Sorry for the double post but I just finished my entry.


The only custome thing is the headband and I think the sprite has 16 or 17 colours.

@Shu no worries, hopefully the next ones are just a little better. TBH Zeiss and Eliwood are common splice choices... or maybe it's just me...

Personally, I find the "you dont have to use all three sprites" dumb. That takes away from the competition, adding that rule takes away the challenge. So what if you have a good mug with two characters only, chances are that there is too much of one character in the splice then another. I suggest you lift that rule because anyone could just replace Ziess' eyes with Eli's and enter it without breaking any rules.

As for entry... I still dont know. =/ Eliwood and Ziess are pretty much the same person and Kyle has a poopy angle. Well ****

I think we should use the rules from SF for the next spriting contest.

They won't win if it's poor quality. It's not very likely someone can make an awesome sprite splicing 2 of the options together but I'm being open to possibilities.

^That, I'm in agreement with Shu here. If someone's a good enough spriter that may be able to make a good portrait while only using two. That level of creativity in splicing the different parts from only 2 options is up to them. Is there chance of winning as good? No, generally not. But it's a choice the person makes.

Then... why include 3?
If this is the case, why have a comp at all? I mean you don't have to use everything anyway, hell the next rule will be you can use 2 people and anyone else you want, then one person required and the other 2 could be anyone. You get the point, my mini rant is done.

It's really not about winning, its more about manipulating the set to create a better mug. If you're concerned that using all three mugs would be considered stealing rules, take a look at other forums, they use the same rules too.

Point is, its unfair, why should one person go through the trouble of using all three mugs when they can use two? =/

I look at it from an artist standpoint. If someone told me I had to use a certain effect in a signature of mine, but it would look fine without it, then I'd say **** YOU DON'T HANDCUFF ME.

And again, what does it matter if they don't win? I don't think a submission using two mugs will contend very well, but let them do what they want.

Obviously the best mugs are going to be used with all three options, but I'm not going to force the rule on anyone.

Honestly I think you should all stop complaining about the rules that Shu put in place.

If you don't like the rules just keep your mouth shut and take the highway by making your own spriting contest with your own rules.
