@Mankut: I think I see what Mori said there, indeed, in the transition sprite, the blurry motion one, it seems she still keeps her sword. You should edit it to make it look right, the secret on making more realistic sprites is making good-enough blurs.

Finally getting back to that old Cless WIP, just need to do the hair now...

Well... If you ask my opinion, you might reconsider the amount of border in the armor, as it is it seems pretty overused. I know overusage tended to be almost a norm in FE8 mugs, but then again the armor is pretty light and they don't seem to blend that well IMO.

Also, the chest part seems pillowy, just a bit, the neck trim doesn't seem to blend well overall.


Another detail, about the face... Hmm, the difference in the skin tones seem pretty big, did you make those tones on your own? The shape of the face also seems a bit off, the distance of the eyes seem uneven, but then again that could be due to the shape the facial shadding is creating, normally it is more of a line than a circle.



And you really love FE8 colors, hm? The difference in between the shades, that saturation, does create a good effect, no?


And that hair will be hard, but the final result will be pretty something, only by looking at those lines I am in awe already!

Eclipse, Cless is looking great so far. I'll be making his custom animation soon for the hack so if we both finish I could possibly make one super epic video. XD

1.) In the first frame, the sword looks off from the hilt.

2.) He twists the blade around in his hand as he jumps up, but the blade is back in it's original position when he reappears.

3.) The legs look a bit pillow-shaded.

4.) The right arm on the second frame is missing an outline near the hand, on the hand, and on the cuff of the shirt, near the wrist.

1. I didn't make that frame.
2. He can do stuff while he's moving.
3. They are pillow-shaded a little bit. I based even the shading off of Ryru's because it was convenient.
4. It's supposed to be that way. Blur implies motion and including the outline would be incorrect and then somebody else would come here and say "that shouldn't have the outline". XD

I attempted at un-pillowing but the pants are a little saggy and so I believe some pillowing is necessary. :\

Pillow shading is frowned on in mugs, but... In battle sprites, some situations just demmand the saturated effect that the pillow effect brings. IMHO, pillow shading isn't bad in mugs because it is a bad kind of shading. It is bad because it is a shadding for battle sprites, applied to mugs.


And Blazer, looking amazing. ^__^ My only complaint would be about the piece of fur next to the hand, that doesn't seem furry. nor big enough.. Just add a bit of of fluff, and randomize(Not kidding) the pixels in it, and you may come up with something satisfactory. ^__^





Also, boredom work. Done in half an hour, while I was doing a part I want to use in another mug...

^^What he said, perhaps to do a color limit, just something simple would do but if the color limit is a factor then that's fail I guess

Also, the part right underneath the hair that is sticking out of the hat, I'd make it use the darkest color besides the hair should be creating a shadow in that area thus making it slightly darker. Not sure though and the angle bugs me XP

Lastly, seems like you're using the outline color on the hair, and quite a bit really, doesn't fit in too well IMO, I think just adding another color for it would be better...

lastly, # of colors used could be remedied by not having a unique eye color :\

EDIT:

@Ryoku, modern day stuff on Fire Emblem mugs, looks 'odd' for somebody to be wearing a baseball cap and wielding a sword at the same time to some people is what he's saying. I think it personally depends on the purpose and intent of the hack I'm using it for, if it's just normal spriting for anything then I don't think it matters at all

The face seems a bit deformed at the bottom right. But other than that, no other problems I can see.
