstanding, then there was. However. I've seen too many elves, half elves, humans and dwarves dragged to their doom."

[Holy Kensai]

Alark signed at the interruption of the horned beast "The pale ones, that you call elves and humans, with us come willingly. We all getting paid by the king you don't believe is real. If you wish, you may come and keep an eye on us, to make sure we're not chaotic. We would welcome your company actually, as we're not sure of the strength of the cave. There is strength in numbers, will you join us?" The warforged stared soulessly into Ike's eyes.

"I see. Hm...Very well. We'll let you go. IF you want, I'll allow you to take one of us with you." The blue haired mercenary leader said. It seemed they were finally on their side. Those who were ready to strike, lowered their weapons.

(*cough.* Surprise round, do it, you won't *cough*)

"hm, Let us take a moment to confer and decide which one we shall take." Looking back at his comrades, Alark looked at the bard and said "I vote the sniper. He appears to be very intelligent, we may need that cunning." Waiting to see what the others would say, he put his sword away.

OOC: *Cough, no I won't, cough*. Others post, please?

"While yes he does look cunning, I vote for that Priest. We have no healer and there are enough of us to be atleast one of us protecting him at all times?" Said Seraph

Rollizo hunched his shoulders and stared into the faces of the mercenaries. His head angled and his tiny black eyes darted. "Qui... Want one with... Skill." His hand absentmindedly floated to one of his horns, like a nervous habit. "Archer looks... Cruel. Want skill and person who... Who no I want to break."

Kajh lowered his hands, allowing the magic he had been ready to release flow back into the tome. "Not sure if I have a say in this, but if your looking for someone with skill, look at that swords-woman. See the way she holds her blade? I think she knows how to use it."

Alark, disappointed that no one wanted the sniper, said "We have enough close combat fighters. We want ranged, with skill, and usefulness." Turning to the girl of the group, he asked, "You're the smartest one here. Who would you pick/"

[Seraphinox]

"I'm telling you that we need the healer" Said Seraph angrily, "we have this "monk" here to do ranged attacks no?" He pointed at the monk whose name he did not know.

"We won't get much farther without our wounds being treated, I don't think the Sniper can be trusted, He looks like the type that would desert you"
