Playing through your hack now. It's the first time I've ever play-tested somebody's hack.
NOTE #1: The Leila chibi mug needs some work. Chibi mugs have solid outlines, but Leila's doesn't. Not that noticeable and probably not that important, but I'm a nit-picker. 
NOTE #2: Thief-Leila is using the female Assassin map sprite, while Assassin-Leila is using the male Assassin map sprite? Is this supposed to happen? O.O
NOTE #3: The Rapier and Wolf Beil don't really count as legendary weapons, do they? They're rare, but they're not quite the same as the Mani Katti, which is unique and has a history behind it.
NOTE #4: Chapter 11 - The insertion of the Emblem weapons is a little... strange. And redundant. It's up to you really, but as they contribute neither to the gameplay nor the story, I'd rather have them taken out altogether.
NOTE #5: The Emblem Seal's description should be changed. I know it's the original description, but it doesn't tell the player anything.
NOTE #6: Chapter 12 - Leila says "Was that... Really necessary?" I think you mean "Was that... really necessary?"
NOTE #7: Chapter 18 - Matthew has a female Thief battle and map sprite. Also, when Eliwood and Co. find Matthew's corpse, his eyes are... open? I think it'd be better if they were closed.
I made a female Assassin sprite sheet for Leila a while back, but I never got around using it. If you want, I can pass it to you. (You've got to do some thingummies before you can insert it into the game, though, since it's just a sprite sheet.) |

Lets see...
1) You are correct, it needs some work. I just never really got around to it in the scramble to work on things where I had no real idea what I was doing

The chibi used in my public betas is just a resized version of the regular portrait. It is on my list of things to do.
2) There's actually no such thing as a female assassin sprite in FE7. The map and combat sprites are both Thief-F and are unique to Leila. As for assassin Leila using the male assassin sprite, that is supposed to happen. I felt no need to make a female assassin sprite since a female assassin would in reality, look identical to a male assassin. A female assassin would have her chest and hair bound while working anyway so that they did not impede her work, resulting in a figure very similar, if not identical, to the male assassin.
3) You are correct that the Rapier and Wolf-Beil have no legend behind them, but how would the balance of the game feel if I gave the mani-katti unlimited uses and not the weapons of the other two lords? If i'm going to break one lord's playability, I might as well do all three

4) The emblem weapons are a personal preference of mine. I really dislike having to take the time out of my gameplay to buy new weapons, and would prefer to use those that are given as rewards or looted from the enemy. I hold a certain enmity towards the entire shop system and would probably remove it if the project didn't seem like so much work. If you don't want to use them, you are more than welcome to toss them from your inventory and move on.
5) ...So? No offense, but I really see no need to change it. Adding words to item descriptions always runs the risk of clipping or overlap with other graphics, and is generally a pain. Besides, I think all of us here are intelligent enough to figure out what it does. (At least I would hope so)
6) As much as it bugs me as well, that capital is intentional. I was merely following the style used by the original text. If you look closely, there are other places in the game where the first letter after a pause in speech is capitalized. If I didn't have so much going on in my life, I would go through and check all of the game's text for spelling and grammar, but I can't. Sorry

7) As for the first issue, ...oops
As for the second, Matthew's eyes are supposed to be set to closed before the screen loads... I had to manually set the eyes to close after the portrait loads, but before it appears on screen, since there is no pre-closed eyes portrait of him already in the game like there is for Leila. Eventually I intended to whip one up, since it doesn't seem like it would be too difficult, but I never got around to it. It is on the list of things to eventually do.
I'm actually restarting this project nearly from scratch after losing the majority of my files to a computer meltdown. I would refer you to my new thread
