Compare it to your other mugs. Right now, the edges of the face and nose are much thicker than most FE mugs, so it looks kinda off, and the face shape's a little weird, too. The face shape in mine was intentional as it was supposed to resemble me. Oh, and minor nitpick. The trim on the far shoulder pad is thicker than on the near shoulder pad. Actually, the shoulder pads themselves don't quite match.

If you're gonna edit my mug, I'm gonna make sure it's perfect =P

For some reason, I just feel that neck is HUGE (widthwise) on the second one compared to the head...

On the Custom fix: Fix the eyes. The ear is still too low, and the far pauldron is lumpy. Try to get rid of unneccessary border color, and see if you can add a bit of chin jaw to the head.

On the Buff Lyon: Giraffe neck is not okay. Neck on the original should instead have 2 or 3 pixels shaved off the near side. Also lacks shading under the chin.

I think the original looked better and just needs some face reshading and neck reshading. Maybe the original could do with a 2-4 pixel higher neck, but not like 8 pixels.

Slightly thick trim in the middle of the green armor on the custom dude. Without zooming in it looks like you used a dark color to outline the trim and then shaded around it with the darkest color, making it look like a darker outline, looking bad. There are still some straight lines on the back of the dude's hair, the front of the dude's hair has some pillow shading, personally I find it hard to tell where the hair is like, coming from, like a hair line or something, the neck shading is still poor (reference an existing mug to get a better idea of how they are shaded, right now it's not pillow shaded yet it's still not properly shaded IMO), and lastly the eyes aren't very Fire Emblem like IMO. Looks like too much of the eyeball color and then just that speck of white... it's almost like anime style eyes or something...

Scratch out what I said about the eyes, if the rest of the stuff is fixed I think the eyes will look better.

If you want him to make a portrait based off of a character you have to tell him details about that character and give him a good image that he can use to make the portrait.

If he doesn't have an image to use then he won't know what the guy looks like. The image should be similar to how another FE character faces, looking a little to the left or right. :\

I know the angle's off for the image, but yeah, no directly facing the player mug please, he'd be talking to the characters, there is no tactician in FE8. Thanks if you do this.

Nicely done. There are a few things that don't look right (his right eye, the shading on the top-left of his hair, the little lines on the right side of his portrait's clothing) but my conception of the oddities is so vague that I couldn't tell you how to improve the portrait. XD
