My activity tends to drop off once classes start up. Not really because of schoolwork alone, but my third job kicks in, so my activity is probably not going to get much better

But yeah. No one said anything about being perfect. Whoever becomes the next mod is going to have everyone backing them up. I like this place too, so of course I'm going to support it!

You know, as long as nothing really happens, there's no need for moderation anyway. That being said, people are always capable of being immature and saying things that they'd regret later. If you ask me, I trust you guys enough to not be stupid enough to require moderation in the first place. I say this as a veteran member, not as any form of a higher authority, as well I am not one. I'm also kind of shocked that such a topic would even need to be necessary. Although well, I haven't been on lately so many some things did go down and everyone's just becoming overcautious because of recent events.

If you have a problem with someone, either sort it out via PMs or just learn to deal with that person. There's no need to cause a scene about it.

To be honest, if weren't for the fact that Blazer said he'd shut this place down if it gets too hectic, I honestly wouldn't feel the need to make this topic either. But seeing as though the place will get shut down if it gets out of hand, I figured an extra mod wouldn't hurt.

Because well...Even though it might be unintentional, we DO argue a lot. Things happen...a lot. And if a mod DOESN'T come in, things rarely calm down.

While some people do use PMs when they want to argue, most of us never don't always do that. So I think that either (a The mods should be more active. or (b we need another mod.

And to be honest, I hope nothing happens, but heck. Stuff has happened in the past week.

I just really don't want to see this place shut down. Blazer said he'd do it. If it weren't for that one thing, I probably wouldn't have made this topic.

Honestly, I'm going to agree with those who say we do not need a mod. We need to make ourselves more rule-compliant and less argumentative. If we all tried to avoid making and continuing drama, we'd be better off.

If everyone on here is mature enough I say we don't need a mod. If tons of people are immature, then I would say Arim. Why?

Because I honestly agree with tons of others. He's perfectly suited for the job. Screw the amount of time he's been here, I never look at that anyway.

That's that, if we're fine, we don't need a mod. If we aren't, we'll need a mod. Done deal.

(Now if you'll excuse me I MUST spend all day playing TLP.)

I don't think we need a new mod, I think we'll do fine on our own, we're more-or-less all mature adults, and should we act accordingly, we'll be OK. :/

Let me say one thing for starters, this place IMHO doesn't need another mod.

It needs unity.

You guys should get together and organize it while blazer is sorting out his priorities and life alike. Formal moderation power isn't needed for that task, no need to promote someone in hierarchy to keep things together, if anything it risks break them apart further if it is the wrong pick, and based on what I have seen lately in a quick browse in the forum, there are many people involved in animosity-full situations around for me to say that a promotion is the best path to any place right now. There are plenty of great people here, but due to the current political paradigm and nothing else, plenty of wrong picks as well.

As it is now I personally see not need for another figure of formal power. The current moderation staff without blazer should be more than able to defend the site from any external threats, and the internal ones will not happen if everyone stays united and keep the place together. If everyone stops worrying about smaller matters and do what is needed to keep the place calm and afloat.

However, I will say this, I do believe that the people that do excel in this period of transition for Blazer's life will definitely be very well considered in the next time there is a new promotion for moderation staff.

And also, that talking like this is fun.

Hey kids, Shu here posting for the first time in quite a while.

I'll do my best to keep fairly active given the recent outbreak of unruly activity and Blazer's absence.

FES will not die if you silly fools simply follow the rules and keep posting, feel me? That's that.

In addition, there shouldn't BE need for a new moderator if I manage to keep active and at least one other person on the staff manages to do the same (You guys may or may not know that I'm a global moderator). In the end, the choice on whether or not there's a new mod will fall under the jurisdiction of the staff, not this thread. That said, the input is appreciated.

And I really thank you guys for starting up this thread to keep us running because I've spent a lot of time here, and I really love this place. It's things like this that keep forums alive, in my mind. Unity is needed, and we for sure have the foundation for that.
