I won't post the JPGs, they're an embarrassment to me. It's a real shame, because some of those sprites were pretty good. :\

Right now I have three of my transparent-backed PNG sprites in my signature. They are, from left to right, Haseo (.hack//G.U., first form), Ike (Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance, Lord outfit) and Nanaly Fletch (Tales of Destiny 2 JP). In case I decide to remove them later, I'll plunk them down in this thread for everyone to see.

I'm kind of annoyed with the first sprite because Haseo's first form outfit has a lot of detail which is hard to put into a FE-sized sprite and I don't think I pulled it off well. The second sprite also bugs me, because I'm afraid I got some of the color coordination incorrect (I had to use two different images, and they had vastly different shading, so some of the colors were off between them). Plus that Ragnell just looks stupid. As for the third sprite, I really would've loved to put some detail into the bow, but I guess I decided not to at the time and so it just looks like a generic sniper bow. Meh. :\

I know I based Ike off of Eliwood and Nanaly off of a female sniper, but I don't remember who I based Haseo off of. Judging from his stance, probably Ephraim...

And now I'll put in a few other sprites, with my own individual criticisms for them. (Unfortunately, some of them don't have transparent backings... I'll have to fix that later. *procrastinates*)

My OC, Kaltzun Krusanda, with his wings visible and retracted. I based the body sprite off of a swordmaster and the wings are from a pegasus knight. I'm not too pleased with the positioning of the wings in proportion to the head... but meh.

I'll leave it up to you Bleach fans to guess who this is. Based it off of a male archer sprite, kind of dissatisfied with the plainness of the outfit but then again the character it's supposed to depict wears kind of plain clothing as well. :\

Rutger as a Trueblade, created by splicing together his normal swordmaster sprite with Lloyd's trenchcoat. It irks me for no reason other than it just doesn't look right. x_x

These are both the same guy, Judas from Tales of Destiny 2. I drew him without his mask because with the size of FE sprites, it would've been impossible to put in that much detail. I based the first one off of Ephraim and the second one off of a male swordmaster, IIRC. I like the detail on his clothes better in the second one, but the first one has a better stance and a decent-looking cape thanks to the pre-existing one on the sprite...

These are all pretty basic, sniper recolors based off of Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn characters. The first two are both Leonardo, the third is Rolf (made by request on another forum, but I liked it so I put it up as well). Comparing the two Leo sprites, I personally think I got the second one's coloring better, but there's just something about it that strikes me as wrong.

Both Ike as a ranger, based off of Eliwood. I picked that particular frame in the sheet because I thought it suited his battle stance in PoR well. The second one has a recolored sword to look like Ragnell for all you SSBB fans (and frankly, I think it looks better than my second attempt at Ragnell... see above). The sword still looks pretty meh, though. And the headband could've been better.

Soren as a mage, again from Path of Radiance. The only interesting thing to note here (other than the fact that I think it's ugly) is that I based his sprite at least partly off of a female mage. (Go figure.)

Old, unfinished Ilyana (PoR) spritesheet. I never figured out why I decided to scrap it since it was looking pretty good, but it might've been because I was nitpicking about the color being off again...

And the first (and probably only) non-FE sprite I'll be showing here. Can you see why? It's SUPPOSED to be an original sprite of a character I thought up for a .hack//G.U. fanfic I'm writing (her name is Mira and she's not 100% OC... I can go into detail, but I doubt you want me to). It's hard to tell that it's a human being, much less a female, much less a- okay, I'll stop now. But seriously, this is why I don't do original sprites. This, my friend, is why I RECOLOR.

You need more confidence in your spriting skills. You're really good at making battle sprites. Keep it up. You make mugs too? They're more of my expertise.

Eh, I'm better at battle sprites because I'm not too good with fine details on larger sprites... I've done mugs before, but most of them are just full recolors.

Well Blazer, having a slow internet means the links are good for you. You only have to load the ones you want to look at.

Little things make the sprites look sort of funny, but all in all, they're decent.

I'd appreciate it if you could point out some of the things that bother you.

Some things that bother ME are colors haha. Some of them seem neon-ish or too bright, or to dull on some.
Also I saw that you used some of the regular basic poses, but I think some of the sprites you made would look a lot better if they were in different positions.

For example is I like your Ike which you based off of Eliwood more than the one in your signature for some reason haha.

Sorry that its all so vague haha.

It's fine, everyone has their own opinions.

Both Ike sprites are based off of Eliwood - just different frames of animation. I believe the ranger Ike is based off of Eliwood's critical animation.

I generally tried to compare the colors to the original bases, but I might've gotten some of them wrong... I know I used gray instead of black on the basis that you can't really shade black, and also that most of my borders were black.

You can shade black. I've got a palette somewhere, I'll post it when I find it.

...um, no, you can't shade black. Black is one color. There are several shades of dark gray, but there is only one shade of black.

in FE, it's always gonna be gray then, because you can't use pure
black in fire emblem sprites.

Yeah pure black does not exist FE-wise.. Of course, Garcia's hair is pretty freaking close to black for FE8 sprites. For FE7 and FE6, you're stuck with gray.
