So, uh...

-Currently watching Yugioh on and off. I'm on the first season, episode 23. I forgot how inaccurate the original anime was to the actual game, and it's kind of beautiful.
-Rewatching Cowboy Bebop with a friend. We just finished episode 13, though we're going slowly due to only meeting about once a week or so. He's completely hooked, so I consider my mission fulfilled.
-Recently finished Attack on Titan. I was going through the Ilse's Notebook episodes, but I haven't in a while. I plan on finishing them soonish, though.
-Up next for me is probably No Game No Life, Kill La Kill, or maybe This Ugly Yet Beautiful World, if I ever get around to finding out what it's about and how it's rated. I also plan to watch every season of Yugioh (original-Zexal) in preparation for Arc V, but that's more of a long-term goal, so I'm not as worried about getting that done ASAP.

since it's the start of the season I'm randomly trying shows

WARNING: General thoughts on shows below, as always if you don't want any knowledge of what it's like or opinions on it, skip, though there is nothing particularly plot-spoilery mentioned except at the bottom

Tokyo ESP: Very interesting and reminds me of my own head-novel (as in, I wanted to turn it into something but haven't actually gotten to doing so, but I have enough ideas in my head to write more than a few dozen pages, I think >_>)

However I am worried about the depth of fights and the depth of the plot, right now it seems a bit... blunt and shallow

not bad by any means but the whole "people with supernatural powers are humans too" thing has been done before and all

Tokyo Ghoul: oh man another "Tokyo" show, what is with this... actually I watched this one before the above one, while the first episode was only "solid" and was rather predictable, the second episode was pretty interesting and I'm curious to see where this heads out. Execution/style/animation are all pretty solid. As a warning, it's VERY bloody, gorey, and dark, but not super disgusting like I heard (well, it's disgusting but not enough for me to be turned away or anything; as long as it's all in moderation and the show isn't carried on by gore as a selling point or w/e, I'll tolerate it).

Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun: Hilarious and the only light-hearted show I'm watching, if you ask me: everything else is dark and has lots of death or blood ._.

Rail Wars!: Oh wait I lied, this show is just bad so I forgot it exists lol, it definitely has some potential with the train/rails thing but I don't think it'll ever impress me

Zankyou no Terror: this show definitely impressed me with the... interesting characters and general setting and such, I can see potential in this one and am not sure what to expect/how it will develop. I'm interested though for sure, the execution was also pretty unique.

Akame ga Kill: Main character reminded me of like, a generic RPG hero or something at first... anyhow things escalate and while it's a bit predictable (or maybe I'm just too insightful...) it gets pretty bloody and dark pretty quick, IMO: but it tries to cover some of it with humor and such, so it's kinda weird. I'm not entirely sure what this is supposed to be, on one end it is horrendous and depressing as hell even though I've only watched one episode, and on the other hand it's humorous... gosh though those bitches, and I will admit that:

x (Click Here To Hide/Show Text)
I did not think when that chick who takes the MC in was all like "just intuition but I think you'll see them soon", that THAT'S what she meant, even though I definitely thought it was all really suspicious--where were the other people, who in their right minds would be this nice, he had JUST been tricked, etc., you knew something had to happen but it didn't click that his close friends would suffer that fate... and man did it really suck that they did, though I guess the cover art for it or the opening or something kinda hinted towards it--you never really saw those characters so it's like "wait, what happens to them?"... even though I shouldn't be hurt, given how little development they got, I can easily imagine the kind of bonds the three had so it sucks anyway--would never wish a fate on anyone like that except maybe Blackbeard and Akainu from One Piece, and it's just awful that the story could have been totally different if not for those bitches torturing them like that... human life is so fragile >_>

it's about some chick who gets ESP powers along with lots of other people called ESPers with super natural powers, and some organization that is trying to take over Tokyo or something... it is pretty srs business, not all that dark but still expect some fighting, blood, and buttholes to be present

UGH OMG A-1 PICTURES Y U DO DIS TO ME

I PREPARED MYSELF SO HARD FOR KIRITO'S WONDERFUL LUSTROUS AWE INSPIRING SIMULTANEOUSLY SOOTHING YET THRILLING STYLISH MAKES-MY-HEART-FLUTTER-EVERY-TIME-ITS-PERFECT-LOCKS-DO-THE-SAME LONG HAIR IN ALL ITS CELESTIAL, MAGNIFICENT, FLAWLESS-IF-ONLY-IT-WEREN'T-ACTUALLY-DARK-BROWN SPLENDOR AS IT DRAMATICALLY MAXIMIZED KIRITO'S DREAMY GALLANTRY AND HIS ADORABLE CHARM

BUT NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

I'M LEFT HANGING UNTIL NEXT EPISODE

AGAIN

but anyway about the actual episode.

I feel that they could have done a lot better with the imagery to get across sinon's problem

like seriously it's like they hardly cared about it and just wanted to get it over with until at least the bank scene

and that was like the least realistic puke i've ever heard

hopefully you'll have your moment next episode

but relax until then ._. I mean I need more SAO too but XD and for different reasons

I enjoyed the episode but I pretty much always enjoy SAO at this point. It didn't really awe me any more or less than normal but due to my bias it was still super enjoyable tongue.gif

Watched SAO I and Kill La Kill. SAO was really good.
Kill La Kill is probably in my top five animes. Absolutely fantastic.

Also watching Nichijou on the side now.

I watched Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun and marathon'd the entire manga after wanting more.

It's awesome. Mikorin is best girl, it singlehandedly wins the best crush on a jerk award, and the male lead might as well be gay.

Nichijou is okay/humorous and light-hearted but I lost motivation to watch due to lack of plot and such XD

haha well actually I'm okay with that, I'm kind of the same tongue.gif that's why even though I'm certainly capable of acting more like a "normal" human being and not ranting, not having silly opinions, not making silly jokes and overreacting to stuff, online I pretty much just do what I want because screw the rules/implied social rules lol

I will just keep watching Nozaki-kun, unlses there's some kind of cliffhanger that draws me in I'm good haha, maybe after the season is done airing I can read it if there's more beyond what airs (and I think the manga is ongoing so eh)

Been marathoning HunterxHunter and I love it (2011 version). The show is great, and I have to say I love the first ending.

I definitely recommend you at least try like 2 episodes.

And hey, at least it's not as daunting as One Piece

@Tenebrae mostly your reaction but less emphatic/less of an emphasis on the "amazingness" or whatever of Kirito's feminine avatar tongue.gif

I can't get enough either though haha

I feel bad for Sinon though, love the suspense of waiting to see how Shinon will react when she (presumably inevitably) finds out that Kirito is actually a guy and that he kind of used her (albeit not with terrible intentions, but still...). I also am a fan of the element where a powerful/well-established character comes into a new setting and is assumed to be weak etc. and then surprises people with their skills... even though it's a pretty different game he still has some of the best reflexes (just like in SAO--not like he can tell people that though, it'd probably garner a huge reaction due to how SAO kinda started everything) and even when he wields a lightsaber he still has that unique sword style of his that I actually like quite a bit.

The second arc of SAO had something similar (he brought his virtual swordplay style into real life, ended up wielding two swords, etc.) which was also cool... and it's nice to know that Kirito really isn't good at using guns and he'll have to work on that for a while, haha. And lightsabers energy swords or beam sabers or whatever they're called (I watched the episode once and then most of it if not all of it another time and still can't remember all their names) aren't nearly as convenient as guns in this case so even if he's OP with a sword, it surely won't be as simple as before (where ALL battles are close-range and therefore using close-range weapons isn't really a disadvantage...).

At the same time it's nice to know he can hold his own, weak characters who are always fighting uphill battles and trying to make "epic" speeches/epic comebacks can be pretty annoying, I like a character who has some confidence and can stand on their own two feet, haha. Reminds me of Luffy who despite being very strong can still find himself having a tough time against certain opponents, but can still be totally overwhelmed or totally overwhelming under certain circumstances.

I liked it the least out of the key three (CLANNAD, Air, and Kanon at the time) but it's not really any lesser than Kanon when it comes to feel trips.

QUOTE

Unless they change it (there were a few more...SPECIFIC behaviors shown by Kirito in the anime, IIRC in the LN he just lets his appearance do it all instead of adopting any hilarious ways of trying to act like a girl) that part is pretty anticlimatic, and happens soon.
