"Hey... Cecil was. I... I guess I have to go back." Kraan turned around and started running, an almost skeletal look on his face as he prepared himself for going back to the village. Just as he left, he heard Leona complaining loudly. "What is it?" Kraan asked Leona.

Suoh knew that Kraan was walking to his death by going to Serest. He ran after him and yelled, "WAIT!"

Kraan noticed Suoh and said, " Come if you want, but I am not stopping for... anything." Kraan continued, a determined expression on his face.

Cecil was sitting in the middle of Serest, looking around at all of the blood and death. As Kraan approached him he asked "Is this what a sword does? Is this all a sword can do?" And he started crying. "I'm just a kid... Already my teacher has disappeared... I don't know if I want this life anymore... Tresa was so peaceful... What if they did the same there Kraan?"

Zel, having followed Kraan quietly, went up to Cecil and put his hand on his shoulder. "This is not the only purpose for a sword. Yes, it is one of the uses, but it can also be used for the opposite. To protect those you care for most." He crouched in front of him. "You said you wanted to learn to fight. Why did you want to fight? For glory? For fame? No, from what I've seen of you, you want to learn to protect your loved ones. So, ask yourself. What will you do if they DO attack Tresa? Will you just stand by and watch as your loved ones are slaughtered in the streets?" He stood and sighed. "This is your decision to make. I suggest you do as your heart dictates."

Cecil stopped crying. "No, apparently I'll run away and do nothing. I wanted to learn how to be fight for glory, but now...I've run away from home. I can't return until I'm strong enough to protect them, you're right."

Zel nodded. "Then get up, and face your destiny like a man. You walk a tough road, but you aren't alone."

Cecil grabbed his sword, and said "Can we at least bury the people before we go? Everyone deserves a burial."

Zel nodded. "All right. Let's find some spades. They should be around here somewhere..."

Suoh watched the conversation quietly, but now he had to speak up." May I bury my Sword Teacher myself? He was the one who taught me to use this blade, and he died killing morphs."

Cecil started picking his way through the remains of houses, looking for shovels. Finding what appeared to once be a shed, he moved away some ashes with his sword, to reveal a hidden door. "Zel?" He called, "I found some shovels... And this."

As he turned he saw the new kid too. "You're from this town, perhaps you know?"

That belonged to the Leader of the town. He kept many artifacts that he said were very precious in there. Nobody has ever gone in there besides him.

"Hmmm...intriguing. Perhaps we should look inside, we may discover something there."

Cecil pulled it open and looked down. "Anyone got a torch?"

((See, what I'm figuring is, it can be a shrine or the leader dying, or something, who gives us an artifact, and we have to deliver it or something, and get a destination from that. Like it?))

Zel coughed and extracted a torch from a nearby wall and lit it. He then looked at Cecil pointedly. "You first," he said.

Following behind the two men, Suoh slowly began walking down the tunnel with hi sword drawn. There was something in the air that he didn't like.

Cecil started walking forward and realized how far it was. He backtracked a bit, took the torch, and resumed exploring. Near the end, he saw the most beautiful thing he had ever seen. The way the water was flowing astounded him. In the middle of the water was a small island of sorts, with a statue of a goddess, and a dying man holding something shiny.

Suoh ran up to the man and looked upon the dying face of his Leader.

Cecil walked around the island, and starting picking at the back of the statue. Noticing a switch, he pulled it, revealing a secret cave in the secret cave. Inside was many weapons and shields, but one particular lance caught his eye. Entering and grabbing it, he realized that indeed it was powerful, but he would have no hopes of using it.

Skyler watched them all leave, save for Leona. Walking up behind her, he asked, "Hey...you alright?" He asked, with a smile on his face.
