Basically it's taking two or more different portraits and mixing them together.
Ex: Ewan's hair for Ray's body
Or something similar to that.

Yeah, you can "splice" things together by cutting parts off of one person's body, doing the same to another body, and then putting the body together, while using basic spriting skills to touch it up so it looks natural.

Contrary to popular belief, it is actually much easier to splice with Photoshop, because you can splice pixel by pixel (Better accuracy), and recolor with simple paint tools.

Paint allows pixel by pixel splicing as well, unless I don't really get what you mean :/

And I gave him that same tutorial, Felover. Awesome S***. tongue.gif

Naw, I mean you can zoom in really close, and you have better colors...and the the Lasso tool, which is like a crop you can bend the edges and stuff, and twist it around.

Meh, I'm content with Paint, and I rarely sprite anyway. 800% zoom is more than enough for me.

Paint is more simple, and you don't have the loading times.

But either way, the main issue with Cox's sprites is that they're saved as .jpgs...
Save 'em as .png's

Is this a recolour?

P.S. This is Maisa hidden in a mask which seems to go in beneath her wig, I mean hair.

Yes, but it seems, odd...I am not a spriter, but it jsut seems too odd, mostly because her skin is purple xD

I know it's supposed to be a mask, but it needs shading xD

That's one heck of a tight mask...

It needs shading, better colors to fit for the mask-like material, and it shouldn't extend past her face... it's a mask.

The main issue is shading though :/

Well how should I put it...
You're being a bit lazy when it comes to mixing the images. Rath's headband is still there- a major flaw that shouldn't been erased during the making of the splice, and furthermore the hair transitions amongst Lyn's and Rath's are rather choppy. Just a hint, but try and erase the outer portion of Rath's hair before attaching Lyn's. It'll make erasing the outer space a whole lot easier, without the choppy transitions.

Nice job saving it as a .png though
