France can still get to the second round. I doubt they will, though, because frankly, I can see Uruguay - Mexico end in a draw quite easily (probably 1 - 1). We'll see what happens, though.

Maybe Mexico beats Uruguay (hope so) and South Africa pulls off a 5 - 0 victory against France, and then South Africa will advance to the second round. Now that would be unexpected : )

Yeah, and seeing France's general lack of drive, they most likely won't win against SA, and probably get knocked out without even scoring a goal.

Okay, England were abysmal, first half they let Algeria play all they wanted, now I don't mind that, inter Milan won the champions league doing that inviting pressure on, but my god, England didn't tackle, close down, control the ball, a miriad of different things.

Andy Townsend was wracking his brains trying to figure out why gerrard wasn't playing as well like he did against USA. I'll tell you why GERRARD DOESN'T PLAY ON THE LEFT. I've seen him play there for Liverpool, he hates it, he does nothing, he loves the middle. Lampard should have been taken out for Joe Cole and Gerrard back to center

England are not out of it, but they're not exactly looking like the contenders they were portrayed to be. I thought they might hit the quarters, but I'm doubting it now. Yes, the Gerrard-Lampard problem has arisen again. Lampard had a better season, but bleh in the WC, Joe Cole should be on that wing, and Gerrard behind the strikers.

The Netherlands versus Japan should be a good match to watch. We have plenty of fun players to watch, and they've got people like Honda (I already 'know' Honda from VVV Venlo in the Netherlands), who always seems to be in great shape.

Should be a good match. But, of course, we're going to win ; )
