All right, if this is going to be a thing, it's time to set up OBS to capture my VBA screen so I can upload. (OBS uses .flv which is MUCH less space-consuming than .avi files.)

 

Wait, is savestate abuse allowed or no? I'm going to assume no.

I have to hand it to Blazer for bothering with Lyn's mode. I cannot stand it. It's the #1 reason why I don't play FE7.

 

EDIT: Unless he's doing the tutorial-less version. In which case... There is that one chapter that's unwinnable in the that version.

I think he means the one you get if nils is level 7 before lyns mode is completed.

In Hector Mode, there is a chapter 19xx, which is acquired by having Nils get to level 7 in Lyn mode, and killing Kishuna in 19x.

I never bothered with it though because I never used nils and ninian.

I use Nils...and refuse to use Ninian. Because I'm weird like that, yo.

Thanks for all the posts! I've updated the first post! Sorry for taking so long, I finally got back from my trip just recently and I've been trying to relax and play catch up, so here I am~

We can start in a couple of days, though we're still looking for someone to do FE5.

ahaha, maybe. I didn't think of that, but I could live through either, maybe. I could always hack away the tutorial and not play hard mode, too. I don't know what chapter is 'unwinnable' though.

part of why I like FE7 is all the split chapters and gaiden chapters, adds depth and arguably replay value to it IMO

they're good units in their own way IMO but I kinda feel ya since they're so defenseless and unique and such lol

 

AS FOR THE GAME PLAN FOR THE MARATHON. I'D LIKE TO START ON THE 15TH OF AUGUST. THEN JUST KEEP BEATING GAMES AS WE CAN UNTIL HOWEVER LONG IT TAKES. THE FASTER THE BETTER THOUGH. IF YOU'RE GOING TO RECORD A GAME AND NOT LIVE STREAM IT, PLEASE DO IT SOONER THAN EARLIER AND HAVE THE VIDEOS READY TO UPLOAD AND STUFF.

 

PLEASE STREAM THE GAMES ON YOUR OWN CHANNEL AND THEN WE'LL HOST IT ON MY CHANNEL TOO (assuming I can get it to work). MAKE SURE TO SHARE YOUR STREAM LINK AND POST HERE AS YOU STREAM. I'LL SHARE STUFF ON TWITTER AND IN OTHER PLACES TOO ON OCCASION.

 

It's just a suggestion, but doing it during the day is probably better. And you should export the Twitch streams to YouTube if you can so we have them archived. Call it like "Fire Emblem Marathon - FE# with ______", obviously putting in the # of the game and your name.

 

Savestate abuse is allowed. Cheating is looked down upon/keep it to a minimum. As long as it's minor/pretty close to the OG experience though I don't really care. We may have some overlap, i.e. have two people playing games at once, to make things go faster, but we'll generally try to keep things simple and we want to avoid having two people stream at once.

 

Finally, take note of your completion time and any other cool info after you beat it. We'll make a final post with that kind of stuff. Info like what characters you used or the MVP of your team for instance.

I'm probably going to be recording since my internet can barely handle playing smash while other people are around, so do you want me to have all the videos like uploaded to YouTube as private until we're ready for 4,or just have them sitting on my hard drive for now?

Edit: also I better get started. I'm notoriously bad at finishing things on time =p

I seem to recall that the boss of the chapter was a shaman. I believe the goal was "Defeat the boss," but after he was defeated, nothing happened. Game acted like he hadn't been killed. I had to load up the original, vanilla game and beat him to continue.

*checks date* That's tomorrow. crapcrapcrapcrap. I've been procrastinating and this is what I get LOL! I have the first two chapters down, at least. Good news is that starting tomorrow, I'll have the house alone for a couple of days. Perfect chance for recording stuff.
