@Shu Dang man, that's my favorite reply to this thread thus far. I don't know about this whole "great author" deal, but thank you for the kind words, and I sincerely thank you for the compliment.

In other news, the company asked for some short (like, 3 paragraphs) synopses of my four books (remember this one is the first of a four part series) and they're pretty much in love with the idea. Not bad, considering telling my entire four book series in 12 paragraphs is HARD AS HELL and can't be that descriptive...right?
I've also written the back cover so I can include that as well, but I've gotta run to work so I'll try to do it later (if I remember).
Ah, and the title. I guess it does me little good to keep that a secret anymore. The reason I did it was because I could change it literally 24 hours before the final publication step, but eh, I think I'm okay with the title.
The series title: The Dream War
Book One: The Royal Seal. It's split into two parts; Part one: Of Legends and Holy Knights, and Part Two: Under Martial Law.
The titles for each book and parts are about 95% done too, actually, but those names aren't really important atm.
Other than that I just have to wait on them to get my materials back to me. I can start working on book two/three (the latter being almost done) if I want...but I'm a bit burnt out from writing

Also, did I read your post wrong, or are you farther into book 3 than 2?
What publishing company are you using?

Good to know those names are, well, good. Out of the four, I actually think book 1 has the worst name, but that's just me. So thanks for that.
And yes I'm further along in book 3 than book 2. Book 3 has 74,000 words written and will probably reach about 100k. Book 2 I haven't started.
The way the plot of my books unfolds makes it easy to separate. I already know the general scoop (in my head) of what happens in book 2 anyway, so I can theoretically finish 99% of book 3 before even starting 2.
Plus, imo, book 3 is the best one (though book 4 comes in at a close second) so I wanted to write it, heh. Though that is relative; books 3 and 4 are more war based, while 1 and 2 have more adventure and world history/backstory. But I like epic wars, so...yeah.
The back cover is in the spoiler below. I was only allowed about 150-200 words, so it's pretty vague.
And I'm feeling nice, so....

Any words on price, etc.? I'll probably buy a copy through you if I can, but otherwise going through amazon or something.

Though I'll guess paperbacks would be somewhere between $10-15 and hardcover over $20. E-books I have no damn clue. I could be wrong, though.
And about the romance....you'll see

Of course if you buy it through me I'll do a special mention. "Super Lurk" sounds like a good one to me.

Certainly more fantasy than mine.
I don't think I could skip the order I write these in. The fact that I have a prequel planned is already problematic enough, given that Smyx literally is just happening as I write. I have no idea who he is and he wasn't even supposed to happen. He was just there all of a sudden. Skipping a whole book? Yikes.

Preludes are always tough. I'm going through a similar thing now; I'll have to update book 3 [HEAVILY] because I've done some different things in book 1 than originally anticipated.
I've had a couple characters just "happen" as I write as well, and so far, they've all contributed majorly to the overall story (not in this one though; book 3 mainly).
Which is why a synopsis is hard....picking only key events? Almost every event/subplot is linked to the main story in some way!
And god damn it guys, you're making me want to write again. I told myself I'd take a nice, long break, too >.>

What I DO know about my one current accidental character makes him super important.
Yeah. I guess it'd be easiest to either write a REALLY short one or a long one. Seems difficult.
WRITE. DOOOO IIIITTT. Better yet, send me those creative juices. I want to write, but I'm not feeling super inspired right now...

Unfortunately, book 2 has some of the most important subplot events and characters in the series, so it cannot be skipped.
Believe me...I've thought long and hard about how I could go about terminating book 2 altogether, but alas, I cannot. It wouldn't make sense to throw it at the end of book 1, and book 3 is too long as it is.
Sucky part is book 2 is the most original and colorful aspect of the series. My worry is that it won't last long enough to hit that magical "50,000 words oh-hey-it's-a-novel-not-a-novella-or-anything-below stage. But I guess I should take my own advice and not worry about that for now, huh?
But maybe I'll get at least the first chapter started tonight.
As for creative juices, I'll telepathically send my hyperactive imaginative thoughts your way. And damn, I've derailed my own topic.

Alternatively: write the books in the correct order.

In the meantime I'm working on getting another excerpt up. And by working, I mean finding a decent one that's spoiler-free.
I'm also starting work on the second book, which will likely not be finished until my winter break (end of December to end of January) and of which there will be no excerpts until the publishing process begins...again.
The four books work similarly to LOTR; each book is just a continuation of the same adventure. So if I put up excerpts from any other books, you all will be spoiled on what happens in book one. Which is bad.
Also, about a week or so until I get my copy edited manuscript back. I hope they don't tear it up too badly :x
Anyway, yeah. That's what's going on as of now.

Also, I must be dumb-- what's WTS? I only know it as "what the shit" but I don't think you mean it that way >.>
