Hmm... So we can't edit events as off now... Unless they are mixed with the text, which I doubt... Bummer. >.<


...text editable by hex? ohmy.gif Oh boy, I predict lots of repointing in our future, guys. >.< Did they share the table files for text for the game, at least, or does it use simple tables? *Wonders if you even know what table files are* ...we don't use them in GBA FEs, so... <__<



About the plot, me likey it! biggrin.gif And if we make it a confront of the quality games vs. gaphic games, it would make sense they had monster graphics in the battles... That is the best way the Snes can render the Tidus model, as a big still image. XD So yeah, matching perfectly! biggrin.gif






...and finally, about how all of us can do it at the same time... IPS patches! We can just keep on sharing IPS files with our changes. If we make it our policy to post whenever we repoint something somewhere, and how big it got, we can just keep on sharing IPS files, and then patching all of them in the same file, so we all share the same rom in the end. ^__^

Beg to differ. Replace the 3 in the magitek with different people, in look of Kefka's tomb. Then Locke could be replaced by kefka. So you go there to revive him, and you leave the city with him. smile.gif

Could I help? I know Final Fantasy's battle mechanics fairly well. I can also edit sprites a little.

Ryru, does patching roms work like that? I've always got the impression that using a different patch would just overwrite the changes. :/

bblues, they're less than 5MB altogether.

I'll see how far I can compress it. xD And I'll also only send the useful ones. That should cut down on file size.

There's quite a few editors. The only working editors we don't have right now are maps, events, and text. But I'm working on getting working ones. Working. xD

bblues, they're less than 5MB altogether.

UPS Patching is like that, yeah. But the good old IPS, to be made, they compare a rom's original with the modified, put all modifications in a single file, compressed(I think), and that is what you get.


If there isn't info going in the same place, nothing overwrites nothing. smile.gif That is why we could use so many patches in the FE rom at the same time, all of FEditors autofixes too, and not feel the weight. wink.gif

I have Lunar IPS, but why don't we just pass around 1 ups patch just because it keeps everything organized, because calling offsets and crud will be confusing, and possible impossible (Going over due to unforseen events)

FELover, we will be doing it exactly so more than one person can work at it at the same time. ...besides, believe me, if it works like I think it does, we won't have THAT much repointing going on.(Unless we mean text. <__<)

Maps take space, sprites take space. Unless we want to do it professionally and make it fit making the game our be-otch.

But I dunno.

There is plenty in the game which isn't compressed, hence it doesn't take repointing. Nothing like GBA GE in that aspect, think Tile editor. wink.gif



...which reminds me I need to see how pointers work in the SNES, if I want to repoint things. >___>




About maps, do what you think is right dude. Then later on we can improve/decrease if needed. ^___^
