((I threw the knife at the guys that "popped up" out of the trees.))

"Listen, why are you trying to do this?" Zorn asked as he jumped out of the way of a kick. "Why- ugh- are you trying to do this?"

"Mankut...I'm sorry about your father's death. There was nothing I could do...It was at least ninety against me, your father, and Aeon. Your father was a great man, who died for a noble cause..." Ash spoke softly. As soon as the soldiers arrived, he sobered up. He unsheathed his spear and jumped into the fray, becoming a whirlwind of destructive energy.

"You seem like a soldier. I don't know what side you're supporting. I'm not trying to kill yo-," Mankut stopped as an arrow sprouted from his arm. "Urgh, they got me." Mankut pulled out the arrow and retreated long enough to apply a vulcenary. He then ingnored Zorn, and charged one of the soldiers, bringing his sword on his neck, where there was no armor. The knight fell without a sound. Mankut wheeled around, and saw Ash. He was fighting like a demon. "I wouldn't want to get on his bad side", Mankut thought.

Ash slashed with the spear he had been holding, sending a soldier tumbling to the ground, dead before he hit it. "Grr...they have too many...reinforcements are coming...we need to retreat," Ash said, as an arrow caught him in the shoulder.

[Mankut]

"We can't retreat", Mankut yelled at Ash. "The ocean is behind us and the soldiers are blocking off the forest. We're going to have to fight our way out of this...or swim in that icy cold river with all our weapons and armor."

Zareal sat in a stupor as soldiers ran towards them. He saw the two men who had been fighting a moment before helping each other, He couldn't let them defend him,

He was a pirate, He took his axe off his belt and ran forwards...

"Damn..." Ash said, as he pulled the arrow out of his arm. The tip dripped crimson, and the same oozed from the gaping hole in his shoulder. "Yeah...alright, here's the plan. We cut them off from the side, just ignore the thief for now. Go...now!" Ash yelled, as he attacked the oncoming soldiers.

Zareal heard the orders from the one called Ash. It seemed like a good plan so he followed his lead and smashed a soldiers face in with his axe.

"Good one," Ash said, ducking a spear jab. He slashed with one of his own, and the soldier fell back, a gaping hole in his chest.

[Mankut]

Mankut slashed at an archer, breaking his bow and killing him. Running ahead, Mankut hid in the trees. He yelled, " Run! There's a path through the soldiers. Avoid the two archers at the edges of the trees and you'll be okay. Try to grab some of their armor, we can use it as a disguise if we have to."

Zorn saw the battle turning against the soldiers, but he didn't know what nation they were from."Hmm... They're hum- um... Beorc, so that leaves out those... Other countries. Huh. I'll check." Zorn strolled out into a portion of the battlefield that was relatively isolated, slitting a soldier's throat on the way. "Hmm... No identifying marks... But they don't need this equipment now, do they?" With a slight smirk, Zorn took all the equipment he could carry (and then some) over behind a outcrop of rocks and started to fashion a wagon from the driftwood that had been flung up onto the shore. Zorn remembered what Cormag had taught him, that "If the wood had imperfections, throw it out" was the way to go."Sometimes I don't know why I left..." thought Zorn, but then the memories came back to him.

[Mankut]

Perched in a tree, Mankut waited. He saw Zorn trying to make a wagon. He also had some soldier's armor. "So he's not a soldier. But I don't recognize him. He's not a rebel either." Mankut jumped off the tree and ran in front of Zorn. He kicked the armor and it skidded a few feet away. "Who are you", Mankut asked Zorn, his sword unsheathed.

"Hm?" Zorn asked, glancing up towards the swordsman. "I'm Zorn. I'd advise you to put that sword away. You could get hurt." Turning his gaze bact to the wagon, Zorn attempted to twist in a tent stake from his backpack, to act as a screw.

[Mankut]

"Which side are you, and why are you on that side? " Mankut asked.

[Rennac]

"Well, I killed some of those soldiers, but I don't know anything about here, my guidebook was sort of old, I stole it from some antique shop." Zorn held up an ancient looking book. "But this looks nothing like what I thought. Oh well. I'll make the best of it.

[Mankut]

"Hmm", Mankut said thoughtfully. "Maybe you can come with us. But I'll have to ask Ash."

Following Mankut's lead Zareal ran through the soldiers like twigs.
He finally reached him and saw that he was talking to someone...

"Why should I come with you?" Zorn asked. "For all I know, you'll lose. Against... "Zorn waved his hand at the dead soldiers. "... These guys." Zorn prodded one with his foot, then looked up as he heard footsteps. There was another figure coming along.

[Mankut]

"You obviously don't know what Zion is. Maybe if you knew what kind of destruction and deaths they caused, you would join us." Mankut said. "But no, you just want to steal the armor of some soldiers for profit." Mankut turned away and ran towards the battle, where more soldiers kept emerging. Mankut slashed at another archer then yelled, "They have reinforcements! They knew we were here! We have to go...NOW!"
