There isn't a reason to assign someone to post a birthday topic. If you assign someone to make it, then it may come off as forced and detract from the person's topic. First person to post the topic does. Then we spam the topic with happy birthday comments. (Not other types of spam)

For the inactive members as well? You people just want a reason to spam don't you? Not that you need one Honestly, if they haven't logged on in 6 months chances they'll be back are slim (unless of course they were extremely active, but even then it's unlikely)

Agreed, I do think it is a bit pointless to post topics for inactive members.
