"You're SOLDIER" he yelled back. "In your wake all you leave is destruction. Shrina will come tomorrow, not caring if you stayed here or not. You're fleeing. You won't help defend the village. Why should they let you stay the night? You already gave them death. What more will you take?"

"Because everyone in SOLDIER is the same, right?" shouted Chaz sarcastically. "Who's leaving destruction in there wake? It sure looks to me like you're the only one destroing anything right now. You wrecked a lot of things yourslf right now with that earthquake and smog. Besides, how do you know what we want to do? For all you know we could be here to help you."

"A rag-tag group running from the direction of a Shrina base, their weapons coated in blood? Yes, everyone is SOLDIER is a cold-blooded killers, the good ones at least. I assumed you were good because you're still alive kid. Was I mistaken?" Taunting them now, delaying them from proceeding before the village was fully moved, Alexei pointed a sword at them. "Everything I just destroyed will regrow. What will regrow from the blood on your blades? Do you really think that you have enough power to stop Shinra? Do you really think stopping Shinra will change the world?" Feeling the warm glow of the village behind him on fire, he said "Do you see what your presence here has cost already? This village must have never existed to survive. SOLDIER. I spit on you." Alexei spits towards the SOLDIERs. "Anyone else care to mouth off? Perhaps you, Mankut? Or the other young one, with the wimpy gunblade? Perhaps the gun-totting cripple?"

((Alexei is a First Class SOLDIER, Mankut is a First Class SOLDIER. You said in your bio you were compared to Zack and Seph, I ignore the Cloud part as Cloud was a third class or something low so it wouldn't make sense, so obviously every other First Class SOLDIER would recognize you. Paying attention to bios does work, and help in some situations. Hint.))

Mankut stepped forward. "You seem pretty cocky. Think you could take all of us? All we did was come towards this village, then you attacked us.", Mankut said. Mankut took two steps forward and looked at Alexei. Mankut put one hand on his sword and the other in his pocket, in case Alexei made a move.

Alexei emitted a low laugh. "I was trained to take down rogue First Class SOLDIERS. Don't worry. None of you would be a problem for me." Tapping his face mask, he said "I'm surprised none of you recognized my voice yet. It would explain why you're still so confident."

Selene watched from within the shadows, the conversation that whipped back and forth constantly. Tension was rising between their force and the sole man, what he spoke was truth, by staying with the village they were putting everyone in danger. However they were in need of help, and in such dark times hospitality was a necessity at their current moment.

She recognized who it was as soon as he had spoken. Despite refraining from getting to know most of the others in her class and those above, his infamy was widely known.

"I find it interesting how a child slayer now protects instead of destroys." she stated idly.

"Wait". Mankut said. "You're the Child Killer!" Mankut pulled out his fire materia. ""I've heard you like to kill people for fun." Mankut said, glaring at Alexei. "You're as much danger to this village as we are."

Alexei froze. Standing in silence, he looked down and said "We must all make our amends somehow. These people, they took me in not knowing what I was, I never knew a new start was possible. You can pass through now, the village is gone. Never speak of this place again." Grabbing his swords, he turned around and walked away, heading back up the mountain nearby. Stopping momentarily and turning back to Mankut he said "Shinra has no record of me. I did what I had to for SOLDIER. All I did was my duty. Do not judge what you cannot understand."

Fine, I believe one can make amends" stated Selene plainly while shrugging "But we come to you in time of need, asking for mercy...and we receive nothing" She crossed her arms "Have you truly changed?"

"You're still living. Isn't that mercy enough?" Alexei replied coldly. "I killed who I had to kill. You all had your orders from SOLDIER. You all did them. Mine were just more brutal. You beg for help? There's a cabin up these hills. Food and shelter. Past it is a valley, continue that way to another compound. Just don't stick around here."

"Huh." Mankut stepped back and took his hand off his sword. "You could have refused your offers. I bet your "orders" were just a cover-up."

Alexei laughed. "You have too much respect for SOLDIER. They were tyrants, not heroes. That's why Shinra wants you dead."

"Shinra wants us dead, because a couple of our numbers decided to do...less than nice things," Leon interrupted, speaking about Sephiroth, Genesis, and Angeal. "Shinra fears us, and he rightly should. Infusing us with Mako was a bad move, though it grants us inhumane abilities, our minds are degraded after a long time, which is where you would come in, Alexai, I believe? Taking care of "rogue" SOLDIERs, the ones who cannot perform their duties any longer, and "retire?" Leon asked, sheathing his blade.

"Someone understands. Yes. I kill rogue SOLDIERS, and any who protect them. Now, continue on to the mountain cabin before Shinra finds your tracks." Alexei said, turning and walking down the direction the group had come.
