hi person I don't remember lol

And most of this new stuff airing simply doesn't appeal that much to me, whether it be genre-pick (OH GOD THE MOEBLOBS SLICE-OF-LIFE, PLEASE NOT THE FUCKING MOEBLOBS!), art-style (This cutesy stuff rarely works for me), or simply overhype (I'm a pessimist by nature, if something is hyped up by others around me, I get drawn away from it. Or maybe I'm a hipster. I don't know.)

yeah I feel similarly. I can barely tolerate shows like GATE because they have some level of seriousness to them but the amount of fan service/moe designs/otaku stuff is just a bit much for my tastes. and I can't handle cutesy stuff, or rather I just really dislike it, even if it's supposedly dark like Madoka Magica or School Days or whatever that one zombie show was.

I'm also with you on the overhype, though I wouldn't say that's because of pessimism for me. It's more of the mentality/atmosphere. I like to get into things and judge things for myself, not try them just because they're hyped or like/hate it because X/Y did or something lol

hi person I don't remember lol

I don't expect you to, either :P. I was around for a little while in, what, 2011? And I did what I do best, lurk. Though I did make the King in The Last Promose incredibly fat, the king of Bern I think. Well, before you redid the story, never got around to playing the full release.

yeah I feel similarly.

Mhm. Well, I did actually like Madoka Magica (mainly because I grew up on Mahoy Shoujo anime), but its not something I would put amongst my favorites. But yeah, stuff like pointless fanservice can ruin an anime for me (TTGL being a huge example of this), and these fucking slice-of-life shows... And the ones that are worse... The "ironic" slice-of-life shows like that High School Boys thingy. Its just downright stupid.

That said, I don't mind cute stuff or something like that as bad as it may seem, I just want different artstyles for different shows... And no deconstructions of said genres (Evangelion, Madoka Magica and such), because honestly... They only pander to people that dislike said genres and doesn't help at all.

I'm also with you on the overhype, though I wouldn't say that's because of pessimism for me. It's more of the mentality/atmosphere. I like to get into things and judge things for myself, not try them just because they're hyped or like/hate it because X/Y did or something lol

Well, I mean, pessimism might be the wrong word in my case when I think about it, rather my dislike for things that get pointlessly big (Fire Emblem Awakening for instance, a good game, but far too overrated and easy.. And if you try to go the lunatic+ route, its mosly just bullshit you hardly can do anything about. Which made me slightly upset, meaning I rank it alongside Sacred Stones on my favorite FE list. And that's like midtier.) anyways, the point is, when things get overhyped, I get far more aware of the flaws in the show, and have an easier time disliking it as such. For instance, Attack on Titan was complete garbage to me, just a bunch of retarded giants running around, eating people in very poor animations and rehashed scenes, characters making any depth to them and... Ugh.

But still, I acknowledge that I enjoy some overhyped shit too, that's not it, but that's usually not the case.

Any spelling mistake can be blamed on me writing this on my phone.

ahh, I see. wait, so you worked on... one of the TLP sprites? (or TU back then, I guess.) well regardless, welcome back. Marisa is one of my all-time fave characters so at least for now you're a cool person in my books XD

I'm similar, except for the part of slice-of-life shows. I sometimes like them or am ok with shows with some elements of them if they're done well, which really depends on the characters. the main example I can think of this is Oregairu (see google) which has some of the best character development in any show I've watched + is something I could relate to in some ways, so yeah.

yeah subversions are... ok but I'm not one of those people that eats those up instantly. I feel like a friend of mine kinda does tho haha

@last couple paragraphs I getchu, again I'm similar. I try to hold back bias both ways (e.g. "this show is overhyped, time to overcritique it to compensate") but to some extent it still affects me, which is why I didn't wildly praise One Punch Man like so many others, the hype just kinda turned me off from that and so I enjoyed it a lot (especially the later episodes) but in a more, like... chill way, lol

Nah, I wish. I can't sprite for shit. It was mainly me finding a way to rescue the king by using two palas and the main priest guy's inspire ability, causing some fun glitches. I think I actually have the video where I showcased this on my yt. Its an incredibly specific event tho so its ok if you don't remember heh.
Marisa <3 shame she's in one of the most boring Fire Emblems tho. First time I did hacking, I switched out Lyn with Marisa in FE7 (horrible result but was fun)

Mhm, that's fine mate. I have a friend that digs slice-of-life, and its taken me about three years to get him mildly interested in anime with more depth, but again I don't really care about what others watch. Just don't rub it in my face kthxbyeplz.
I've heard of Oregairu, but never bothered watching it :P

Fuck 'em. Evangelion fans are literally the worst kind of people around.

Well, from what I've seen of OPM (which is mainly the manga I admit), its mainly a huge joke anime made to chill. Like most shounen, I feel. But ye, its a pretty fun series, tho I don't think that's a "marathon" anime kinda, more as a "break" one. Y'know, the stuff you watch in-between stuff you get highly attached to, just so that you can chill and get over the emotional stress after realizing theres never gonna be anymore of that show. I think OPM fits that stuff.

ahhh I think I vaguely remember something like this, but regardless I can kinda imagine what it's like, haha. yeahhh, some people really like breaking the game, huh? XP

Marisa <3 shame she's in one of the most boring Fire Emblems tho. First time I did hacking, I switched out Lyn with Marisa in FE7 (horrible result but was fun)

haha, despite that I like her and FE8. though I'm an FE fanboy of sorts so :P

haha right? I gotcha. I hate having things rubbed in my face. I'm not one to give suggestions unless I know what you like/what you're into and you seem to want it (or say you do outright), so yeah

I've heard of Oregairu, but never bothered watching it :P

from my impression of you thus far, you wouldn't like it. it's super good IMO, but it's also super niche, as opposed to something with wider appeal like OPM

ohh dang, harsh haha. not sure why you mentioned Evangelion fans or what they did but I don't think my friend is one, and he's kiiiinda my bf so I'm not going to hate him regardless of what he likes XD Cero tho, I won't like him regardless of what he likes *shot*

oh right I totally forgot but don't want to edit my already-quote-filled earlier post

I came here to say I still can't decide if GATE Is good or not

the latest episode was much better focused due to not trying to show a ton of different things in different places, but rather focusing on a main set of events with a bit of other stuff going on, but the actual content was still a little... *rolls eyes*, and idk. mixed feelings overall

I'll probably keep watching this show but I feel like the execution is bleh and it has a lot of wasted potential. maybe the light novel is better (supposedly it's darker and stuff) but idk.

Weeeell~ just doing what's expected of a betatester~ But yeah, I love finding glitches.

FE8 isn't bad, its just boring. Gerik's squad is the only crew with fun stuffs, and Joshua to a degree. The only FEs i do not play however is the first three. They e aged horribly.

Yeah, I'm the same. If someone asks me for recommendations, i need to know what they like. If they say "everything" like a true casual, i send them to watch Shigurui (best anime).

Yeah, i thought so too. When you've been in the business for a while, you kinda mostly look for stuff you like after all.

They annoy me. "omg Eva is so deep and such did you understand what the creator tried to say" "yeah totally bro its so deep and shit" lmfao no, it was basically just trying to say "live outside of your comfort zone, because thats where life is". Its not deep at all. Its just a bunch of retarded robots eating each others and a pussy mc, a robot-like chick and an über tsundere side-chick. And it ends in congratulations. This show is just garbage. And their fans are so loud, like they attack any other anime with slight signs of depth by saying "Eva did it better" which isn't true and if they actually understood the meaning of Eva themselves they'd be ashamed of themselves because the meaning is literally as deep as these motivations videos like "JUST DO IT" and kd few jsnzs NJ djdjdnfjd /rant-end
Well, as long as your friend ain't obnoxious, then that's fine :P. Also, that's gay, omfg so gay! Ahh so ghey! [hint-of-irony-should-be-prevalent-in-that]

Anyways I've finished season 4 of GX. Was fun, a huge improvement from the first season lol. Started watching Arc-V and it looks pretty promising, heard it became really good after episode 30. Currently on episode 5 so I'm almost there kind of lol.

Picked up ERASED. Not a fan of little kids and such being the main characters in a story but thankfully it's free of anything too creepy or moe or the like so I'm pretty much cool with it.

The plot is rather exciting though I have a feeling it's not going to end well and idk, though the show isn't perfect it seems pretty good overall and the characters feel relatively believable and decently written so yeah.

Other than that, just keeping up with AC (good), GATE (decent/sometimes good but often bleh), One Piece (gear 4th hype, though the animation is still not as good as I reasonably wish it'd be, haha...), and Haikyu!!, which is amazing/probably my favorite show of this season and the last, haha.

Don't think I'm missing anything else... (I don't count RWBY as an anime so I'm not listin' it here)

My sis and I tried to watch Nanatsu no Taizai recently, but we gave up, it's like they picked up the most clichéd plot from the 70s and only released it nowadays.

still trying to keep up with dragon ball super. It's got this special brand of mind numbing stupidity mixed with explosions and lasers that is pretty appealing some days. Other than that I'm not really watching any anime right this moment. Mostly reading/working/playing games.

wait, Dragon Ball Super is still a thing? or are you just catching up or something? O_o

either way, RWBY the not-anime-but-like-an-anime thing is over so now I'm just keeping up with GATE, Assassination Classroom, ERASED, Haikyu!!, and One Piece. GATE is ok though it's taken a meh-ish turn just now (I don't like harems...), AC is the usual funny stuff, ERASED is pretty crazy and intense in general and I'm super curious to see what happens next, Haikyu!! is awesome as usual and with last episode letting us release that tension a bit we're now heading to an awesome match against rivals, and One Piece is in this period right before the final/true climax of the arc, so yeah, that's a thing. Yeah Super is still a thing lol. They finally got out of the movie recap stage and are finally putting out new content.

I marathoned all current 19 episodes of Gundam Iron Blooded Orphans. It's pretty good show, with some badass main characters. Though I find the low key romance thing going on with the main character and two love interests to be pretty weird and just pretty unnecessary.

I started watching things on my plan to watch list because this season has almost nothing that really interests me.

First one up is Maria the Virgin Witch, which I heard be praised for its historical accuracy, particularly when it comes to combat.

...turns out the protagonist's primary purpose in life is to cockblock everyone on a battlefield from killing each other.

This is one of those shows where the only time I'm interested is when things don't go right for the main character...and at least enough of that has happened to keep me going up to episode 6 now.

I believe in judgment of humans through their judgment of fiction, for nothing else tells better of their disposition freed from apprehension.

this season is pretty trash, though then again I say that about most seasons

but like really, outside of finishing AC, there's like... that my hero academy show which is ok, Bungou Stray Dogs which is ok, the Ace Attorney anime which is ok if you're a fan and can put up with the quality issues/inconsistencies, and... yeah, idk, there's really nothing that feels like a must-watch or even a high-recommend, even for fans of a specific genre--I guess it's still early but eh

as for what anime I'm watching, all the ones I just mentioned :P I also tried Kiznaiver but it doesn't seem great yet so... gonna give it one more episode and see how it goes from there.

Re: ZERO is supposedly ok but a quick glance made me think it's probably not my thing, only going to watch it because of Seraph lol

can catch up on some other anime tho that I dropped, like SHIROBAKO and maybe FMA, yay~
