One could argue Fire Emblem did too from an SRPG to something much closer to RPG pure. Closer to Disgaea RPG than X-COM strategy you could say. Not as drastic a shift, no, but there's still a shift from the norm and it scares the long ingrained fans.

Meh, she's not a groundbreaking unit, outside her skill if you want to pass it down to Morgan. Outside of that, unless you're trying to go 100% completion, getting her is optional. Also, that chapter was just really fun, in my opinion. It was sort of challenging because you can potentially be fighting units on par with yours, but people really missed opportunities to exploit that chapter to make it incredibly easy, like sending Chrom, another competent unit (preferably with 1-2 range), and an army of underleveled or weak characters (like the Bonus Box characters). You just reclass all the weaklings to staff users, use a few Arms Scrolls, give one staff user Rescue to prevent Aversa from killing herself off the foes' faces and Physic to heal your guys in case of an emergency, block the path to the weaklings with your two units, and bam.

Right up until that moment when you realized you gave most of your units Lethality and that getting attacked gives a small chance of being murdered. Hard. Oh, and Aversa was way too weak at that point to do anything, so you had to rush your army forward to protect her as well.

It's a great chapter if I didn't turn it into a luck based mission myself

I edited my post. Hopefully that expands a bit on what I meant, although not specifically on what you wrote. However, for that, there's no reason to not unequip Lethality.

I didn't even know what the map was until I started it.

It was a first attempt win, but completely luck based.

Ah, alright. I'll be completely honest in saying that although I had a strong suspicion what was up, I still lost a few units on my first shot. (Mainly due to the fact that I severely favoritized some of my units and let others go through the final chapter before reaching 20/15, but I'm pretty sure Lethality procced at least once.)

Just do the thing I said, then. If you don't feel like it, then play it normally- if your units are all competent and they have good weapons (Brave, legendary, or forged B rank normal weapons), it's in your favor, as the enemies have normal B rank weapons as well as stuff like spears or staffs.

I for one am ok with more waifus (and husbandos, because why not). Granted, I'd like the dialogue to be less corny/always trying to be humorous than it was for some of Awakening's romantic supports, but otherwise, Awakening's were pretty okay, and I'm sure they'll just be better if they continue having actual support conversations, as opposed to 9/10's support "conversations".

I'm assuming he meant 10/11, which both had supports gameplay wise (although FE11's were hidden) but didn't have support conversations. Although for what it's worth it looks like FE10 planned to have support conversations and they got cut for some reason.

Heck, I only became interested in the series because I played as Ike all the time in Smash Bros. And if I like one game in a series, I'll tend to look into the others. And guess what. A lot of other gamers are the same way. So Awakening being recognized by the general public as a good game is a good thing. Because whether you realize it or not, it means more publicity for the WHOLE SERIES. Not just Awakening. Even moreso because Awakening has that whole, "advertising every other game" thing going. I honestly don't get what you're getting so upset over. Do you need a hug from Reimu?

Yeah, this game is giving the series a lot more popularity. But the problem is that Awakening got the series so much attention. As you could probably tell quite a few of us aren't that happy with what Awakening did. But this game had a lot of success. So IS is most likely going to make another game like Awakening because they don't want to lose this success. That is what we are upset about. (my main problem with this game is the writing and lack of character depth. and second seals)
