So today was pretty cool. First I woke up at  1 pm, which I haven't done in a long time, felt awesome to actually sleep for a change. Then I woke up , had some brownie ice cream for breakfast, read a bit of midnight tides, played some Bloodborne. Then I had a really good lunch (Fish if you're wondering), and made some cookies. I tried to teach my dad how to play Bloodborne, had a hilarious 2 hours. He actually got to the point where he could kill enemies, hopefully we'll have more progress next week. Then I went to the house of a friend I haven't see in a while, played some project M and got a bit drunk (if there are any spelling errors I apologize I'm still a bit tipsy). All in all a pretty awesome day.

ha, I woke up before 6AM, which is maybe like 5-7 hours earlier than usual, lol (I don't exactly wake up at a consistent time every day but on average, not including outlier todays, I probably wake up around 11am to 12pm),

kinda the opposite of you waking up later than usual at 1pm, lol

brownie ice cream for breakfast? O_o tbh I don't like ice cream for breakfast...  or early on... or if my stomach doesn't already have stuff in it. I made the mistake of eating ice cream on an empty stomach and it just doesn't feel good.

lol playing Bloodborne with your dad, okay then XP. aaaaand I think Ghast is a bad influence on you, feels like you talk about how you got drunk almost every time you talk about what you did "last night" *shot*

I didn't understand the above post so uhhh I'm just going to move on now

...

so I'll just talk about my weekend instead of my day (I didn't do much today except like wake up and shower and eat breakfast and stuff so yeah)

this weekend I made a point to relax and play video games and outside of some other basic things and responsibilities that's pretty much all I did

I got to play some indie games on my Wii U like SteamWorld Dig, Swords & Soldiers, and Armillo, and I got to play Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, and Etrian Odyssey. I think I played a bit of FF Type-0 and BlazBlue at some point too (more so Friday I think). So anyhow I didn't get to game QUITE as much as I'd like because life is still a thing, but overall I feel refreshed enough that I can now tackle doing work for the next few days as I have exams on Wednesday and there's other stuff I need to take care of too XP

my day was fairly boring til about 3 hours ago when i was doing wonder trades in ORAS. needed to get rid of some magicarps, and suddenly an arceus shows up. and i'm sitting there thinking ok this has to be hacked. i'ma just soft reset real quick. but then for whatever reason i decided to check if there was a way to see if a pokemon was hacked in. turns out it was a legit arceus. on one hand i'm happy to have something that would otherwise be impossible for me to get, but i have no idea why it happened. either it's a clone and some guy is just handing them out, or it was an accident and i got super lucky either way.

Throat: Sore from shouting

Head: Spinning from noise

Stomach: Probably not too happy I had ~1.5 L (48 fluid ounces) of pop to drink and a full bag popcorn on top of it.

Mental state: Deliriously happy

Reason: Got to attend a Flames playoff game.  ~$260 a shot (and I got two) but all worth it.  Everything about it made it the best game I've ever gone to.  First playoff game, insane atmosphere, great game.  Game goes 3-2 Ducks into the 3rd period and at the 7 minute left mark (out of 60), the Flames have something that looks like a goal.  It's a situation very similar to something that happened 11 years ago: if allowed, the goal would have won the Flames the championship.  But it was disallowed (on a very controversial disallowed goal) and the Flames would eventually lose in the final game.  Flash forward to today and the replay shows something very similar:

Spoiler

So the entire crowd is screaming out, as a chant during video review, "It was in".  They don't count this one.  Entire crowd of 20 000 strong begin booing.  Then comes a "The refs suck" chant.

2 minutes to go and it's still 3-2.  Flames pull their goalie for another skater (a strange rule in hockey is that you can opt to have 5 skaters and a goalie or 6 skaters).  Crowd refuses to sit down.  Everyone's standing.  Lose tonight and it's pretty much lights out for this run (go down 3-0 in a best of 7 series).  19 seconds to go.  Shot on net.  Goal.  Crowd explodes.  I just about lose my own voice during the ensuing chaos (and even have to go buy and down another pop to even speak with any level of volume).

Of course, the rules for ice hockey is that a tie playoff game goes to sudden death overtime.  So the crowd is pumped and rightfully so.  The Flames stop a couple good chances against them and rush up ice.  They control the puck and draw a penalty.  Now, penalties don't actually start until the other team touches and controls the puck so until then the team which isn't penalized can pull their goaltender and ice 6 players safely (since the other team can't take a shot or else it'd be called touching the puck).  So they pull the Flames goaltender again for another skater.  He comes in, dances around the ice a bit, then gets the puck and shoots.  Sails right by the goaltender.  Crowd descends into madness.

I have a 20-30 minute walk to a transit station.  It's entirely filled with shouting, chanting, hugs, and high-fives...a surreal experience.  It isn't until I get onto light rail transit that I can even hear myself think.

Hopefully this uploads nice (It gives me 3 hours of waiting and I'm not going to babysit my computer until it's done).  This was the pre-game.  Note that this is a phone and it is very terrible at sound and video quality...I had thought of bringing an actual camera for this but it was a little too large to carry around.  Note that I'm actually shouting at the end of the video...and I don't think I can hear my own voice in it.

And a short little clip set of what I tried to describe above.  Note that there is a song after each goal.  The typical one (used for the first goal I post) is a rock song of decent volume (Righteous Smoke by Monster Truck)...and it's almost entirely drowned out by the crowd.

Edit - I've since been corrected by another fan that it actually was Johnny B. Goode playing (the goal scorer being a well recognized player for Calgary, Johnny Gaudreau).

Also, turns out you are limited to two YouTube links.  Just copy-paste the other ones if you're so interested.

made a couple pizzas today because i had extra barbecue chicken. it was pretty damn good too considering i don't make too many pizzas. turns out though the dough is really tacky when you're making it. i ended up with about half a pound of it on my hands after the kneading. finished chaos head. i was thoroughly enjoying it right up until the ending. i don't know why but that ending really bugged me. it wasn't all that bad i guess, but nothing was explained, the MC was killed, and he didn't ever grow out of his awful character traits. wanted to make cheeseburger mac for dinner, but for whatever reason we didn't have noodles. threw some kidney beans and tomatoes into the cheese sauce and called it cheesy chili. not bad for something just sorta slapped together at the last second.

So yesterday (I always post these the day after) I went to an anatomy test at the coroner's office, then got some cake at starbucks that was delicious, then came home and recovered some of the hours of sleep I lost last week. Then I woke up, had dinner, finished "The Bonehunters" and went to sleep again. I did absolutely nothing important and it was amazing.

@Kirant haha I liked the way you introduced your post. out of all that I'd have to say the most important thing is that it was worth it to you, haha. regret/doing things that aren't worth it stinks =P

you lazy bum *shot* jk how'd the test go? that sounds a bit important, haha. seems like a pretty typical Snow day otherwise. haha Snow day, get it *shot even though it wasn't initially intended to be a pun*

-------------------

Yesterday I mostly spent gaming and some other small things. I played a lot of Child of Light--heck, played it most of the day--and finally beat it at night. Also played a bit of FF Type-0 at some point, can't really remember when too well. (Been playing bits of FF Type-0 HD for PS4 here and there). Today I spent what time I was awake (woke up around 6AM) either eating or playing Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures 2 for Wii U, lol. Was trying to make some serious progress towards beating the game (I did). I ended up getting tired though (I'm a normal person so I get tired if I only get 4-5 hours of sleep lol) and fell asleep. Woke up to some nice news and then ate the 2nd half of a Subway sandwich I got in the morning, then started catching up on internet stuffz... which is pretty much what I'm doing now.

Oh yeah, I also spent a fair time on the latest Fire Emblem If news--managing that Twitter is actually quite a bit of work, haha. Just like this forum... XP

got gifted windward on steam today. had to go look up what windward was. a tree fell over in my front yard so i had to clean that up. turns out cedar is a pretty light wood as long as the leaves aren't too wet. unfortunately it's been raining(which is why the tree fell in the first place) so it was a real pain.

running on roughly five hours of sleep in the last 40 hours or so. i can't quite remember tbh. i should probably go sleep some, but i'm too busy wasting time doing other things for that.

aww, that doesn't sound very fun, wet things tend to be either heavy or otherwise difficult to deal with... sorry you got stuck handling that >_>

why so little sleep? just super busy? I personally can't handle so little sleep, I'd be at my wits end, haha. hopefully you managed to get some sleep since your post.

------------

as for me, here's how my "days" have been going:

ballin1337 is going to go on a small tangent
[9:05:02 PM] ballin1337: One Piece manga is extremely hype right now, this arc in general has been more hype than it's been in years
[9:05:17 PM] ballin1337: (I'm almost always excited over OP so I gotta put things into perspective)
[9:05:36 PM] ballin1337: Tokyo Ghoul: re is absolutely fantastic and is reaching the climactic battle of this arc, and pretty much every chapter has both exciting plot and action
[9:06:04 PM] ballin1337: it's also so unpredictable, every cliffhanger is just ughhh
[9:06:16 PM] ballin1337: Oregairu is easily the best anime out there right now
[9:06:29 PM] ballin1337: pretty much every episode is a 9.5 or 10/10
[9:06:55 PM] ballin1337: which is just mind-boggling, because I've never seen such universal praise from critics for an anime like this, but it's kind of totally justified
[9:07:11 PM] ballin1337: and there are some video games that I'm really hyped for
[9:07:21 PM] ballin1337: so I'm pretty much at hype max, I don't know what to do anymore
[9:07:26 PM] ballin1337: my mind can't get off these things
[9:07:59 PM | Edited 9:08:07 PM] ballin1337: also I'm going to start socializing again, I've been recharging my battery by holing myself up in my room the past few weeks (#Introverted), but doing stuff with friends is fun too
[9:08:21 PM] ballin1337: this summer might not actually suck for once
[9:08:24 PM] ballin1337: O_o
[9:08:32 PM] ballin1337:  /ENDRANT

granted I had a super long day at work on Thursday because of some problems there (pretty much my boss gave a super big job that he thought was only a 5 hour job, I did some stuff to make it go by faster and he got mad because he wanted me to just do it like, "normally", but even with my tricks it took like 10 hours, so yeah) and there are other things happening too, it's not like I spent all my time on anime/manga/games (lol), but in general I've been kind of overwhelmed by all the awesomeness and am not sure how to deal with it, I need some kind of relief, I can't handle this much excitement/joy/whatever lol

though I'll say that Oregairu (one of the sources) also makes me a bit depressed and reflective so there's that, and the fact that it's already ending soon (T_T) also makes me depressed because I KNOW I'll suffer from post-anime depression (AKA "PAD") even though I still have the light novel and other stuff to keep me busy... yeah, I just get emotional really easily, for better or worse >___<; (usually for the worse though, *sigh*)

The lack of sleep is just something that happens from time to time. Next week I'll probably crash and get like 10 hours every day, so I'm not too worried about it.

Having a lot to get hyped about sounds good. I've run out of hype material, so I'm going back to all my favorite games/shows/books I haven't picked up recently. Rewatching Dragon Ball. Can't wait for the general blue episodes. He's easily my favorite villain from all of Dragon Ball things.

Went to bed at 12 am. Woke up at 4 am as I've been having sleeping problems lately unfortunately. Talked on and off with my (new) girlfriend throughout the day as she was working. Watched Pro level Smite games and tried to keep her updated on games as she's really interested in pro level Smite. I doze off during the last game and take a nap for 3 hours afterward.

Tomorrow I'm going to a family outting at around 1 pm so I'll miss SPL games but oh well. Looking forward to seeing my extended family members more often than just Christmas and sometimes Easter each year. lol

So...um...hockey is fun.

Got to go to a regular season game tonight.  Game was all sorts of nuts.  Last 2 minutes of the game were just crazy.

Background: teams were tied going into that last minute. Game until that point was all sorts of strange with bunches of goals being scored seconds apart and then the game consisting of trading chances for about half of it.  Seriously, if I were to show a non-hockey fan what makes hockey exciting, that would be it.  Not a coaches' dream game, but highly entertaining.

I digress.  1 minute (out of 60) to go - Away team gets a penalty shot (same as in association football pretty much but the nature of hockey allows the player to "retain forward momentum" during the shot).  Scores.  4-3 for the away team.  1 minute is nothing in terms of time.

(More background on the shooter - Marchand is the hockey equivalent to a flopper.  He falls anytime he's touched.  He's also a grating player who often makes his money by agitating opponents...it's like that kid who says "I'm not touching you"...not a really likable guy, but that's why he gets paid.  Fans of his team would defend him but that's about it)

Home team pulls the goaltender and go all out.  Scouring in this sort of situation is typically goal losing (last I read - 1/3 chance you get scored on, 1/9 chance you score).  The following clip goes until 1.2 seconds left (in association football terms, imagine tying in extra time)

I'd probably estimate the decibel level around 115-120.  The reasoning is that they had a "how loud can you get?" event earlier in the game which rang in at 105.  And this was by far louder (as well as a little louder than a rock concert, typically in the 108-114 range).  You couldn't hear yourself shout (and trust me, I tried).

Overtime starts.  The NHL uses rules of 3v3 (3 skaters on each side as oppose to 5).  So lots of open ice and lots of chances for a sudden death goal.

The goal scorer ends up with a hat trick (3 goals in a single game).  It's a rare event (15 in about 300 games this year).  Fans, as expected, go nuts.  As per tradition, you can see people throwing hats onto the ice after the goal is scored.

Ahahah, wow, not a hockey fan but that sounds pretty dang hype. I tend to be a fan of mid-to-high scoring games because I like more "action" in mine but I can kinda see the appeal in sports like soccer and hockey where teams rarely get into double-digit scores AFAIK.

That loudness sounds insane too, I have sensitive ears so I'd have probably been in serious pain and/or just like... passed out or something lol, can't even hear yourself shout? oh man. can hardly even imagine it.

---------------

as for how my day was, I wasted away most of my day playing Xenoblade. Though I had to wake up early-ish to go to a club meeting that I ended up missing, but at least I made the club photos... and then the club sub-team meeting, lol. So it wasn't a full waste.

but yeah, after that... pizza.

And I watched RWBY, and just finished up Haikyu!!, Assassination Classroom (which was pretty good--for me it's getting really exciting), and Tokyo Ghoul: re (which was also really good--I just like, SO want to know what happens next, and there are like, always so many questions being asked as readers... lol)

I'll talk a little bit about Haikyu!! in the anime thread probably, but yeah overall I just wasted today doing hardly anything productive. Considering my GotY (Xenoblade Chronicles X) came out and I just got done with a ton of work from classes (and I have finals coming up real soon), I'm ok with wasting some time. I kinda need to. I don't think I'm in ANY condition to do work right now. >_>'
