Just so you know, you were supposed to attach 4 Fire energies on Charizard before using Fire Spin (or any energy thanks to its power ENERGY BURN which converts any energy into Fire energy). Then after using it, you put 2 Fire energies in the Discard pile (finally got the name right) and after that you need to put two more energies on Charizard in order to use Fire Spin again. Unfortunately, NO ONE at my time knew how to play it right.
Oh yeah, and you need to have an undamaged Charmander evolve into Charmeleon and make the undamaged Charmeleon evolve into Charizard. You can't just place Charizard into the battle zone alone. But of course, if anyone had Charizard, it was an automatic win. X_X
BTW Fire Spin is such a weak move in the game. I don't see how it translated into an uber move for the card game O_O

A lot, stopped watching it after Jhoto. Still have the silver version of the game and i play it from time to time.

What?! Does the Internal Battery STILL work? Lucky you... my Gold version's battery died out a long time ago.

Ya it still works, but i don't play it as much cause my GBA:SP screen is cracked a little bit. I also had a ROM for it but the computer i had it on broke.

Wow, your internal battery life must be strong then. I had no idea that the GSC cartridges used internal batteries to keep it running. At one point, I realized that it would stop working and no matter how many times I saved it would never actually save.
It doesn't matter now though... because the metagame for GSC was not stable. It was a huge stallfest, with Curselax and Skarmbliss combos running all over the metagame... and don't forget the Hypnosis + Mean Look + Perish Song + Pain Split Misdreavus that haunted the stallish nature of this game...
Although there were many good innovations added in that game, there were some stuff I didn't like... especially the reduction of the AI's levels. I wasn't pleased to find out the Elite 4's strongest Pokemon was a level 50 Dragonite (which cannot happen because that same Dragonite was level 63 three years before this! ... and the fact Dragonairs evolve at level 55... but what am I saying? Lance uses a Gameshark! His Dragonite from RB had Barrier and his Aerodactyl in GSC had Rock Slide)... and the highest leveled Wild Pokemon you find barring legendaries is a level 51 Golbat in Mt. Silver... and Golbat in itself isn't too impressive.
I play D/P's metagame... and unfortunately it is TOO offensive with the new Choice items and everything. I don't think the metagame will ever stabilize in any generation... especially with the over-centralization of Garchomp (the new 600 BST dragon of this generation)... who according to many outraged fans was banned to ubers.

I used to play Pokemon every chance I got but now I don't really play it anymore except for Mystery Dungeon but only occasionally. I never really watched the Pokemon shows though. I didn't play the card game either because it was too hard to understand.

i watched it alot but those were the old episodes, and i mean the OLD old episodes, then i watched less and less as it got newer, then it got gay towards diamond and pearl and emerald and sapphire

I did watch the show back when it first started, sadly I still remember parts of the "pokerap" man I feel real silly now.

Oh my god, pokemon brings back so many memories. My brother and I were pokemon's #1 fan. But now the show sucks, bad.
I won't remove this until I get a killtacular in Halo MLG- Started December 29, 2010.

I used to love it. Used to watch every episode, used to collect heaps of figurine things, had hundreds of cards, every game. Just grew out of it, I guess.

Early was really good. I LOVED IT. Hoenn was bad, and, oh my god Dawn is just... wow. Plus, every time I see Dawn it looks like... "Dang". And think about it, Ash is now 21 in Japan. And yet, he's WAY dumber than when he was 10, 11, and 12. Plus the new pokemon suck. I mean, PurrUGLY. Really want that one. And then Team Rocket...... wow... Oh, and Meowth actually used to be one of my favorite characters. Now, he's almost as "wow..." as Dawn and Ash.

Has anyone besides me noticed how stupid and senseless the show is?! I mean Ash gets owned by ordinary trainers and then owns the Elite 4. Come on!

I watched it all the time when I was younger. Especially the first season.
Now all of the new voices are bad.
