Burning Shrine – Chapter 2 – YESZ!



“I’m going to make this quick, and to the point…” Announced Blazer when he sat down. “There’s an organization trying to take over multiple communities around this area, and running them with dictatorships. It’s known as S.P.A.M.”

“SPAM?” quipped Seraphinox.

“Sect of Powerful Anti Members. Please don’t question the plot.” Blazer said.

“Only of you stop breaking the fourth wall.”

“Deal. Moving on…SPAM kidnapped Soren last night, we believe. However, they she was rescued promptly by another communities staff members, the community being called Maps.”

“What do they do?” Felover asked.

“They make…maps…or something. I don’t know. Their head admin called me this morning, woke me up…he told me he had found a girl who said her name was Soren and came from here. That’s when I had first found out she got kidnapped. Maps will be dropping her off on Raven beach in a little while.”

“Man, we need to tighten security if we didn’t even notice her being taken.” Seraphinox said.

“Exactly.” Blazer said as he turned his head to Tino, who was sitting next to him. Tino nodded and said “We will be needing to look out for more of the weaker parts of the island.” He looked at Shu. “You and Felover will be patrolling the South and North beaches respectively. Seraphinox will take the East.”

“Fair enough. How long of this patrolling take up of our day?” Shu asked.

“Almost all of it. You will have no time to perform your active duties, so you can’t be making art very often or patrolling your usual areas.” Tino looked to Felover. “Neither can you. No Patrolling your usual assignment and…whatever the hell else you do…”


“Hmph. What about Seraphinox?” Felover said, looking at Tino.

Blazer spoke up. “Seraphinox will not have as long a shift. As you may know, the East coast has bad weather often, so we do not suspect an attack there. He will still have time for his regular duties.”

“Sweet.” Seraphinox said with a grin.

“But what about our jobs? Who’s going to do them?” asked Shu.

“I’ve got some replacements from some other communities. They will be doing your jobs….” Blazer then smirked. “However, you two may consider them gifts…”

Shu and Felover looked at each other.

“And you better be grateful. I pulled a lot of strings to get them here. Go to your cabins…see who’s there.” He smirked again. “You have a few minutes, then go to Raven beach to wait for Soren. You two are dismissed.”

Felover and Shu got up and headed out the door. They walked together for a few steps, before stopping and looking at each other.
“I like gifts.” Shu said, putting his hands in his pockets.

“Me too.” Felover agreed.

They stared at each other for a little while before grinning widely and turning on heel and sprinting towards their respective cabins.

Shu ran and ran through Cuan’s forest, jumping over logs and tripping over squirrels, before finally making it to his cabin. He opened the front door, which led into his Kitchen/Dining room. He glanced around a bit. No one was there. He mumbled a bit while moving through the room a bit more, running his hand through his light brown, curled hair. He then heard the TV through the door. He opened it silently and looked around. Sitting on the couch watching on the medium-sized flat screen was a woman with short brown hair.

Shu’s eyes widened. He immediately recognized her.

“YUNA!!” Shu yelled as he jumped towards the target of his fanboyism. The woman shot a look towards him, watching Shu bump his knee on the arm of the couch and face planting on the floor in front of her.

“Uh…” Yuna said as she looked down at the unmoving person at her feet.

Shu stood upright, and looked down at Yuna.

“You must be Shu ” She said, smiling.

“Uh yeah, but how…” Shu stuttered. “Are you my step-in..helper…person?”

“Uh-huh.” She said, standing up.

“Oh really?” He said, cocking his head to the side.

“Yeah, really.” Yuna replied with a slight smile.

“No way…” He said, not taking his eyes off her face.

“ I’ll try and do my best to make the art for FES. I’ll also be staying here.” She added.

“…”

“I’ll be staying in the guest room, you know.”

“I didn’t know I had one.”

She laughed slightly before saying “Don’t you have something you have to do?”

Shu stared off blankly at the floor. His face lit up. “Oh yeah!” he said, and he ran out of the room. “Bye Yuna! See you later!”

He ran back through Cuan’s forest with a big grin. He would have to thank Blazer at least a thousand times. He heard Felover yell “SHEEDA!” coming from his cabin. He assumed a similar event happened there.

‘Oh yeah, I was supposed to go to Raven Beach’ he thought as he reached Hector square. He jogged past the Hector statue, and down past some of the cabins before finally spotting Felover by the beach, grabbing at something in the water.

Shu silently moved closer and pushed him in the water. “YUUUUUUUNA!” Shu yelled.
“SHEEEEDA!” Felover yelled as he turned around and slapped him with a fish.

“You bastard!” Shu yelled, rubbing his cheek.

Shu picked up a stick and pushed Felover over with it. Felover rolled in the sand a bit before chucking the fish at Shu’s face, causing him to drop the stick. Shu stumbled back, and Felover took this chance to get himself upright and then punched him in the gut. Shu grunted, but managed to counter with an uppercut to his chin. Though he stumbled backward, Felover came back and landed a left hook to Shu’s face, Yelling “SHEEDA!”

Shu punched Felover back, yelling “YUNA!”

“SHEEDA!” Another punch.

“YUNA!” And another.

“SHEEDA!” Another one.

“YUNA!” And another.

Felover started to kick sand at Shu, and Shu kicked sand back. After getting a particularly large amount of sand in his mouth and eyes, Shu pulled out his Glock from it’s holster, and started firing at Felover’s feet.

“DANCE! DAAAAAAAAAAANCE!!!” He yelled as he pulled the trigger multiple times.

Felover leaped forward, and landed a kick to Shu’s face. Shu got up right away and was about to pistol-whip him when he heard a loud whirring noise…



Okay, to make things more believable, if you’re 10-16 years old IRL, you’re 17 in this story.

The next map may come with the next chapter.

Yuna and Sheeda came from Square Enix and Nintendo Island. They never did the things they did in their respective games in this story, but the games still exist.

Hope it ain’t that confusing. Hope you enjoyed the chapter.

Yeah, the next one will be even MORE subtle. It will be pretty hard to guess, I think. I still don't know where I'd fit it in, though...not yet, at least.
