Because the map maker (I think it might have been Hughes, in fact it probably was O_O) decided to do that and I approved and it's funny and I wanted people to point it out like you just did. ![]() |
Those letters also reduce movement, for some reason.
Alas, I just finished a complete runthrough. Notes are as follows:
Kevin's Knight palette is messed up when attacking as an enemy.
Ch8 preparation screen, even after the latest 2.5.9 patch, is still bugged, and requires version 2.5.2 to be used in order to get past the preparation screen.
Ace, Eduardo, and Anakin aren't playable after Ch8, for they disappear at the Ch9 and Ch10 preparation screen. Unless there's a reason for it, I believe that should be fixed.
Pellenore has to be one of the easiest final bosses I've ever played in a Fire Emblem hack. Such a disappointment. A leveled up Cia can dodge all of his Light Brand attacks and still live, because she has the forest advantage. Give him a Tomahawk, or something.
The Female Cavalier in Ch10 appears as an Assassin, for some reason. O_o
You are able to spawn on a Peak (Mountain) in Ch9 for some reason.
Shuuda's way too broken, lol.
No Axe users? Laaaame.

And last, but not least, the battle theme for Pellenore is epic ****ing win. I want the MP3 for that, played in-game.

There's a very good reason. It's explained within the game. It even shows Anakin leaving.

Hahah they are ballista tiles IIRC, yes they do.

That was reported on the 1st demo too-- most people don't get to see that animation and I really don't feel like fixing it, even if it should be. I'm not a perfectionist so... I'll let it slide. Thanks for noting it though.

Yeah, for whatever reason the updates from version 2.5 to 2.5.2 were not transferred to version 2.5.5, so I thought I refixed them in version 2.5.9, but forgot about the battle preparations, and haven't fixed it-- using VBA v1.8.0.3 solves the problem, I'll fix it when I can (right now I can't because I'm hacking chapter 11, and thus I've hacked the Interlude to continue to chapter 11, and I have to change it back before I make a new patch because if I don't people will be tempted to play chapter 11...)

If you've arena abused, there's something-- I don't build the game for arena abusers or boss abusers or any sort of experience or money abusers. Just saying that might be the reason, I am not accusing you of anything.
I also don't like changing units because they weren't originally created by me. I will if its minor or if I feel it's really necessary but most people didn't have that same easiness as you.

Pseudo-glitch that is fixed in the latest version.

He's broken, but none of the characters should be 'too' broken without arena or boss abuse or the use of any promotion items.

What's this? I've never heard of this glitch before. Do you think you could elaborate, please?

Yeah, the player doesn't get one until Anakin's and Kelik's story/mode... T_T Had I not forced somebody on FEU to make an axe user, we'd have like 1 allied axe user in the entire game. I mean we still only have like 3 but... better than 1. :\
In short, I agree with you, it is lame.

lol, thanks. If I try and insert a WAV version of a song that long it most likely won't work at all. Or do you simply want the MP3 of the original? *is a bit confused*

Yes, you are able to spawn on a Peak. Check the unit alignment in the Ch.9 Preparation Screen, and you'll see that there's a blue spot on a Peak. You can move normally, but it can be broken if you have someone stay there and take the entire bandit ambush.
I would use Camtasia Studio to record the music playing in the rom on VBA, but my 30-day trial expired.

I'll get a link to the MIDI if you want-- will that suffice? If not I can get one of the MP3. Whichever pleases you more.

Like I said, I would do that, but my 30-day trial expired.
Anyway, yeah, fix the peak spawn bug in Ch9. The bandits you made to be really super-uber tough can be broken if you leave someone there on the peak.

I think you can record the audio in VBA, that's what I was saying, if not you could always record an AVI and then rip the music, or I could just give you the link to the MIDI or MP3 (just tell me which one you want, or if you want both).

I dont think I activated any gaiden chapters...
Oh, I can record the AVI... the only problem is, I cant install anything on this PC, and my Windows Movie Maker is really, really, really outdated, and only produces poor quality videos (or sound in this case)

Latest version has more work done, and an empty song was replaced with Celica's Map Theme from FE2, With Mila's Divine Protection.
A video has been made to show it off:
Watch With Mila's Divine Protection Music Video
The video also shows off chapter 10 gameplay.
Also various minor updates to be coming, especially to chapter 10, and if I get the chance I need to update the credits as well.
Special thanks to Nayr for various graphics, formatting graphics, recolors, and other stuff. He's been a great help with the project. One of the 4 people who really do anything for it.

Now if only I could get some replies like I used to get all the time...

QUOTE (README) |
////////////////////// Current Version: 2.6.3 Release Date: November 9th, 2009 Creator: Fire Blazer This is a hack of Fire Emblem 7: Blazing Sword. In case you are new to this, Tactics Universe is a game originating from a website called Tactics Universe-- it is a forum hack, and thus the members of the forum create characters to replace characters in the original game. Custom events, cutscenes, maps, dialog, portraits, music, battles, stats, personalities, chapters, gaidens, graphics, almost everything-- all in one game. The current version is stated above. It goes from the Prologue to Chapter 10, featuring 11 Obligatory Chapters and 2 Gaiden Chapters for a total of 13 Chapters. Prepare yourself for the hack of a lifetime. Conquer your enemies, discuss the game with others, become inspired to hack, and most importantly, enjoy your adventure~ ----------------------- v2.6.3 November 9th, 2009 Several fixes, as usual. The chapter 8 preparations glitch somehow came about again, so I had to fix it (again). A cavalier on chapter 9 was messed up as well and there were some minor problems all around that I fixed up. There are also several new great updates: - More/all portraits have been recolored to FE8 colors and now everything is standard and portraits are better as a whole (thanks to Nayr is Pwn) - New title screen thanks to Bonestorm. - New music for chapter 10- "With Mila's Divine Protection" has been added as the map theme music. - New custom Howard battle palette - Tougher enemies in chapter 10 with edited levels & inventories - New weapon called "Hero's Flare" which acts as a brave weapon and doubles consecutive hits. - Many background changes that can't be seen (for instance, chapter 11 is done, chapter 12 is under way, I repointed some stuff and have added more custom weapons but they just haven't appeared in the game yet) - Nothung has an edited icon now Special thanks again to Nayr is Pwn for help with portraits (many of which are inserted but the characters just haven't showed up in-game). As long as people keep on supporting and motivating me, I should be able to come out with a new patch by late December, including the game up to chapter 15. ![]() |

What?
You don't want to hear what?
If you want to patch over the ROM... You could try just using NUPS to patch over, I don't know if it'll work though. You could also just patch over a clean ROM and then rename the save file to transfer the save file, or make a savestate and then transfer that savestate from the old version to the new version. BOth of those methods should work.

I can screen shot if needed.
EDIT: Would it be too much trouble if you replaced Lyn's theme with Ch.1's map music from FE6?

Also, no it wouldn't be hard, but I'm not going to because I don't want to... haha. And it would be too much trouble to insert that just for you and then give you a special patch, and I don't want that song ACTUALLY in the hack, so yeah, sorry man...
