I know for a fact that is in the top 5 I'd say.

What do you guys think? I'll come up with more suggestions when my face wakes up

I think the short list needs to include:
- Jeigan. He wasn't even that good at his designated job.
- Meg. Seriously, aside from a punchline one game later, she's a Pegasus Knight suited up in Knight armour. That, limited opportunities for using her, and mediocre payout is pretty depressing

Agree with Karla, as much as I loved trying to make her useful.

Disagree on Yuno though. I know FE has a habit of making early characters better, but her, Yodel, and Niime are all explicitly just replacement characters in case you got your primary units murdered. And at least Yuno can transport units compared to the other two.

I think the point is pretty clear though: both have their uses. Neither are excellent fighters, but Niime/Yodel can medic from a long range and Yunno can ferry units and let the other two unleash triangle attacks. It would be pretty silly IMO to lump one in a category and not lump the other in with it since they are both situational emergency units.

Oh no doubt. I think she's nearly strictly better than Yodel and probably more useful than Yunno since she doesn't need to risk her life doing her job.

Or does that not count since it doesn't impact her usefulness as a unit.

Didn't most legendary weapons in the FE1 remake require you to kill lots of your party anyways? Wouldn't it be expected to have that happen? Granted, most of your units from the prologue are decent, so you might not want to sacrifice anybody for her...but I'm just asking if it's expected at that point (since you need to be below 15 to hit 6x anyways).

I haven't played for a while. Is she likely going to be better than Gordon? The Wiki seems to imply they're interchangeable, so at that point it may become personal preference.

Personal bias: Bartre is the worst character in the series.

Objectively: Lyre may honestly take the cake here. I can't think of one instance where it would actually be useful to have her trained. Meg and Leo will at least be competent if used- Lyre will never ever be good.

Wendy may be a close second. Then Barth or whatever.

Karla is also bad, but she's not un-usable like Lyre.

I'd say Sophia is far far worse than Wendy ever could be.

Wendy to my mind is the best of the knights it's just the first 5-6 level ups that are difficult to manage.

I completely forgot about Sophia actually. Yeah she's pretty terrible. Fe6 is my least played game so I tend to forget characters from there

I can understand the argument for her (and in that case, pretty much all Est archetype) characters being poor tactically. You need to weaken your team and lag them in order to get them to even get into a reasonable spot. Keeping them requires eating up a lot of the efficiency of a team to start.

Sophia is certainly worse though. At least Wendy can get escorted by Barth/Bors and move in for a triangle attack kill.

Wendy is absolutely awful. The triangle attack is hard enough to set up with those three (especially when you could just have Miledy/Percival/Alance blitz everything) but even with it Wendy has a tendency to still take more damage than she dishes out.

Sophia is also awful. I don't even know how you debate between her and Wendy. They're both useless and die and don't even grow well.

Lyre probably makes the list. At least Meg and Fiona can get deployed and trade things or something marginal like that. Lyre can never contribute anything.

If we're looking at the highest difficulties, a huge portion of the FE11/12 casts approach being unusable even with RNG abuse. They probably actually kick out everyone else.

If we again look at higher difficulties, Donnel is literally unusable.

That's what comes to mind for me.

Lucia? Only usable for 1 chapter and leeches exp away from more usable units like Neph and Brom, then she comes back 50 years later where she's far too underleveled to matter. She also shows up extremely late in PoR. Not saying I hate Lucia but she doesn't really contibute much.

Also this topic feels like Shadow Dragon to me. I literally barely remember even a quarter of the playable cast.

would like to second that Shadow Dragon had an awful cast, the thing is I can't even remember the characters enough to say which of them are worst lol, it's like they're so bland and undeveloped you can't even hate on them >_<;

though if we're talking from a purely statistical point as it seems to have turned out, Wendy, Sophia, and Karla are definitely all up there. FE6 Merlinus was also freaking awful though. I feel like FE11 had a bunch of characters that were awful and that no one in their right mind would ever use as well.

Not literally unusable, but nearly so. I would know, as he was one of my drafted units in my lunatic PMU. He requires EXTREME babying, but he still turns into a decent unit if babied enough (or if you just grind dlc.)

Now, the worst unit in FE I've seen would have to be Bors. Even with his availability and ok base stats, he's still utter shit.He's also outclassed by every other knight you get (Dunno about Douglas though).
I hate Bors with all my heart.
