it sucks that I am once again going to miss out on all the talk around a game and only get to play it after it's mostly irrelevant and stuff. CAN'T PLAY THEM ALL AT LAUNCH, OK

 

anyhow, what I'm playing... I've got a ton of playthroughs going (as usual) but in terms of what I am more actively playing or trying to beat:

 

- SteamWorld Dig (Wii U)

- Swords & Soldiers (Wii U)

- Armillo* (Wii U)

- Super Smash Bros. for Wii U (Wii U) (duh, it has "Wii U" in the title lulz)

- Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millenium Girl (3DS) (about time I actually get to seriously making some progress in this game, even if I'll soon end up putting it down for a long while again)

- Final Fantasy Type-0 HD (PS4) (it's actually somehow starting to get fun enough to be worth playing... barely)

 

Less so other stuff like BlazBlue: ChronoPhantasma (Vita), Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark (Wii U), Child of Light (Wii U), Mario Kart 8 (Wii U), and anything else I haven't touched recently enough to mention, so yeah. Hopefully in the week after finals I get to just destroy my backlog... err, make a dent in it, anyway

in this moment I re-played to Spyro the Dragon on Ps1 (on emulator because I knew the game I had borrowed to a old friend)

and I play Crypt of The Necrodancer <3 and I continue my Old save about Crash Team Racing on my PS3 (Retrocompatibility I love you, I can read my PS1 games on my PS3 ♥)

I thought we had a general thread like this to go along with current on going anime and like music, but apparently we don't, so I'll make one now.

 

I've picked up Sonic Adventure 2 recently. There's a speedrunner on twitch who's rather good at it and made me want to attempt 100%ing the game casually, even A ranking some. Have to say it's really rewarding to crush stages that were super difficult for me when I was younger. lol

So far I've been breaking my time up between Splatoon, Puzzles and Dragons Z/Mario Bros Edition, Advance Wars: Dual Strike and Mega Man Battle Network 3.

 

Splatoon is hella fun as to be expected! It's really fun to just jump into a game and duke it out for a few minutes. Matches are frenetic and it's such a blast to go around and being a dork and spraying ink everywhere. :3 I'm not very good at it but I've been enjoying all the matches I've been in!

 

Puzzle and Dragons is pretty basic. One of them match three casual games that I can play on the bus or at work when no one's around or even in bed~ I do enjoy the Mario Bros. coat of paint on it though. It feels pretty fun and it's at least an interesting twist. Plus I can play it forever and not have to pay extra money. Haha.

 

Advance Wars: Dual Strike is pretty good so far! Made it to Chapter 5 or 6... I should go back to it. I haven't played an Advance Wars game since Days of Ruin came out back in 08 and I skipped Dual Strike since it was super rare and I didn't get a DS until Mid-2007. >: But it's aged well and I still got the groove when it comes to playing the series.

 

Mega Man Battle Network 3 I grabbed on the Wii U Virtual Console. I remember hearing about the series forever ago and I got into it when the second game came out. I enjoyed it for the most part, but I never got any others. I decided to read up on the first game and refresh myself with the second before diving into the 3rd game. I'm most likely gonna skip the 4th one because everyone says it's really really really bad. Haha.

My friends managed to get me to start playing Dota 2. I also began playing my second Lunatic+ playthrough on Awakening, and also picked up the first two of The Witcher series because I heard good things about the third one. I've also been neglecting completing Xenoblade Chronicles, I'm 100 hours in and very close to beating the story.

I've mostly been playing Splatoon along with one other game... that's pretty much it right now. Splatoon is super fun and I'm not terrible/sometimes do well (unlike other shooters, really) so that's cool. And it's just super fresh/stylish and full of swag and I like that, it's a real nice change of pace compared to playing the same old and stuff (not that I don't like the series I play, but a quality new IP is just great). But yeah, been kinda busy and cut down on playing a variety of games like usual. It's a shame because I have a bunch of games I really do need to get back to soon, lol. Preferably before I forget too much about them and it becomes difficult to play them >_>;

It's one thing I'm liking about Splatoon, though. It's like a video game snack. It's easy to pick up and play and matches go by pretty quickly. When you need to take a break from something, you can just load this up and get some fresh air in a way.

Playing a lot of Heroes of the Storm lately, I enjoy the range of characters and the more objective based and team focused gameplay that it has compared to the other widespread MOBA's.

 

And Age of Empires 2, I want to get decent so I can play online against others but my hotkeys and muh macros are poor at the moment... just means I need to play more.

I am obsessed with the Witcher atm, actually restarted on the hardest difficulty just to prove I could XD. With studying I don't think I'll be able to beat the Witcher 3 any time soon though. I'm not currently playing it but I'm interested in getting a Wii U and playing Splatoon and Smash with you guys. I'll probably buy one next month. That last part is for Blazer in case her didn't check skype before he saw this post.

yup, that's definitely nice. I like to do a good set of matches until I'm satisfied, but I mean, with matches only taking 3 minutes, a good 7 rounds can be only 30 minutes, while still feeling kinda satisfying... idk, I like the dynamic it has =P

haven't played Heroes of the Storm but if I got into a MOBA it might be that one (if only so i can get the couple of SCII references and such I'm assuming it has)

 

AoE II is kind of a classic though as I believe I mentioned before, the game really hasn't aged well in my opinion. I can't be bothered to learn the hotkeys and macros and such because I don't like the setup lol, like it's just not modern enough or whatever for me. I'd probably still be down to play you online though, just for fun.

hey, you admit it yeah don't let TW3 hurt your real priorities (studying or whatever). You finally getting a Wii U is an exciting prospect, I've wanted to play stuff with you for a while XD hopefully your internet holds up well enough so that us Wii U owners can get together and have some good times playing Splatoon and Smash and such =)

Good, because that is a really good game and I love it and I know all its secrets like the back of my hand!

 

This makes me want to replay all the Castlevanias again..

 

I think I'll start with the original and work my way up in order of release! xD

ahh okay, fair. yeah, feels like if you didn't pick up the game day-1 or close to it (most people couldn't/didn't know about it or expect it to be real, let's be fair...) it was going to cost you quite a bit lol, the 3DS remake is nice in that sense, lets people who couldn't play it due to the price play some version of it XP

LOL, that did not take very much motivation, IMO. just like from my perspective I see

The same thing happens with me when people mention Metroid or Zelda or anything of the sort. Haha.
