I've been neglecting anime entirely for a while. I think I'm going to pick up KLK, Black Butler, and Trigun based on friend recommendations. Where do I start?

Kill la Kill is the only one I can recommend

I'd suggest coming into it with limited expectations and an open mind and not binge-watching it because you'll run out of steam trying to keep up with the epicness, lol

As far as anime I'm watching:

One Piece
Nisekoi
The Irregular at Magic High School
One-Week Friends
Black Bullet

Just watched the first episode of Nichijou on Seraph's recommendation, the general premise of it stopped me before but I finally did it... it's good but I still can't enjoy watching it when everything's so chibi with even the teachers looking short and young lol (the "high schoolers" look more like elementary kids >_>;)

As far as the airing anime goes, One Piece and Nisekoi are continuations, TIaMHS or Mahouka is great albeit a little weird with a certain relationship, One-Week Friends is a great simple and casual watch, I like it quite a bit, and Black Bullet has a couple issues but is enjoyable overall and is pretty dark/serious at times so it seems like it has some solid potential ohmy.gif

I heard the manga of Black Butler is better than the anime, though either one is probably going to feel somewhat creepy and kind of give off subtle homoerotic vibes. It has humor to balance that out though(or at least the anime does.)

I believe in judgment of humans through their judgment of fiction, for nothing else tells better of their disposition freed from apprehension.

The anime is only two episodes in

lol

three by tomorrow

generally speaking animation tends to be better out of natural value for animation (it's colorful, it moves, it's got sound, voice acting, and is easier to go through than manga in terms of not having to click to go to the next page)

I haven't read the manga though nor do I intend to so I can't say this is true

I think you've confused Black Butler(which has 2 seasons completed already) with Black Bullet(the new anime people are calling Attack on Titan with lolis)

Thanks, I'll be sure to keep those in mind. I accidentally watched about four hours of Attack on Titan today, and I think I'll do that before those because reasons.

Also, can we talk about Wolf Children? I feel a compulsive need to talk about the ending of Wolf Children.

Edit: haha disregard that, i hate sleep

Despite some of the slightly weird jokes

No Game No Life is proving to be a very interesting show

it's pretty shallow of me to say this, but it gives me vibes of both Phoenix Wright and Code Geass (the blatant PW references, which are awesome, and the chess analogies, which are also awesome, are the reasons for this)

Other shows are all solid, but Black Bullet's pacing is way too fast. Holy crap we're on like episode 4 and you've got too many major feels and the antagonist of the first arc is already dead. I read part of the manga and they skipped out on quite a bit, including some actual relevant details, changing it up to suit the anime more. It's just a bit of a shame because they could've easily made it 5 episodes or 6 episodes and it would've benefited a lot from that, we'd have gotten more time to develop this and it would've made a little more sense than it did (i.e. the manga makes more sense).

Oh and since the anime is already caught up to the manga, everything from here on out is presumably being taken from the Light Novel, and trying to read those is pretty hard due to lack of access to translations, so yeah...

The last bit of BB's last episode, holy crap the feels.

Enju is getting ever closer to her fate of death. Supposedly she only has about 500 days to live or something, which is uber sad. It's such a short life and even if she's weird I can't help but pity her and wish she could live it to its fullest. Meanwhile Rentaro can't tell her that, of course... but gosh it's so sad. I hope the story has some plot device that saves her. I don't even care if it's total bull****, sometimes it'd just suck if certain character died. It might be a good plot point as well (Code Geass killed off all my favorite characters and made me mad depressed but it's still one of my most respected anime series ever) but I just don't think I'd be able to handle it, especially since it's hinted that if Enju died, Rentaro would kill himself... >_>

If you like No Game No Life, try watching Problem Children are Coming from another World, aren't they? (yes, long title I know) which others have compared the anime to a fair amount as a result of their premises being incredibly similar. It's finished, and it's only 10 episodes(though unfortunately it's one of those "Things after the parts the anime adapted get more interesting" franchises it seems) so you won't need to find too much time for it. I personally liked it more than what i've seen of No Game No Life(which goes beyond the episodes released) because I found the characters and art style more appealing, though you might think otherwise.

The style doesn't seem like my thing indeed (read: bunny ears) but to be fair I often have to put up with shitty art styles and characters I don't like so I'll give it a chance, thanks^^

so i finished reading all of fate(yep, all three stories good and true endings) and then watched fate/stay night and unlimited blade works. i must say i was seriously disappointed with the way unlimited blade works was handled. it just felt seriously rushed, and they left out massive chunks of the story so half of it wouldn't make much sense unless you had already read/watched fate/stay night.

*Spoilers*

one thing i did really love about unlimited blade works was the shirou archer fight. still felt a bit rushed compared to the visual novel version but they did put enough time into that part to make it good.

*end spoilers*

anyway i now want to watch something else and i can't decide between black cat, black butler, and watching trigun again. any suggestions?

they pretty much HAVE TO with the length they got to work with

I think it was only really intended as fighting scene fanservice for the people who already did the route

Oh I know they had to. I'm certainly not saying I could have done any better, however it would have been nice to see just a bit more you know? I just think it didn't do the story justice is all. Unlimited blade works was pretty much the best route imo. Ilya's death got me right in the feels. I almost started crying a bit. But in the movie they barely have any of how berserker met ilya, so it wasn't really a big deal. That and caster's relationship with her master seems completely platonic right up till they die.Maybe that stuff isn't all that important to the big picture of the story, but it did make the characters a lot more real which is what makes fate so great.

yeah it sucks when stuff gets rushed, I feel ya, that always bothers me with movies and such, or even anime that just don't have a lot of episodes to cover a lot of ground (*coughBlackBulletcough*)

I liked Fate/Zero a lot and UBW was solid, somehow I think I finished the majority of Fate/Stay Night (I vaguely recall skipping a lot of it) but it was pretty bad

I hear they're remaking it though

didn't do any reading because I'm not into that

also multiple endings actually kinda bother me sometimes, complexity aside bad endings can be seriously dark or gloomy sometimes, and I hear that's kinda how the bad ending of Fate/Stay Night is lol (Heaven's Feel or something, I don't really care that much though lol)

Heaven's Feel is a route, there are three routes and lots of bad endings in all three of them IIRC, the bad ends of which are basically just the protagonist failing because he made some bad choice(sometimes there's no reason to think one choice is better than the other though.)

Just watched episode 6 of Riddle of the Devil.

OH GOD

FEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELSSSSSSSSSSS

and now there's little to no reason for me to watch anymore since BEST GIRL is gone. ;_;

but anyway even though I say that too many FEELS struck my heart I was disappointed by how they basically stuck every development into one episode instead of foreshadowing and gradually building up to it, since they're the only other couple in the entire show and stand out in that they're the ones with the most different motivations from the main plot.

got bored so i started watching attack on titan on the suggestion of my non-fire-emblem-playing friend(that bastard has ignored every time i suggest he play FE)...three days later i finish the watching season 1 and google when season 2 is coming. i really need to get back to my "watching" list so if someone could suggest what i should finish next i would greatly appreciate it

Desert Punk
Black Butler
Grenadier(i honestly don't remember why i started watching this)
Death Note(i stopped watching it after L died. he was my favorite character, it kinda really disappointed me)
FMA
Angel Beats(never actually started it, just wanted to)
Flcl(only watched episode 1 so far but it was rather entertaining so I'm going to watch more eventually)

Angel Beats is really sad

don't have much to say about the others, I didn't like Flcl and FMA is solid though people prefer Brotherhood and I quit watching just because it couldn't keep my interest for whatever reason *shrug*, I mean I liked it but something was just missing... :\
