I actually extremely rarely drop my phone grabbing the headphone wires. But I do tend to drop(shove) it while it's on a table and my headphone wire falls off of my headphones all the time...

 

Somehow, the former is never a problem with my handheld consoles.

 

I remembered what that other music show was, it's named "Show by Rock!" and it...well it's kind of designed to be a "wtf just happened" kind of show, and tbh there is a part of me that wanted to go for more, but the existence of animal ear people that turn into chibi furries in it makes me really uncomfortable for some reason so I'd rather not. I should have guessed given that it's apparently Sanrio's thing though.

 

Also episode 3 of SNAFU is out. IN WHICH THERE IS MUCH DRAMA. AND SILENT BGM. AND SILENT BGM DRAMA. You know something is very, very wrong when Hikigaya isn't even going gaga over Saika greeting him. (but I totally agree with his sister being annoying as hell.)

 

I see Haruno continues to be the master of disingenuous smiles in this new world of super-budget-shininess.

 

Kaori is a pro at making chemistry in fiction. She's just being so casually dickish to him for no reason it's fucking amazing. Like, i'm getting kind of jealous here, even I didn't master the art of being a natural asshole to that extent. The best part is that she blends in so well with normal social conventions nobody would even find it out of place.

 

I'm suddenly super interested in Hayama's relationship with Haruno.

 

Just looking at some names, I also started watching Seraph of the End. In which the main character is the survivor of a sudden outbreak and is then placed in a sealed area away from the virus. However in an attempt to reach the outside world again with his new friends, he watches his best friend die in an attempt to save him, and flees from the scene with great frustration over his powerlessness. Thus he begins his journey to KILL ALL THE VAMPIRES, UNTIL EVERY LAST ONE OF THEM IS EXTERMINATED!!!

 

A.K.A. "Attack on Vampire" now with more pedophiles...and wait is that high school in the preview OH FOR FUCK'S SAKE I THOUGHT I FINALLY GOT AWAY FROM THAT SHIT UGH.

yeaaahhh the drama is real in this episode and it kind of broke my heart a bit T_T COME ON HIKKI YOU CAN DO IT, CHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNGGGGEE

 

I know the whole theme is he won't change and doesn't need to change but I really honestly think he can change while still being himself. I don't think he needs to become superficial or anything, if anything he's being dumber/breaking his own values as-is; more than just changing, he needs to grow, and he's being really stubborn about it and he won't open up to anyone >_<

 

anyway, I also thought similarly when he didn't react in the usual weird way when Saika greeted him. a small but noteworthy detail that shows that things really aren't the same, or at least, he's still thinking about what happened/combating some thoughts so it's not like he's just perfectly fine with everything and is moving on... but he's just putting up with it and trying to shove it down. the norm isn't the norm, in a way.

 

Haruno is a cool character, not great but ok I guess

 

Kaori was a jerk yeah I don't really want to get to know her more but i think she'll have somewhat of a role here... anyhow we'll see how it plays out

man this show is just so good I feel like it depicts things in such an interesting manner it's sooo not just a shallow slice of life/drama thing full of anime tropes it reminds me of my own school life in a couple of ways, I mean that's not to say it doesn't have its stereotypes, cliches, etc. but it really is somewhat of a subversion of the usual rom-com and slice of life type shows and it's not even that special I just think it executes things well and really has me as a viewer invested... I want someone to break through to Hikki but nothing works

 

I mean his sister was annoying, sure but she IS trying to help (and sounds a bit weird; new voice actor?)... and the teacher and Haruno clearly mean well for him too... and Yui cares as well, obviously, or she wouldn't act the way she does. And even Yukino cares plenty; contrary to what some people apparently think she's not just a b****, she wouldn't be visibly upset if she didn't feel hurt and for her to feel hurt that means she must have been at least somewhat invested in her relationship with Hikki... that is to say, even if they didn't admit it, they still had something akin to respect and friendship between each other and Hikigaya betrayed that by doing what he did and pretty much being adamant that what he did was ok, it "worked out" (gave results), and that he would continue to do things like that/wouldn't change

 

in other words, she probably wouldn't be that upset if she didn't care

 

asklaksjdklasd man Oregairu too good I just need more I need it and I need it NOW ahasdoasd only 9 episodes left I think... T_T every time I watch it my mind just focuses on it and I have a hard time getting it off/moving on, it stinks, I'm just too invested into the show and I need more, watching it is so painful and yet it's also so enjoyable, I need some kind of relief, MAKE WITH THE HAPPINESS, give me the next 9 episodes right now and I will WATCH THEM AAAAAAAAAHH

 

seriously though if this show ends on a sad note (Hikki doesn't grow as a person, everyone graduates and moves on and it's a bad-end and whatnot) I will cry and be depressed and never forgive the author YOU CANNOT LET THIS HAPPEN YOU WILL BREAK MY HEART AND I WILL COMMIT SEPPUKU T_T

It's a cliche shonen battle show with BL undertones. The first episode gets you thinking that it's closer to being an Attack on Titan clone but then HIGH SCHOOL HAPPENS for some dumb reason.

 

The best thing about the show is being able to go all like "totally not gay or anything nope nothing to see here" whenever the MC isn't fighting something. Probably wouldn't be watching it if it wasn't for how it's been 4 years since I saw anything of this flavor. (This season doesn't have much for me to watch either.) The animation is kind of amazing in it for some reason, though it's also rather old in style (like 2000-2005ish maybe.)

 

Also, I specifically linked that YT video based on a certain time because I couldn't find someone else making a GIF of the spinning backflip scene, but for some reason it mistimes on my end and I'm not sure if it works at all on others'.

I have downloaded every First episode from this first season (Except for shows that were Sequel shows, which there were a lot of) and I will get to those tonight and give my verdict here after I've watched them.

 

 

Watched the first 4 episodes of Sailer Moon Crystal. Apart from sketchy 3D animation that looks a little out of place at times and the main characters voice sometimes screeching, t's pretty solid and a lot of fun.

Oremonogatari: Big Wrestler dude falls for a really cute girl. Apart from the main character, all the characters are really pretty (But that's the point). It wasn't as funny as I expected, but it was still adorable and very cute with some nice animation. Would watch a few more episodes. 6/10

 

Gunslinger Stratos: A show about alternate timelines by Square Enix, seems pretty cool with lightsabers and laser guns and tons of characters with relations we have no idea about. First episode looked promising and ended on a cliff hanger so will e watching more. 7/10 to start with, shows some promise.

 

Houkago no Pleadies: This show was super pretty, with some awesome animation and lighting effects. The characters are adorable and the main character seems to be decently written and shows promise based on what I've seen. It's about 5 girls who have to protect the sky by capturing stars and using them for some reason, think I stopped paying attention at that moment for a second. It was lovely though.

 

Still to watch: Dungeon ni Deai [...], Kekkai Sensen (Magical Barrier Blockade), Mikagura Gakuen Kumikyoku, Plastic Memories, Punch Line, Re-Kan!, Seraph of the End, Triage X

Got bored.  Visited Reddit.  They had a short piece on Ghost Stories.  Long story short, it's an exceedingly mediocre anime in Japan which bombed.  They begged ADV to make a profit by any means possible (with a skeleton of the story kept).

 

I think you know where this is going.  It's basically a professionally done Abridged series.  I'll just put it in perspective by posting a line from the first five minutes of what used to be a kid's anime (said by a grandpa who never shows up again):

 

When this bitch kicks, I'm movin' to Vegas.

 

It's just that sort of series. 

 

Sounds like a lot of anime fans wanted to hate it because it's everything wrong in dubbing...an absolute overhaul of the original script.  But it's kind of fun so far and I hear it just slowly descends into madness. 

 

It also pushes its boundaries from what I've heard.  Everybody is an acceptable target at some point.  Heck, the commentary apparently lists Mel Gibson's infamous "Jew rant" as something they wished happened just a little earlier so they could reference it.

and yeah episode 4 was packed full of drama and stuff. Yui <3 still my fave character, even though she's "weak", she's "useless", whatever, she has a heart of gold and as Hikki says, "is a wonderful girl". She's tired of just having others hurt themselves and carry all the burden.

 

And Hayato is actually a very complicated secondary character, in general the character in this show are all just a tiny bit deeper than people give them credit for at first, but I think Hayato is actually much more than just a simple "popular nice guy", and Yukino isn't a bitch, and Yui isn't a "genki girl", and Hachiman isn't just an edgy loner... they're all complicated characters and I feel like I can connect with most of them, somehow, in different ways...

 

I take this show especially seriously though so eh~ it's funny but I'm totally invested in the relationships and everything...

 

oh, that reminds me, I need to watch Assassination Classroom, the only other anime I'm watching this season...

 

oh, and though it's not airing this season, I pretty much finished the Chimera Ant Arc of Hunter x Hunter and it was great. Cried at the end. Seems like there's a little bit left before I finish the anime and it should give some kind of closure, excitement, and idk. I'm looking forward to finally wrapping things up when I have the time.

Time to try the first episode of Lucky Star and see how silly this is.

 Let's see, back when I first attempted to watch Lucky star, I remember them talking about food for like 10 minutes and kinda dozing out not really remembering much then my internet cutting out and I said screw it and went to bed not really getting back to it. lol

 

Since then I finished up K-On today, both seasons and the movie. Wonderful series filled with light-heartedness and it always left me with a smile on my face, even making me laugh on a fair number of occasions. It just left a super happy aura around me. Not sure what I was going to watch now besides more K-On that doesn't exist. lol

I've found it's a series you can't watch straight or marathon in any way since the humour style is the same from start to finish.  I'll have my fill after an episode or two then move onto something else for a while.

sadly life isn't as simple as that statement that Akasaka made or whatever, if people really want to keep up a relationship in earnest they need some kind of thread with which to remain connected to each other. otherwise it's just a forced connection that requires effort on both sides. it's not that a relationship can't hold true no matter the distance or whatever, it's that it simply won't show on the same level if you lose that opportunity to interact and such. idk, I can't really explain it well, it really is complicated.

 

anyhow I will watch the latest episodes of Yahari/Oregairu/SNAFU and Assassination Classroom soon... don't feel like it now, mostly because I'm tired and kinda already know what happens a little? maybe? actually I can't remember................................................................................. eh Oregairu depresses me anyway because I relate to the characters too much and am far too invested in their fictional life

I will say though, I am also like Yui then, I don't like moving on/have a hard time with it. I pretend to be ok but when it comes to friends especially, I have a veeeerrry hard time moving on. I'm a super sentimental person. Various other things I'm totally cool with and it's like "yeah whatever no biggie I don't care". also I suffer from a lot of emotional wounds/trauma and most of them haven't healed and I haven't been able to move on and might not ever be able to, sadly. I honestly think to myself that I've been emotionally scarred for life. And I'll probably never return to being a truly happy person again, even if I can still pretend to be happy on the outside, or "live in the moment" and be happy for short periods of time (i.e. when I'm not being dragged into the darkness by what feels like the grim reality that constantly haunts me).

 

EDIT: Oh yeah I finally got over the hump and started watching F/SN UBW again. I think I'm up to episode 7 maybe? Decent progress, watched some episodes. Idk when I'll continue next. Sort of down on interest again. I'm not a fan of some elements/execution of this so idk. It's good, the fights are awesome, the music isn't bad, but somehow my heart just isn't in it. It feels like unless I'm in the heat of a really well-animated action scene, I can't really enjoy it. and even then, somehow a sense of... something... idk, fulfillment? just isn't there...

It's not complicated at all.

 

Relationships are built primarily on accumulated meaningful contact with each other, and thrives from continued contact.

 

Loss of opportunity to add more contact with each other will cause the relationship to weaken over time.

 

Factors in the members' lives will become more invisible (basically: what's going on in the others' life) and thus remove how much the members of the relationship can associate with each other, increasing the distance between them.

 

Eventually the relationship is either a shadow of what it was in the past or dissipates entirely for these reasons.

 

But thankfully we now have internet to significantly weaken this effect (even if it's still going to happen.)
