[Fire Blazer]

I've decided to start a very small and quick translation project for Fire Emblem 12, the latest Fire Emblem installment on the DS. If you don't know much about FE12, research it. XP

First of all, this will only be a very basic translation--names and maybe some menus and crap. Reasons why are 1) I don't have tons of time to spare 2) I'm not a very good hacker 3) I don't have a translator which is why I can't translate menus yet 4) the game will be released in the U.S. anyway so there's not much reason to care for major translation.

With that being said I've started a blog on it and will update it as I get more stuff done. I expect a patch within 3 days and idk what'll happen after that but I don't plan on spending more than a week hacking FE12.

Please don't bash on how making such a small translation is pointless, if anyone wants to play it then they can, if you think it's pointless then just don't play it. Thanks for the understanding...

UPDATE: Translation Patch V1.0 is out. Please comment and enjoy. FYI I got it released on the same day the actual game was released.

In response to the post in the other thread:

I suggest you change your emulator settings. As it is now the graphics are kind of dull and such. XP

For my translation patch I'm gonna do items next so I hope your list really does come in handy and that there's enough character spaces that I don't have to write "Iron L" and "Fire Emb" and crap...

As for the menus I can't locate which text is which ATM. In fact, I can't even specify the general area. Although the dialog text was really easy to locate and i already had documentation on how it worked. But then again it's pointless since I don't have a translation for the dialog and I don't want to translate it anyhow... XD

Well, point is, if you make a translation for the menus, I might not even use it unless I can tell which text is which. Unfortunately it's not as easy as doing names and crap...

Also, do you ever plan on sharing your cheat-hacking codes and crap?

Also, I have to admit I'm slightly surprised this hasn't gotten any more responses. I guess I shouldn't be though.

My CPU settings are fail on safe mode so its VERY BLURRY....I might have misread a good 30% or so...as soon as my CPU is fixed ill doublecheck

The translation patch is out. V1, anyhow. I'd like to think I won't make anymore releases though, as per usual. It never works out that way though. *Prepares for some game-breaking glitch...*

Well, I believe you get it from Luke in either a base convo or that weird thing underneath.

@Rey I already knew that and translated it as Luke's sword in-game.

And there were several other discrepancies with the list, as well as more... detailed names like "Miracle Elixir", "Heroic Poition", and things like the "Dracoshield Staff" were just called "(Stat)Staff", e.g. "DefenseStaff". And all the shards are named after something zodiac I think. They all seem familiar but I'm not into looking into the origins of the names of the shards.

And of course I had to "localize" other characters and items...

I can see you have the menus translated, but not the dialogue. I am getting some people to help me with the translation of the actual dialogue, if that is of any interest to you. If you have the scripts for FE12, I could use them and get this fully translated in much less time.

No, I don't have the scripts, although people are willing to translate it... well, were. The game will most likely be released by Nintendo/IS in English anyhow, so I don't see the point in wasting our time translating it ourselves, but you can do whatever you want.
