Cecil nodded. "If I hadn't let my horse chase Captain, we could use this wagon. Leona, are you coming with us? Or shall we have to stay behind and protect you?"

Zel closed his eyes. "We could always use you instead of your horse to use the wagon you know. Wouldn't be much difference to me." He chuckled. "Anyway, we should get going. I say we ditch Kraan, I'm getting tired of sitting around."

Cecil yells "RAWR!" and picks up the wagon and runs a few feet, then busts out laughing.

Zel openly facepalms. "...I was kidding. But if that's the way you want to do it, then that's find by me." Zel starts to move towards the wagon, intending to climb on.

"Haaa... Haaa... Almost at town now." Kraan kept running, wondering what might await him.

"Ah!" Kraan exclaimed, shocked to find Skyler's motionless body in the town square. "This... He... If only I had stayed. Well... Actually, then we'd both be dead." Kraan checked his pulse, and there was one, faint but... there was one. Kraan carried Skyler's body to the healer, where a frightened priest immediately gave Skyler a once-over and told Kraan "Well, I'll do my best, but this is a serious wound, tainted with darkness." Kraan nodded and left the Healer to try to help Skyler.

Kraan wandered around, trying to find a soldier that was not dead. After much searching, he found one. "Who killed him?!" Kraan yelled, shaking with rage. " Josef... Josef..." The morph repeated over and over. Kraan, after a quick stomp to the neck, walked away, his heart heavy with revenge.

((Wait...wasn't there like 6000 soldiers? O_o Skyler's power level must have been over 9000!))

Zel glared at Cecil. "So. We going to get going or just stand here messing with the wagon all day?"

((They left after "killing" Skyler.))

Cecil begins to pull the wagon, and hope the nearest town is nearby. " Thankfully, this cart isn't very big. You think Captain and Kraan will meet up with us?"

"I'm not sure...there was way too many soldiers for just one or two people to handle. But Kraan is...resourceful, and I'm sure Skyler knew what he was doing, so the possibility still exists..." Zel said quietly.

Skyler opened his eyes. Sure, his chest wound pained him, but he had befriended pain long ago. It no longer blinded him, only opened his eyes. He slowly crawled away, and disappeared into the darkness.

[Rennac]

"Where is he?" Kraan asked, walking up behind the healer. " Oh! Um... You see, I don't really know." Kraan facepalms, walks out the door, and says "Whatever. You did the best you could." Kraan started running and prepared to tell Cecil and Zel the bad news.

Skyler limped towards the forest. He rummaged through his pack, looking for a cigar. He found one, and lit it against a rock.

"Gah...I was a fool...Josef surely thinks I'm dead...well, fortunately his blade didn't pierce as deep as he thought. This....I could use this to my advantage." He muttered between mouthfuls of smoke.

Kraan eventually caught up with Zel and Cecil. "Skyler's not... dead. But he's gone." Kraan then fell in the back of the wagon and slept, exhausted from the running.

Skyler patched his chest wound up. It wasn't a neat job, since one of his arms had been slashed in the attack as well. But it would keep him alive, at least until he could get away.

Josef paused as he walked down the road. Something tells me....he's not dead yet. Doesn't matter. I'll finish him off the next time. He thought to himself as he began to walk again.
